I go to a Catholic parish in Boulder Colorado, one of the most liberal cities in the country. 80% of the parish is college students, and we have two young priests. And it’s also one of the most conservative, orthodox parishes I’ve ever been to. The homilies are so refreshing. The Novus Ordo is exclusively psalms and traditional hymns with pipe organ. Everyone goes to adoration on Sundays. I say this to say, have hope. Young people are craving orthodoxy and tradition.
We attend a Catholic Church in Denver and my two young adult children live in Boulder - praying for their conversion to the Catholic Church ⛪️. Thank you for your prayers for them God bless you 🙏
I’m pretty much out of Catholicism but I’ve never heard anyone say that things were perfect before Vatican 2 and it seems to be one of the most common and dishonest arguments against traditional circles
Good to see Catholics speaking out against liberalism. However, the more we look at liberalism as something coming from without, the more people are going to question our perception. Why? Because we have an enormous amount of liberalism coming from the Church and Rome herself. In this episode, you guys get into that but listeners also get the sense that it is not that bad, or that Rome is not in the midst of this scandal. Understandably, I'm sure the clock keeps things limited. But I did want to say one thing - Kyle mentions "suffering in silence". However, suffering in silence is one thing. You can't be faulted for that. However, it is not, ipso facto, the only virtuous response. I'm sure the producers here agree. Even more egregious is seeing people not just suffering in silence, but actually ignoring the pain and destruction and making others feel like they are crazy and criminal for noticing it. This is what happens from channels such as Reason and Theology (Michael Lofton), Voice of Reason (The Voice), Where Peter Is (Michael Lewis), and many others. We are going on many decades of this and more and more people are showing their intolerance of Catholics not giving sober assessments of the situation in Rome. It was said in the video that we shouldn't judge a Church by its bad members. But see, that still just nibbles at the edges of the big issue, namely, that it is not just bad behavior, but denials of the Gospel (Gal. 1:6-9) coming from the top down. I was at least glad to see Kyle admit reasonable people can interpret Pope Francis's recent comments to be religious pluralism. It would have been more accurate for him to have said something stronger, but I'm happy to see that given the wasteland of sobriety among the Catholic social media production industry.
@@Erick_Ybarra you’ll be in town in December right? We can speak in person about this because I agree with a lot of what you say but I’d push back in other places. Either way, I think the conversation would be much more enjoyable for both of us over a cigar and a glass of whiskey.
As much as I'd like to be privy for such a conversation, I bet that cigar and whiskey session would be way better off camera. Please enjoy, and let us plebes stew in our envy
But why has Richard Rohr not been excommunicated?! That’s the more difficult problem for me. His heresy is easy to understand. The Church’s tolerance of it is not.
Honestly? The answer I believe is just extraordinarily underwhelming: weak leadership. Most prelates seem highly resistant to using any sort of disciplinary measures.
@@KyleWhittington And what is the reason for that? Do you think the reluctance stems from practical concerns about priest shortages? Or do you think it has more to do with spiritual anemia and corruption?
@@SocraticBeliever there’s certainly a spiritual aspect. Past that, I’m sure there’s a myriad of reasons. But all of this is in the realm of speculation at this point. But the solution is prayer and to raise sons to be better priests. And pray for Fr Rohr. He is not a young man.

Yeah, the people calling Trent a woman are just trying to give him his own medicine but I think there is more to take from it. These people don't actually know that Trent is a man despite Trent's own knowledge and they might just think Trent looks like a woman. Honestly, I think we should just take people by their word instead of analyzing how well someone meets our personal beauty and societal standards. Otherwise, we will actually run into sincere scenarios where people will call someone like Trent a woman. People were and still are calling Imane Khelif a man despite her being a woman. Also, who really wants to be the giant butt who calls the woman with pcos or the woman who detransitioned a man because she has a beard. Knowing for certain about someone's gender requires alot of invasion of privacy and even lab tests sometimes. It is just better to take people at their word.

I have a feeling the guy who ran the buttons for this is quite handsome. And he didn’t mess up the audio. You should hire him again.

"I have ABUNDANT evidence that I'm a man."
Was that a size joke?
I think it was in reference to his having produced children.
I see Trent is really scraping the bottom of the barrel of interviewers.
Someone needs to do a whole show on Father Richard Rorh he is leading people off a cliff
Trent does have an episode that released last year of Fr Rohr.

Yeah, that’s not how the Church is structured. Christ is King and His authority flows down through His ministers.
