    Hey Morgonaut,
    This speed is blazing fast and would copy a 4K bluray movie in no time. Btw I came to this channel after I saw your video of "Hackintosh is Dead - This is the Future!".
    Amazing content and I love how you explain it with passion and intensity.
    I dropped comment in that video as well. feel free to respond, I hope you are not annoyed.

Now you are on my 1st youtube channel which is my main one, my priority which thanks God has nothing to do with hackintosh because the hackintosh solf self pro-claimed community is extremely toxic environment and life is too short to waste time with angry people like this

      Yeah until it's buffer gets full up and it basically shits itself. This becomes one of the slowest devices I've ever used once you've used like the first 5 GB or something. Love nvme ssds until you've transferred more than their cache and then it's like using a normal hard drive or slower.

  • @xray2785
    @xray2785 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That’s very mean of them to have you return the SSDs. Didn’t you get to keep any of them?

    Awesome stuff! I would run this as RAID 10 and have a mech drive for backup. Its amazing how much the drive prices as dropped. Super video giving us details on these drives. I wonder running as a server 24/7 usage how long the life of these drives would be.
    Cheers!

    • @morgonaut
      @morgonaut  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Mixcatcom Pete - makes no sense to run it as RAID10 and sacrifice capacity. Much smarter is to take advantage of all the 32TB capacity and use some mechanical HDDs in file server for automatic incremental backups. That's what I configure for clients remotely almost every day during video/remote meeting people can get on link in video description

    • @morgonaut
      @morgonaut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Mixcatcom Pete - "I wonder running as a server 24/7 usage how long the life of these drives would be." - I run 4x MP600 in file server for about 3 years for production and they are still at 98% if SSD life and they have lower TBW than these addlink drives

    Interesting information but, I WANT FASTER !!! I was thinking about an AMD EPYC™ processor. A motherboard that had 5 or 6 PCI-E 5.0 (X 16 slots) and a TB of DDR-5 ECC RAM.
    So, does anyone know of a card that will hold 4 M.2 PCIe Gen5 SSD Drives that will give me full Gen5 performance when installed into a motherboard that has PCI-E 5.0 (X 16 slots)?
    I want to "PUSH THE ENVELOPE"
    Crucial has their new T700 M.2 NVMe SSD with transfer speeds of 11 to 12 Gigabytes/Second AND that mat very well be the fastest NVMe SSD on the market, I want to RAID'(0) 4 drives and YES, I AM CRAZY.

    Sabrent 8TB is 30% cheaper.

    • @morgonaut
      @morgonaut  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @peter bratu - you wrote "Sabrent 8TB is 30% cheaper." - no it's not 30% cheaper! S95 8TB is $1,199.99 amzn.to/3SDCqsY , Sabrent 8TB after momentary -20% discount also $1,199.99 amzn.to/3mckGJ6 ! So the Sabrent is even 20% more expensive. And most importantly Sabrent has 5 times LOWER TBW so good luck with that for real production, that disk will die 5 times sooner so at the end you would need to buy 5 Sabrents to cope with single addlink! 😂 = Your claim Sabrent is 30% cheaper is absolute BS, Sabrent is in fact 5 times more expensive.

    Guess what i just used a 4 way asus bifurcation card with 4 crucial 705 4tb nvmes. I got 54 gigsbytes per second. Pcie gen 5 smokes this

    • @morgonaut
      @morgonaut  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @98f5 - my videos are about Macs and not PCs. So "guess what" - your PC card which needs bifurcation will not work in any Mac! And your PCIe 5 is useless when all Macs have lower PCIe generations 😂 The card I showcase in my video will work in any computer without bifurcation. Macs are not capable of bifurcation

    • @98f5
      @98f5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @morgonaut lol sorry didnt notice it was a mac :D dont worry they'll have gen 5 soon enough and there are already plenty of cards that don't need bifurcation.

  • @keneglinton1347
    @keneglinton1347 ปีที่แล้ว

    hmmm-where to begin? the sonnet and mcfiver are pcie 3.0 cards so why even mention them? also aero gen 4 only works on certain boards and a standard 4x m.2 card for $20 with 990 pro, wd850x,acer gm7000,etc are faster and cost less than addlink will do the same after a few bios settings and using storage spaces instead of owc which neither is bootable-Im getting the same speeds on a bootable solution and a much weaker motherboard than yours-I get yuou need sponsors but your fans rely on you for facts not hyperbole-you forgot to mention if one fo the 4 drives crash the whole array and its data=poof long gone-you have a sweet rig though and I do enjoy your show
