I’m so happy that Skybound are going to reprint the older comics from previous publishers especially as I have yet to finish phase 2 (missing one omnibus) and will never be able to finish phase 3 and the IDW run.
Also if I remember right the marvel crossover is technically still canon to the IDW run but by the start of All Hail Megatron there is a page that basically confirms all of Earth’s heroes are dead, so that’s how they sort of wrote off the marvel tie-in especially since the ending of the crossover shows the Quinjet is actually a transformer/Decepticon in disguise.
@@Arceedits they mentioned about reprinting old comics during con panels/interviews now that they have the Hasbro IPs, the first one they’re doing is the old GI Joe ARAH comics and they’re even doing a Kickstarter for it right now for special hardcover editions.
I know this is late but wanted to say thanks so much for this video. I’m just going to start reading/collecting Transformers comics & this video is beyond helpful.
@@NearMintConditionI do have a question though. Would it be worth it to track down/pay after market price for the IDW collections or wait for when/if Skybound reprint them?
I remember I was still buying singles and was pretty bummed Dreamwave went out of business after being so invested! I tried Infiltration and it was missing the spark for me. After that I never went back to IDW’s TF. I think if they had brought like Mark Waid or a well regarded super hero writer into that universe I might have come back to check it out. Looking back now, I do wonder what out of all of it is worth checking out. Thanks for putting this together to give us a heads up on the highlights!
I felt the same way about the IDW series when it kicked off. The selling point at first was Simon Furman, the original Transformers UK writer would helm the series. But his era was lackluster. It's actually after he leaves and new writers start taking over the book that it gets good. All Hail Megatron is the first little arc not done by him which I thought was a big improvement. Furman comes back but they formally kick off an ongoing series in 11/2009 with new writers and that's when it gets good. Last Stand of the Wreckers, many people's favorite arc is in 2009 as well. And it just gets better For me it became the definitive Transformers universe. It covers the War but also pre war, post war, the first Primes, and even explored the Transformers gods (Primus, etc). I'll put it this way. If you were a fan of the G1 cartoons and hoped something would come along that was a worthy successor to that but written for you now as an adult, but have constantly been disappointed. Well, this is the book for you. It is everything I wanted and more.
I was worried the reading order segment wasn’t coming back, appreciate all the effort put into making these, looking forward to whatever reading order comes next
My hope is that when skybound eventually reprints IDW material theyll reprint it in a way where we can just complete our hardcover collections. I dont mean necessarily the exact same books, rather just printing collections where we can just pick up the last volume's we wouldve needed for this collection
Heh, That New Avengers mini I ended up tracking down the trade as a gap filer since that wasn't available for the Hachette books. I had it in singles back in the day. Yep, bought that garbage twice.
Soooo when will the 6 hardcovers be reprinted?? I really hope they come out with the reboot soon just cuz I have been wanting that run and of course someone cleared them at my LCS….im not going to even try Phase 1,2 or 3 🤣
Know when they will reprint the idw runs ? I want to start reading because of interest in the transformers one movie that comes out in September I want to start reading the series and it peaked my interest.
So, I skipped to the bit after Phase 3 Vol. 3 to see how the TPBs finishing off the series were handled, so forgive me if this was mentioned elsewhere in the video, but I believe you left out a few key issues: -Transformers: Til All Are One Annual; this was only collected in Vol. 3 of the TPB for the series, and also available as a one-shot. -Transformers: Requiem of the Wreckers; this was only collected in The Wreckers Saga TPB, and is also available as a one-shot. -Transformers: Historia - this was a one-shot summary of the entire IDW run (pre-reboot) by Chris McFeely, who is a YTer that has come to be known as the Transformer Historian. This issue has not been in any collected edition to date. The first two of these are what I would consider critical issues. There are also other TPBs like Scarlett's Strike Force worth mentioning, as Skywarp is in that, but I wouldn't label it required reading by any stretch. A great resource for specific issue-by-issue reading order that I recommend utilizing after the end of the Phase 3 Volume 3 HC is available at the following link, and you can even differentiate it based on how much of the Hasbroverse content you wish to read: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1wsvwzu0HEBam65xldFtpKHTixUn7AiGDvWMxn1E5024/htmlview

I hope they reprint all of them, I would like to read them
These reading order are a blessing! Thank you for bringing them back. And that background music rocks!
Missed the reading order videos Omar so very happy to see this! Thank you for all your wonderful content 😊
My man! Thanks for bringing back the reading orders!

Glad I could help!

So good seeing the reading order books back 🙏
Finally! Reading orders are my favorite series and I cannot wait for whatever we get next
It’s impossible to release this video in a better moment haha! Thanks!!
Whats the best jumping on point does everyone think?

Love it! Great job. What a collection. 😀
Thanks so much! 😊

Let's hope Skybound reprints all of this 🙏 I've wanted to read this in physical for years
It's good being an old fart like me. I still have my US and UK Marvel comics, as well as Dreamwave (I didn't care for IDW)
You need to nod to the Hachette Partwork collection. That is awesome.

Also have softcover version of those hardcover
When do you think they will start? Would like to start reading Vol 1

Reading orders are back!! We still don't have an Avengers reading order. 😢
The first IDW Transformers run was good until Dark Cybertron. After that it took a downward spiral.
And caught fire after the Titans Return event.
Loved LOVED it until the Hasbroverse (Phase 3) but even then Lost Light was still great.
Soooo when will the 6 hardcovers be reprinted?? I really hope they come out with the reboot soon just cuz I have been wanting that run and of course someone cleared them at my LCS….im not going to even try Phase 1,2 or 3 🤣
Awesome timing! I really did not like the transformers one trailer tho 😂
With all the new omnis out and coming. I hope we get a redo of the X-Men reading order videos
So, now that Transformers is finished, what reading order is next?
Yes!!!! Finally love me everything Transformers!!
Know when they will reprint the idw runs ? I want to start reading because of interest in the transformers one movie that comes out in September I want to start reading the series and it peaked my interest.
Thanks 👍🏻
You know what's fun? It's impossible the get these now.
hey man great video. I was wondering if you were going to do shattered glass and beast wars uprising???
Would it be worth tracking all these IDW collections down or just wait for them to be reprinted (if they are that is)?
I have the complete Phase 1, 2 and 3 books... most of them are even sealed for lack of time to read. Any idea how much this would sell?
That can go for 2-3k easily on ebay people sell phase 1 for 1k on its own
I was hoping to hear something about reprints. Unfortunately not. :(
😮 I want these copies but don't know where to buy physical copies
But arent these out of oront?
sweeeeeeeet! ❤🎉
Interested to see how these get recollected; aside from Compendium
I really wish Phase 1 wasn't so prohibitively expensive. Hopefully Image can reprint it
Transformers by Roberts omni collection ASAP, plz. Just seeing you flip through MTMTE made me want to do a ~100 issue reread!!
I would love to see an Iron Man reading order is possible.
What do you think of the trailer for transformers one?
If I wanted to read a transformers comic series’s that specifically focuses on the war on cybertron. Which book series should I get into?
IDW is my favorite era. But the new series by skybound/image is solid.
Any idea if these will ever be reprinted? Or omnibus editions?
Is it still going??
