Hey there, I’m actually the guy in the middle that broke this up. I’ve been with this band for 17 years. Your analysis is spot on. This was not staged or a publicity stunt, if this was for publicity, we wouldn’t have canceled the tour and I wouldn’t be sitting at my house right now. I’ve really enjoyed your videos, especially the ones with the UFO whistleblowers. Your insight is valid. Take care!
So what's the problemo? Did Dave bang his mom or something?
@@RareFormRadio Thank you for your contribution to bad a$$ music brother.
@@RareFormRadio, I was there man, 20 rows back, center! I’m sorry this happened. Perry vs Perry, sad to say. Maybe it didn’t sound 100% but nobody cared! We were having a great time! He ruined a tour for all employed for it and the fans 😞 I have the other footage where Dave went over to Eric to make sure they were in sync and Perry came over at that point too basically singing/screaming “at” Dave and then Dave tapping Perry to let him no it’s solo time and probably to let him know where they are in the song. I'm a stage hand and have met both of these guys. (My boss was Porno for Pyro's stage manager).
Perry is way neurotic. The one time I had to talk with him, he was so scattered, his wife had to respond for him.
Dave, on the other hand, was so much nicer than I expected. He was very outgoing and respectful to me and my crew.
As part of my job, I only have the briefest of interactions with stars, but in that moment, I can generally get a really good take on who they really are, and whether I look forward to meeting them again. Dave is cool with everyone, Perry is only cool with people when he sees a benefit to himself.

It's a hard job but it must be interesting to see all these musicians when they're not on stage performing!
@@audiodead7302 🤣🤣
This altercation ended their tour. Hundreds of thousands of dollars lost. Why would they stage that?
From what I've heard it's a mix of different things:
- Perry was frustrated because his voice is failing him.
- He couldn't hear himself because, apparently, the sound on stage was too loud
_(nowadays, besides the drums, all the instruments are only played through their in-ear monitors, to make it easier for the sound guy to mix the band but some bands prefer the old school method of hearing their guitars and other instruments from monitors on the floor, directed at them)_
Add some booze and a couple of decades of frustration among the band members and you get something like this
💯🎯
Sadlander, Dave still plays through an amp and Cabinet on stage. Eric does also. This is what leads to high stage volume. Dave would need to go through a modeler, and Eric Direct Into PA to keep stage volume down. In ears as opposed to wedges would complete the quiet stage with exception of acoustic drums.
@@latentsea Using a modeler makes things easier but you can still use real amps.
Do you know Phil X? He's replacing Richie Sambora in Bon Jovi.
In an interview, he talked about the differences between playing with Bon Jovi and with his own band. With his own band, he plays through his amp and his cab is right behind him.
With Bon Jovi, he plays through real amps but the cabs are in an iso-box, hidden somewhere behind or below the stage and he only hears himself through his in-ear monitors.
I also saw a video where Guns n' Roses were doing the soundcheck and noticed something very interesting.
Slash plays through real amps, too and his cabs are isolated somewhere outside of the stage. The person who was filming this video was filming from the side of the stage and you can hear that his guitar is only coming from the crowd speakers...but suddenly, his guitar became a lot louder.
During a part of a song _(Estranged)_ he needs feedback from his guitar. He has a cab on stage but he doesn't use it, not until that precise moment.
When they get to that part of the song, Slash gets closer to that cab and right at the exact moment, his tech turns it on, so that Slash can get his guitar to feedback by standing right next to the cab.
After that part of the song, his tech turns it back off and you can hear his guitar only coming from the crowd speakers, like before.
There are guitar pedals that simulate feedback but it's not the same. I don't know who came up with this idea but having a cab on stage that you can turn on just for a specific moment, that's very smart!
They cancelled the next show. That's a pretty dang expensive publicity stunt.
They just cancelled the rest of the tour.

If he's serious about touring with JA and going for vocals that came from a 23 yr old, and he's now 65, he has to let go of the booze. By his age, it only accellerates bodily deterioration, and it absolutely destroys the singing voice. I love JA, so I'm rooting for him.
I doubt booze are his only vice. He liked him some heroin. But to be fair, so did the rest of the group. I liked heroin too. Mix it with booze and you got a hot steamy mess of shit.
“The Other Guy” is original JA bassist Eric Avery, & this is his first tour reunited with the band after a L-O-N-G estrangement due to “issues” with Perry Farrell! Good on him for finally getting his licks in! That must’ve felt GREAT!
I LOVE this band, but Perry has always been the weakest link, giving inconsistent performances & going on rambling drunken tangents, wrecking the vibe & disrupting the flow nearly HALF of the (many) times I’ve seen them.
The problem is booze, not drugs, btw. He’s an impulsive, belligerent drunk.
And don’t get me started on how wrong he did longtime girlfriend, “Ritual de lo Habitual” cover artist & head muse Casey Niccoli. She contributed MUCH to this band (see the movie “Gift”) & walked away with NOTHING.

I think Perry Farrell is mad because he is getting older, so he can no longer sing ridiculously high like he used to, he’s having trouble remembering all of his lyrics that he wrote about 35 years ago, and his ears are ringing from tinnitus. I’ve seen the drummer, Steve Perkins, say in a drum clinic, “If it’s too loud, good,” and I imagine Dave Navarro is from this school of thought as well. Perry Farrell probably welcomed the ‘louder is better’ philosophy back in the day, but it’s taking its toll on him and he just can’t take it anymore. He has probably asked Dave to turn down numerous times to accommodate his vocal and hearing struggles. But guitarists will never turn down, not till the day they die. Let’s not forget their history of drug use. God knows what all Perry Farrell was on that exacerbated his frustration.
That's very sad to hear he's going deaf. I've recently read a young lady who is a dancer and coreographer in my country has been diagnosed with early onset arthrosis. That's a career ender for a dancer anywhere. So now she is trying to become a bit of a tv presenter. Hope she makes it. Or at least makes enough monies to earn a living. Mind you I still have her corset that I bought from her store. Amazing how sometimes famous people influence us the wrong way and other times inspire us. Hope this guy from the band can find a way to feel less stressed and frustrated for his sake and that of everyone involved.
Don't indulge people who can't tell real from fake. True fans know something is terribly wrong with Perry.

You know re-watching the others come running, I don’t think it’s the first time PF has lost it. Crazy! I just saw them two weeks ago in Portsmouth, VA. It’s a shame they couldn’t get along because the show was great. Maybe they will eventually get back on tour.
Just watched the clip. Clearly real. The victim was in high data intake mode and threat assessment mode, while still trying to diffuse.
The aggressor had no fake bravado that usually occurs before pretending to get physical, just an appropriate (for someone about to get physical) stream of rage.
I wouldn't have thought it was fake for a second.

Yep. He's been this way... It's Real as Scott Wayland Fights on stage.
Love your break downs🤩Navarro's hand was sure shaking, as put his pick in place he's getting in fight mode
Not staged. Dave's looking straight into Perry's eye's taking in as much information as he can. He's asking, "What? What?" caring enough to listen and learn. As things progress he feels the need to protect himself by putting out his forearm/elbow to try and block Perry's forward motion. Why put the energy into to doing that if the threat isn't real? Perry's chin jut would be uncomfortable to do if he wasn't all in and really furious about something. / Didn't know about the back up part w/ guys. But we've seen enough of them bend over in pain if they get clobbered in between their legs. Hope cooler heads prevail. Thanks, Mr. Scott. / I'm always taking a few seconds to look behind you to see what you want us to know during filming. Nice plant. Nice sign/advertising.

Scott! You explained this so well! All of the ques, etc. Wtf is up with Perry?!!! I love him! I like Navarro (who handled it well) 😅
Not sure why most people leave the most important part out looking at a shorter version of footage that doesn't show what happened just before. After trying to sing with a broken voice Perry was already breaking down and cursing at other bandmembers and into the audience. He then turned to Dave as he was closest and loudest, and when he cursed and screamed at Dave it seemed to enrage him more that Dave didn't address him or even look up playing his guitar. That's the moment where the clip most people see on video's like this begins. It would already be clear this was rage out of frustration. Nice breakdown of the body language tho, you can also lipread Dave saying wtf.
Perry has been unhinged since the 80's, when he could sing.
You broke that down nicely! I agree, it was REAL! Thx!
I can tell you exactly what happened. Perry begins singing the wrong part (may went into the refrain instead of the bridge, I can't hear clearly). Dave immediately hears it looks at him and then the drummer. The drummer may not be able to hear it. Either way, there is nothing for Dave to do until Perry figures it out. Unfortunately Perry doesn't and assumes they messed up and expects them to play what he is singing. I have had this happen on stage and watched it happen from the audience. When a singer is convinced everyone else screwed up it is a disaster and embarrassing to the singer. So if they can't laugh it off they throw a tantrum and Perry did.
He was something too
Usually I get nervous when I see things like this but I couldn’t help giggling with Scott’s description. 😂 I rewind everything you show twice. You’ve got mad skills Scott! ❤

Definitely real. Confirmed by the outcome. It is weird when people see something that has zero evidence and the exact opposite of a confirmation in outcomes. If it was for publicity they would exploit the attention instead of immediately canceling the tour and potentially quitting the band.

So not fake. I saw them two nights before and the band was struggling with Perry’s “erratic” behavior. Shows were selling well and the band was tight. Perry was struggling with his voice but was also loopy even for Perry. They wouldn’t have canceled a successful tour that just added 7 dates that was promoting a new album.
The entire premise that this was somehow fake or staged is ridiculous. At the end of the tour to keep us talking about them? Maybe. But during a tour where now all the crew are out of work and refunds have to go out to everyone? HELL NO!
