been in them when I was a kid.. my kid sister screamed the whole way round.. excellent.. also Clearwell Caverns in the Forest of Dean.. not on the stupid tour.. Was down in the forest with a friend and we came upon a hole in the ground with a tunnel at the bottom.. being brats we had a source of fire (what country kids didn't have matches and a candle in the 70's?) so we went in exploring.. after a while we popped out in a large cavern just as the "tour" came out of a hole on the other side.. they looked at us.. and we looked at them.. then we buggered off back in our hole and explored some of the side passages we had found
Hi Matthew, Thanks for the walk around the caves, The first cave was definitely the best, The second one was rubbish, I don't think it was worth £22-95 , I love the drone footage 👍👍
I went to Lacock yesterday and had a hour to kill so because of your videos I went to see Rudloe Manor and other places aswell and seeing all the slope shafts knowing full well what's below. Was great to see it in person!
Well I've been having a horrible night no sleep high anxiety and panic attacks thank you for really taking me out of my head needed to just chill out with a channel I really enjoy
I remember going to Cheddar on many occasions as a child for an outing on a Sunday and picking up pebble sweets from the sweet shop there. Great to see this explore.
Oh yea, Ray and Steve i like them also! I've watched for time, usually i dont comment and am just a casual observer in the background, the intro music bro 👍👑
These are ancient underground cities, inner earth. They dont want you shining your light up or in certain places because they dont want you seeing certain stuff I bet. Also, I feel like that guy was tailing you guys bc the cameras and youtube channels lol. How did he get so close so fast?! Great video, you guys have so much cool stuff in the UK.
Total bollocks. These caves are at ground level into the gorge. In theory not inner earth🤦♂️ and for millions of years were under water, and only the front of the cave was inhabited by humans....... you're probably a flerfer too I bet 🙄🤦♂️
I remember visiting cheddar gorge about 30 years ago. Looks so much different than what I remember. Doesn't look as good now, and what happened to the massive dragon at the exit?
Great video Matt 👍 thanks for sharing 👍 enjoyed this 👍 beautiful places some of these old caves look forward to seeing yr next video 👍glad they allow the public into see this! Not sure they shud charge, which I'm sure they do, and shame they block so much of it off.. anyway amazing old place and great to see, so thanks Matt 👍💖and surprised they moaned about yr lights when the place is lit up like a Christmas tree 🎄 lol 🤣and I agree Matt the whole video thing is annoying cos like u say u can watch all that when u get home, u go to these places to see the caves and the history not a film!! I didn't like all the music and voiceovers that they did too, cud see much better with yr torchlight too Matt that second cave was beautiful but u cudnt see much of it cos all those silly coloured lights, ruined it really, still enjoyed seeing both of these just better with u explaining things like u normally do, not there annoying loud music and background chat!! X
Maybe I should not say but back in the day ... we used to race quick bikes up and down the gorge ... how no one ever had an accident i do not know ... skill , luck I do not know , but I would not try that any more ! At Gough's cave entrance there used to be a wooden hut for a caving club . Around 1990 , could be out be a few years here mind , I went to the cave to have a caving experience , proper caving not a tourist visit . It was great . If you can go and try proper pot holing .
Had a very nice time at the caves but would have been better if the couple with the little dog could stop it from yapping. If you cannot control them in a tourist attraction then don’t take them in !
I came here because apparently these caves inspired the glittering caves in JRR Tolkiens famous series the Lord of the rings 25:25 the guide mentions it 😊
We live just up the road in Burnham-on-Sea, and come here to walk our dogs, and go to Italian Restaurant LaRocca, just up the road! There is also a great seller of Sadoli Italian dairy ice cream(Welsh Italian Family!), who sell's 80 varieties!!! We were looking at going in these caves with our dogs, but don't now need too! First caves were good, but second was a complete waste of time(and money!). The £22.95p entry was a rip-off!!!

Aww Brilliant Matt. I loved the drone footage. I came here on a school trip loved it.
A bit of hard techno is always a good start to an exploring video👍
The rave tunes in the intro thought i was at a illegal rave in the 90s lol

Great video Matt! Not sure if I’ve been to cheddar gorge, definitely been to wooky hole! And I agree box mine is much better 😂
I remember visiting cheddar gorge about 30 years ago. Looks so much different than what I remember. Doesn't look as good now, and what happened to the massive dragon at the exit?
You're a legend.
Check out Wookey Hole, just down the road from Cheddar Gorge and also Kents Caverns in Babbacombe in Torquay... Great video

Good video looks great love to see the caves without the Disney style light shows everywhere and the constant vacuum cleaner sound.
I always wanted to go here now I have, but where was the cheese?
The film stuff with the second cave was so hokie and a distraction from the beauty of the cave's natural features.
That woman clearly got the hots for you mate hahahahaha
Smashing, MUSHROOMS? would be great
I came here because apparently these caves inspired the glittering caves in JRR Tolkiens famous series the Lord of the rings
25:25 the guide mentions it 😊
Holy shit thoes guys were base jumping off the gorge.😱😱
the second cave would definitely not be better on acid
Yeah, you're promoting their visitor centre to 50k. £23 quid is taking the piss. A tenner would have been more than ample
in joy matt wasa good but like said on end relly mest it up goin out would want be so people come back .pass that place 3 times wk not goin in there .
Nice techno beats
Shame it's so sanitized there, but I guess it makes it accessable for all.
Those caves belong to our ancestors from hunter gatherers. We should not pay for entering. I've been but refused to pay. 🏴
Who should pay for all the infrastructure and other costs to keep the caves safe and open?
@@djviper79 those caves have been there for thousands of years and still standing and not moved. Light????? Torches!
The infrastructure is unnecessary and safety is overdone! 👌
.....when you weren't just taking the piss not a bad video......5 out od 10....
That Richard Gough pic looks like Albert Pike the Freemasion. Morals and Dogma
£22 a rip off , should have got money back for the second one ,
Give us discount were TH-camrs lmao
I went as a kid with my parents back in the 70s and it was free.its sad how they turn it into a money maker
18:50 they look good
Welcome to Cheddah Gawg
Last cave not good with there light's

I live in Burnham on sea, and larocca is the best Italian around.

Have you tried Ogni Volta in Burnham high street, opposite the fishmongers, as he is very good also!
Honestly l, most funniest ever lol
Second cave is disappointing films lights and lazers not the natural cave like goughs
It's not abondoned though
Big fish 🐟
Small fish 🐟
