    Love this video. Just watched it 2 times. My question is. How do you do a Direct Cut Inside and Out with a SVG or Cut File? I saw that when you Scanned the image and did a Direct Cut Inside and Out and then Save it. I would like to see a video on Direct Cut Inside and Out on a SVG File in Canvas WorkSpace. Thank you.

    Hi Julie. Thanks so much for all your videos. Question: I'm having the reverse of this issue. When I direct cut, it cuts the outline AND Every.Single.Line within the design. I've tried increasing the ignore size and that helps to a point. How do I get it to simply cut the outside outline? I realize this video is really old and you may never see my plea for help, but if you can I would so appreciate.

    • @BalzerDesigns
      @BalzerDesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so. Embossing powder is plastic. It might dull the blade.

    I am realy new to all this and watching your brilliant videos. Can I ask you please, when doing this design you use the low tack Cutting mat instead of the scan n cut mat. Does that mean you dont necessarily need the 'scan and cut' mat?

    • @BalzerDesigns
      @BalzerDesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on what you're scanning. If you're only scanning things printed out on paper, you don't need a scanning mat.

  • @cross247
    @cross247 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do I select just a partial inside line? For example, I cut out several stamped images like baskets but I just want it to cut the space between the handle and the basket.

    • @BalzerDesigns
      @BalzerDesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'd have to manually edit to create that kind of cut.

    • @cross247
      @cross247 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your reply. Just to clarify, do you mean manually edit on ScannCut canvas using the trace feature? Just asking because I'm not having much luck with that. One more questions, how do I get the Enhanced Tracing Feature activation card? I've searched all over the internet and there is no information other than the videos here on TH-cam from Brother 6 months ago. It seems that this enhanced feature is what I would need to manually edit specific sections of an image.

    • @BalzerDesigns
      @BalzerDesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Enhanced Tracing is not currently available in the US. Try using the delete functions in Direct Cut just before the final cut to edit out the cuts you don't want.

    • @cross247
      @cross247 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll try that thank you so much for your reply. Can't wait until the enhanced function comes to US.

    Lets say I want to make four across and four down, aka multiple of the same.
    How would you make multiple’s. I’m making paper engine gaskets and want to make multiple’s of the same.
    Also I can’t get small holes to cut out about 1/16” diameter. I can see them on preview but they don’t cut out everything else does.

    HI, is it possible to cut a negative margin ? eg(-1mm) (-2mm) I would like to scan and cut a line completely out, leaving my image inside my template, but leaving no trace of a template line. I have the CM300, is there a download or plug-in function for this ?
    Thanks, Best regards, Phil

      You'd have to manually edit to get that effect. Scan to Cut Data -- choose the second option -- save the design. Don't unload the mat. Then call up the file, edit the outsides out and cut.

    hi PRINT ON 100PCS A4 PAPER THE NUMBER 9 COLOR DESIGN AROUND 5 PART OF NUMBER 9 EVRY A4 PAPER. WHAT I NEED TO DO IS TO CUT INSIDE OUTSIDE THIS NUMBER 9 BUT NEED TO DO IT TO ALL THE 100 PAPERS a4 so the steps u show it take for me many time. do u have other whay to do it ?

    • @BalzerDesigns
      @BalzerDesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope. For an accurate cut, you have to scan every time. If you feel the paper and the number are on the mat in the exact same place every time, you can scan once and then just keep cutting the same file over and over.

    Julie I love you videos for the Scan n Cut as I have learned so much from you. I love this video about the Scan N Cut: Direct Cut Inside & Out but I was wondering if you could could tell me used the scan to cut data like you did as I want to be able to emboss with my new embossing kit but I would like to be able to cut on both side of the line in some of my designs as I would like them to look like dies and not just emboss the design and cut it on the outside line. If this is not possible can you tell me any other way I could do this. I have seen someone do it on tv once but my record machine did not work and it was not on repeat I have tried finding it but so far I have had not any luck in doing so until I came across your video today about direct cut both the inside and the outside. I appreciate any help you could give me Julie as I have cancer and am only getting used to my machine it is the scan n cut 900 edition
