- Kandahar the song is about life at Kandahar Air Base in Afghanistan. Everything was filmed, photographed, recorded and edited at Kandahar (KAF) except the stuff that wasn't. Yep, Rocket Attacks, the Poo Pond and reflective belts are a way of life at KAF. Enjoy
Awesome song, wish it was on iTunes! Thank you ALL every one of you for your service and fighting for us. If I could do more I would but thanking you is what I can do! You are definitely NEVER forgotten by me or my family. My cousin who I'm 16 days older is a Desert Storm Veteran! Thank you all our military!
Actually Ma'am, it is available on I-Tunes. Please look up Kandahar by Mic & Olley. It is on the "What's The Price of Freedom 2+" Album. We are glad you enjoyed it!
Was there as Security Forces February-August 2010 during the barrage of rockets and 2 ground attacks. This deployment changed my life for better or worse! Such a nostalgic video in 2023! 🥹😀🙂🫡
Fellow Airman here. I was deployed to KAF in 2013. When you mentioned that we were safe because of reflective belts, I spit out my coffee from laughing. Thanks, I needed that!
I'm one of those Canadians. Thanks for the video, it brought back fond memories and put a smile on my face which I really needed today.
Im canada where are you.
@Gurka how does it feel to be an occupiers and Killing innocent Oldmen, children and women in the name of terrorism, a poor country which is hundred and thousands of miles away from your countries
I was there back working ATC when you wrote this song, awesome! I last left November 2017 and you wouldn't recognize it, the boardwalk was practically gone, the poo pond moved but the aroma didn't, most of the base had closed up, with the Afghans taking control of everything past the hospital.
You make my day! I been there done that! Three years experience at KAF, I'll always remember 💛
My little brother just got back from Kandahar. God bless those of you still there.
I was in Kandahar on a mission in 2014 year.Good song :) I am from Georgia #GE
Panther made just about all of our cds drops in the village of Hesar, Oruzgan. When I was evaced back to Tarin Kowt they put me on a panther flight to KAF. I appreciate the lift fellas! 2011
You are welcome! Thank you for your service!
I spent a little over 2 years there from 2009-2014 with Liberty. I nearly gagged from reflex when you were in front of the poo pond. Horrible place but some good memories, thanks for the song.
My uncle is in Kandahar and he said that americans are behaving like its a game and not war
Merry Christmas to our big family here in KAF! Romanias from near the Area Fifty Poo salutes you.
I was there in 2012... really wish this song was on iTunes! We all enjoyed this song - helped bunches!
LOL... thanks for sharing. We all at our COP had a good laugh. Lucky, we only go to KAF 1-2 a month.. Poo Pond, Canadian Hockey, Rocket Attack, 12 MPH, Refelctive Belts (Lucky we gone before we have to wear), SKYPE, Pretty much nailed them all. even saw TGIF in background. Good job! Now when my family asks whats it like there, just refer them to the song.
I was there Jan 10 to May 10. This video brought back fond memories. Glad I could see it and I will be returning to KAF soon.
Brought back a bunch of memories. That place is still in what dreams I have. In a weird way I miss that damn place
Great job. Reminds me of the songs from Viet Nam. God bless all of you and my son who is there now.
Thanks for making this, guys and gals! And thank you to the Canadians for bringing a Tim Horton's to KAF. It isn't a Dunkin' Donuts, but it's a great substitute!
Love it! I just saw my hubby in the video. Praying for EVERYONE deployed this Christmas season. We stand behind you and support you 100%!
My dad is over there
This is a great video and it almost makes me miss Kandahar, almost.
I keep coming back to this vid.. Reminds me of my time there.. The good and the bad.. heh. Ya'll be safe now ya hear! :D
D day. Format
From a Canadian who just left there on 4 Dec 11, thank you for a wonderful song a photos. I actually miss the place already!!
Chief! You the man! Nice compilation. Just got back myself.
It is nice to know some people had a vacation in Kandahar, the hardest vets from Afghanistan stayed in KAF their whole tour. True fact!!!
NAVCENT Representing...Thanks guys for not leaving us out
AMAZING! I miss that place...only a little.
I was there in 2009 with the Royal Danish Air Force One of the great places I've been in afghanistan
Skyping with my brother and then hearing the rocket attack , had to go. Scary times. Thanks for everyone involved. America loves you.
The sound of the alarm brought back plenty of memories. Bring on March to do it all again!
This was awesome, I'm here right now smelling the poo pond and running around with my reflective belt and blowing sand outta my nose. It's lots and lots of fun. The rocket attacks and AC's over head blowing crap up in the middle of the night. It's awesome! But I love the video and thank it's great.
This video is so true! I wish i had a picture of the first time i smelled the poo pond!
I hear the poo pond is the best place to go swimming! lol Good job on the video.
I ran the PMT teams in Kandahar Province 07-08. I enjoyed the song about all the Fobbits living in the lap of luxury. I was thankful everyday to be outside the wire and NOT on KAF. No reflective belts, no SGMs telling my guys not to wear boonie hats, and trusting my guys with loaded weapons because that is what we did. Going in for resupply always sucked and we were happy to get back into the field. That said, a donut at Tim Horton's was ALWAYS welcome.
Love it! Stay safe, and watch out for that Poo Pond.:)
Love it! Brings back memories lol
We love this, were glad the soldiers can take a bad situation and turn it around! We also love the voice of the soldier who sings it. We would love to hear more from him, Id buy that C.D.!
When I was there I couldn't wait to get out of that place... Years later.. I often find myself thinking about KAF and how would it be to go back at least for a couple of days.. Just to wake up early in the morning and hear the AC loud as hell, walk to the latrine and be disgusted by some things.. Go to the DFAC and complain how there's nothing to eat while we had all the damn food we needed and wanted.. What a weird experience this was, I long for it and but I'd never do it again.. I don't know how to describe it but I'm glad I've been through it.
Brings back!!!!!! Saluts from HOLLAND!!!!
Airpower with a twist! :-) Gotta love them reflective belts! LOL!! Airmen never lose their sense of humor!! Keep on keeping on! God speed...
ROCK ON BROTHER! MY POP TOLD ME TO CHECK THIS OUT. GOOD STUFF!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!
GOD BLESS!
I too thought I had hear the "rocket attack" alarm for the last time ha ha. I miss the place a bit as well, met really cool folks doing amazing things :)
I love the humor....and the bunker disco! Thank you for sharing with those of us who have family serving there right now.
I love this song. Great work. Sadly still get feelings of nostalgia from my Kandahar deployment in 2011-2012.
From another Canadian that just left there on 4 DEC 11 I have to say I actually am missing it.
Wicked song, you did a great job. I have shared it on my FB and with my family here at home.
Crazy Canadian that played hockey in the crazy assed heat.
-Brother in Arms

Great song! Good luck and god speed home!
This is AWESOME!!!! I LOVE the creativity with this! Been back 3 months from there, but I still remember all "the sites" that are in this video!
Great Thanks for yalls service.
thanks for the nostalgia!!!!
Mick, you are awesome! You've got a couple of hits on your hands, you know! Keep 'em coming!
Outstanding and quite entertaining song, but nowhere near as outstanding as our men and women fighting for our freedoms. You are appreciated, honored, humbling, and most importantly, loved and prayed for. Thank you all for your service and God Bless you and may he bring you home safely.
Thank You just doesn't seem enough! Thank you for the song, and Thank You to all at Kandahar for doing what you are doing.
Thanks for taking me back!
This video is hilarious! I was singing all day yesterday after watching it! I really like the part about the reflective belts, LOL
Very nice work. Great video and message. Thanks for your service!
Was there for 19months ending April and call me crazy but I miss the place.. I miss my KAF family.
Great song :))) God Bless all troops :) I was in KAF ( 2008-2009 ; 2010 ) as a sniper:) Sniper one ,out . Hooah
Great video. I remember the sirens. I don't miss the smell of the poo-pond but miss the hockey games, on the boardwalk, and the Timmy's. Thanks for mentioning the Canadians. We have left KAF and wish those remaining a happy and healthy new year. Yours aye...
Simply Brilliant.
To all of those who have negative comments on this I say GROW UP! The troops have to have a down time to stay sane! Everyone in the military has a job to do so you soldiers that think that AF has it easy well they don't they fight just like you do. If they didn't fix the planes you wouldn't get supplies or food. Support each other. Don't tear anyone down. All military members fight for us!
At KAF, my team and I had to announce what would piss us off most if we made Sergeant Major. Decided mine would be that all Soldiers have to carry an inspectable reflective belt in their right calf pocket... EVEN WHEN THEY'RE ALREADY WEARING A REFLECTIVE BELT BECAUSE IT'S NIGHT TIME. Thank you, Kandahar, for making me so hardcore.
Atkinson, Holy shit! I forgot my reflective belt man! I just knew that was your beautiful voice. Stay classy home boy! Go Bulldogs......and Broncos.
I LOVE THIS! How did I miss this? And why does it not have a million views. I found it by accident, was watching the TH-cam Channel, LtThompsonCS, his video he made for "Angel Flight"by Radney Foster. So I thought, this guy may have some good music on his playlists. So on his playlist titled, "Military Tribute", your Kandahar the Song is the 9th song. I will put it on my playlist, "Bandit 1-37". Anyone that has been through Kandahar should appreciate this video. You get 5 Stars from me brother. Salute!
Its a great song but full of lies, America is the devils playground, ass fukkin another man, premarital sex, consumption of alcohol, pedophilia will be legal in a year or 2, but by then ull be brainwashed to think thats normal aswell.
Great song I honestly enjoyed that.
Awesome! God Bless!!
I remember when you made this video chief. Was with the aerial port there. Good serving with you.
wow! lake duce. thanks for helping me remember the pungent aroma of lake duce.
Awesome song man, I was there in 2006, brings back so many memories, good, and bad ones unfortunately.
The fist few lines had me laughing so hard! TOO damn accurate!! LOL
I loved going to All Seasons on our morale/resupply trips to KAF. Those fried egg burgers were freakin LEGIT
Awesome Mickey. Great Job.
Thanks, this is good stuff. I'm leaving Kandahar in 8 days...
Awesome!!! Love it man!
That was awesome...
God Bless you all. Thank you so much for your service.
Fantastic Video!!!! From the RAF Herc's :D
Danny
Awe, the memories, was there Oct 09 - Mar 10, I remember all that & the flood of Jan '10! They might send me back someday, but probably not, lost my husband there in May. Stay safe everyone.
Nice, remember it again.;-) even the sound of the warningsystem for rocket attack

Don't know they guy who wrote this song... But he has captured the absolute essence of life in KAF!!!!

Beautiful song ❤️❤️
God Bless! This actually made me cry - because I miss it! something's wrong lol
Me too! You are mia...listen again
EDET 2413 Rack ‘Em! I was there from 08-09. It would have been nice to have the rocket attack alarm come in BEFORE the freakin’ rockets hit! LOL
Under new management !!! Hopefully they bring back family swimming day.
awesome song. haha i love how u have the rocket attack sirens in there. lol I was on KAF for A year and a half. Definition of Hell. But they tried to make it liveable. lol I worked in Class 1... Good Times
Love this song, and I agree with Jaimie Bauer he is making the best of this place,
Spent 6+ months there...it is rough, but you make the best of it.
fun to watch after 11months away, hoping to never go back again....
I listened to this in 2012 when I was there in KAF. Had good times and bad times. Crazy to think none of this is there anymore and what’s left is in the hands of the enemy. Green Bean coffee and cigars from the British PX 👌🏽
What month were you there? My uncle was SSGT. Tyler J. Smith and died April 9th 2012 in Khandahar.
@@warthunderclips69 February - May time frame
@@Aerialgunnerx84 Did you ever meet him?
@@warthunderclips69 no I don’t think I have. What was his career field? Sorry for your loss too man. Afghanistan wasn’t worth the lives we lost.

this is hilarious!! i like bunker disco!! why didnt we think of that! lmao. and how is he standing at the poo pond so long!!!??? ahh! and damn, that all clear was so eerie.. FLASHBACKS!!
Really Cool Vedio.....
I see the terminal "Welcome to Kandahar" paint job is still intact. I had my picture taken in front of it in 2006. Missed out on the TGI Fridays! That was after my time. I remember Pizza Hut and Tim Hortons in the Quad and Green Beans by the terminal. There was no Tim Hortons at Bagram, so we were always the heros when we brought back a few boxes of doughnuts.
nice song .I like so learning guitar .
Brings back memories!!! :D
I remember too much of what this video shows! Stay strong and stay away from the Poo Pond!
I logged in to like this...
@ Thomas I got off of KAF as much as possible but being RC(S) staff made it difficult at times. I usually saw the take offs, landings and heard the rocket attack alarm. I walked to and from work past the Boardwalk every day. I didn't get to enjoy the "perks of KAF" like others did lol
thats so awsome reminds me of the place im at... oh wait im still here hahaha
True story man. I did some time in KAF, but also got outside the wire on some trips which was also a little dicey. Anyways, your'e right, people need combat support and combat service support. Never seen a real infanteer talk shit to me about being a comms specialist because I rode with them and provided a vital service. Disturbingly, seeing the KAF ECP was sometimes a welcome sight -
