By far, the best skate I've ever had & I've been rolling since the late 90's. Luckily I don't have the soul plate issue that your size has. I'm a size 9 and the soul plates on those are damn near flush with the boot. As far as Prime liner goes...I know everyone's riding the Intuition hype train & I do like my Intuition Premiums but if I had to pick, the Prime all day. I've seen folks say they don't like the squishy tongue, personally I'm a fan. I'm skating them with Super Fluid IVs & I can't think of anything I'd want more in a setup. I just saw the new IQON team skate...damn, might have to get those too.
Thank you! I was actually a bit bummed about this one because I forgot to turn off auto focus so it kept slightly zooming in and out. But overall I’ve tried to get better with it all. :) thanks for watching!
@JanWelch: Nice review, I got a AG20 as well aprox. one year ago and made similar experience. I found out that IQON used a 43-44 soul plate instead of a 41-42 on my boot. I got a spare one in 41-42 and it does fit without gaps. I don't really know why they did that, but It seems you have the same problem with your skate. I changed the hiking shoe kind of rivets to normal round ones. After bailing several time some of them were almost broken of. Also the buckel is not the most resistant one. Mine still work, but the metal got bend quite a bit. Other than this I am very happy with the boot. I agree, the liner is very comfortable. I upgraded the cuff to the carbon version and I really like the extra support with this mix.
For me I think it's a pro being boot only, I really don't like skate brand adding a basic frame, or IMO a frame that just doen't cut it on a boot example Roces, Razor, basic frames, or a Kizer Fliud 5 frame. One of the worse frames to grind IMO. In most cases you save money not adding frame, and use what you already have, or buy frame that you really want to add to a boot only setup. Another wonderful video Jan, love the interview you do too :P
All valid points. I think it's more a con being boot-only because of the price. I agree with you about the convenience of boot-only releases, and it's what I love about the sways. I may have done a poor job of conveying that in the video. Thanks so much for watching, and I will be getting back to doing some interviews here very soon. Is there anyone you'd like to see on the show?
Thanks so much for sending these over Jan. I’ve been searching for a lightweight UFS boot, IDEALLY one I can put different rigs on for big wheel and so on. Tried Carbons and was going good for a while but had ankle rub issues which I think is common. I just got some UFR but the cuff is a real issue on those atm. Looking at a solve there. Will definitely let you know how it goes. Will film some old man skate clips.
Thanks for being seemingly the only person to actually review these things without just reading the back of the box! I've been on sways for almost a year now, ordered the new gawds, but they killed my upper ankle and had to return them. Do you experience any pain in the cuff area? And do these feel properly premium compared to the usd sways? Thanks again!
I also had the Sways before the AG20s and I can can tell you the AG20s are very comfortable and are a much higher quality skate than the sways. The liners are amazing and I use them in other skate set ups some time. Definitely happy with these skates.
Great review Jan! I've been riding AG20s for nearly a year now and LOVE them. My only complaint is the soul plate not looking especially flush with the boot, as you mentioned. I was wondering what size of wheel you use as outers in your Oysi frames? I'm considering using a 64mm outer and 56mm inner but wasn't sure if I'd need to drill a recess into the soul plate to make space for the outer wheels. Thanks!
Has anyone skated both the AG20 and Faction V1? I’m wondering if someone could weigh in on how they compare and which they would recommend over the other.
I recently bought these only skated them a few times, the gap around the soul plate is disappointing and the stitching around the soul of the liner is really poor and not even, they’ve really cheaped out on it. I’ve got some of the old blue Sam crofts 2nd skins and they’ve got twice the amount of stitching around the soul compared to the new ones.
The stitching around the soul of the liner isn't clean; you are right about that. For the AG20, it didn't bother me, though, because the soul plate hides it for the most part. It's much more noticeable to me on the AG10 riding them without the soul plates on wizard frames.
I’ve been skating these a while and my personal take aways from this skate are that powerslide really messed up with the liners. They are really comfy, but that tongue is way too soft, always felt like i was about to fall forwards out of the skates 😂. The stitching on them is also really not good. I tried to remedy this by buying the newest myfit prime liners, unfortunately those giant new tongues are absolutely useless with this type of cuff, the tongues just slide to the sides and you still have that mad forward flex problem, also the stitching on those liners is absolutely horrendous! Already seen the bottoms fall off of some peoples liners where the stitching has broken. The remedy for this was using my intuition prime liners, but taking off the removable cuff so that gave me extra room in the toe area to stretch the toes out. Soul plate is a total miss-match with the boot, same as the Gawds, the gaps just look ridiculous, especially on a skate this premium, but i can live with it. I also swapped out the laces for some shorter waxed ones. All in all a great and really comfortable skate. Love them paired with my 50/50 Prime frames. Hope this helps people out.
Oh man that’s a bummer! I only get to aggressive skate a few times a month so I probably didn’t get nearly as much use out of mine, or the opportunity to wear them out as quick as on yours.
Jan do me a favour and tell them you’re a US size 11 from now on😂 Also let me know how When you coming to Canada bro I need someone to fill me so bad there’s not really much skaters in Toronto the scene is dead and not totally dead but there’s no good indoor skate parks the best one is like two hours away which is weird for a major city or you might as well just drive to Montreal

Please report back if you have any luck with another cuff Chris! My UFR’s have been relegated to a recreational only skate due to that overly stiff and restrictive cuff (for aggressive)
I saw someone at the park with the USD carbon soul plates on, looked much better 👍
Hmm. I didn't think about trying those on there.
Yeah good idea

I have the 11/12 skate, but I have 10.5 TF gawds. Same soul plate. I put the 10.5 gawds on the iqon, fixed the gap perfectly. I hated that gap to
I love the high def: vid, sound, edits and the overall clarity in your current vid experience. Well done, I look forward to more from you.

Now I’m so glad i bought the farmers last year. Because i love how they feel as well.
Nice!!
Personally the Soulplate just being slapped on there looks pretty cool, I think.
I'm still on the fence about it, but I'm really excited about the new Iqon skates they teased at Blading Cup
Thanks Jan this was really cool
Heck yea! Thanks for watching!
I really really like the chris farmer liner

Awesome! Can’t wait to see them! I hope you enjoy!
Just put a usd carbon/carbon free soul plate and it’ll fit perfect it’s the same mold
That's what they should have used on them in the first place.
BEST SKATE EVER❤
AG20 😍
I hate that sole plate gap too. It looks so unfinished/disconnected.
Agreed... these skates are just getting more and more comfortable. Very nice indeed! Question. What wheels and size are you rolling?
On the Oysius frames, I was riding Undercover 68mm bullet wheels on the outside and Undercover flat profile 55mm on inside

Glad you are loving them. I am running 68mm on the outside with 55mm inside with the original size Oysius Chasis.
@@JanWelch sweet, thanks dude
I love it

@@Andrew_DC5 I've got the 50/50 prime frames on my sways now and I'm really digging that setup.
Both toes on my ag20s wore out within the first few weeks and both cuff buckles started failing within 2 months
Oh man that’s a bummer! I only get to aggressive skate a few times a month so I probably didn’t get nearly as much use out of mine, or the opportunity to wear them out as quick as on yours.
Great video!!! Two questions: How would you compare the AG10/20 to the Adapt Brutale and have had a chance to the CL10?
Im very interested in trying these skates. But I feel like it breaks very very fat skating concrete parks ?
I only skate concrete parks and they've help up great.
Is this a GAWDS Tim Franken with a different skin??
