Gorillaz has a special place in my heart to be honest! I remember not being in a good place when I first got in to their music, empire ants helped a lot!
When I saw them live in august they played empire ants for the first time in YEARS. It really felt like it was meant for me (I cried)

OMG SAME I loooved tranquility base (it's actually my fav AM album) and I think the surreal and silly lyrics worked there because they were so pulpy and scifi-like on purpose, but the lyrics on the car are just bizzarrely bad and I really expected more... when I head body paint I was like girl what IS this loool :D also alex's singing sounds like an affectation but like a bad one? like he clearly can sing Idk why he isn't doing it well on that album. and I agree that it's not entirely terrible, it's just Meh.
