I love how you can still understand the entire plot.
Seeing how Mario exits Brooklyn at 1:02 and returns to it at 3:27 got me thinking. What if there was such extreme time dilation in the Mushroom Kingdom and its subsidiaries compared to Mario’s home turf that his adventure from meeting Toad to saving Luigi did actually only take like 2 and a half minutes of Mario’s home time? The final battle would’ve looked much more grandiose in the flooded city that hasn’t had time to repair itself, with citizens freaking out trying to escape the commotion, Pauline included, especially if the rain decided to pop in when they arrive: imagine that! (Time dilation itself is an underused concept, isn’t it?)
The fact that you can somehow still follow the plot along like this is nothing short of incredible
