I really enjoyed this video. Some of it was a reminder for me to lock layers, use Q and W for ripple edits and a new tips were very helpful.

I took track targeting off for some imported effects to work and of course, ripple edits would not work. Drove me mad. This video clarifies my newbie mistake - this site
is pure gold for those of us who are NOT pro editors. Thank you. Subscribed and liked. Clear, concise tutorials are your forte.

4:14 I want to add: there is another way to ripple trim without messing all the tracks: there is "Toggle sync lock" button on every track, it prevents track from ripple triming if the track is not targeted

Yes, probably the most effective way to work is to use the sync lock, because you can easily access the clips if you need to, without the annoying process of locking-unlocking-relocking. And personally I think that when you use sync lock on a track that a really helpful shortcut is “E” for extend edit when you need to adjust the length of a clip.

Thanks for the tips! Is there a way to disable the auto cut function when two clips are overlapped on the same timeline?
I have lost many clips because of accidentally overlapping clips, and the clips are cut automatically. This happens with video and audio clips. I have a lot of clips with half the audio cut off, because it was overlapped even though I was being careful not to overlap the video.
