Award-winning author and podcaster and Greenlight neighbor Touré (author of the Prince biography I Would Die 4 U) returns to our stage to present his new book Nothing Compares 2 U, a mesmerizing oral history of the iconic artist constructed from years of interviews with dozens of people who spent time in Prince’s inner circle. This revelatory book is a deeply personal and candid discussion of who Prince really was, and tackles subjects never-before-discussed, including Prince’s multiple personalities, his romantic relationships, his traumatic childhood and how it propelled him into his music career, and the inspiration for some of his most memorable songs, such as “Purple Rain,” along with the origin stories of “Kiss,” “Around the World in a Day,” “Starfish and Coffee,” and the unheard “Wally.” Nothing Compares 2 U paints the most complete picture yet written of one of the most important and most mysterious artists of his time. Touré is joined in conversation by singer-songwriter Susannah Melvoin, who contributed the foreword to Nothing Compares 2 U and appears throughout the book!
