Would have to fact check me here. I'm not 100 certain, but I believe the Catholic church already translated the Vulgate into the vernacular before Wycliffe
The early church fathers were some of the first to walk away from Paul’s doctrine for the church, the body of Christ and follow the apostles doctrine for Israel under the law! Sad
Is the "Eternal functional subordination of the Son" an evangelical way of saying "the Monarchy of the Father". The word "functional subordination" sounds off but labels could mean anything.
functional subordination refers to the subordination of the Son in the immanent Trinity. Meaning, that Jesus even before he was incarnate had a subordinate role to the Father in function. Not that He is lesser than the Father but has always (eternally) had a role of subordination within the Godhead. It's a novel idea in evangelical theology.
A PROTESTANT RESPONSE. I encourage all Christians regardless of your particular tradition to study early church history. There are many excellent Protestant scholars who have written on early church history. I recommend not only reading early church history from a Roman Catholic perspective as this gentleman does here but read Protestant and Eastern Orthodox scholars as well. Do keep in mind that the early church is not the exclusive property of any one Christian tradition (ie Roman Catholic). Roman Catholic is not the early church anymore than Protestant. She is our common heritage and our common mother. I can recommend Protestant academics who have written on the early church if anyone is interested.
good stuff !!!
Plus all Protestant Bibles are missing key books

Who preserved the Faith in that time then?
@@KyleWhittington are you trying to follow Christ via His earthly ministry to Israel under the law? Yes or no?
