OMG I didn't realize this but Diane Gaidry died on Jan. 30, 2019. This is so sad. She died of liver failure after a battle with cancer and was only 54.

Definitely had a crush on a teacher in college, no teachers in my HS to have a crush on. It's interesting cause the older you get, the more you identify with the adults in movies cause if I had seen this movie in high school, I probably wouldn't have cared about how inappropriate the relationship was.
I even had a crush on my teacher in the first grade. I guess i'm just super gay😂 yeah, right now it just looks weird but when i was a teenager i wanted to be annabelle so bad!

I think they got Sara Bareilles song because she was still unknown. This movie came out in 2006. Sara Bareilles first album came out in 2004 called Careful Confessions and was an independently produced debut studio album. Her debut major-label album Little Voice came out in 2007.

When the Night is Falling is awesome, soundtrack and whole feel of the movie is original, only complaint is the white English chick is annoying and put her dead dog in the fridge, she clearly has issues

Tracey V. It is pretty much about this teenager Cyd and her Aunty. Cyd explores her sexuality and that's pretty much it. It is a nice indie film without a heavy plot, which is kind of the point. It is a refreshing break from a lot of the other heavy LGBTQ+ films out there

There was an added ending on the DVD and Simone didn't go to jail/they end up together.
The relationship is so inappropriate and creepy, I feel 50/50 on that ending. It really wouldn't have killed them to wait until Annabelle graduated, at least then it wouldn't have been 5-10 years.

I haven't seen anyone recommend watching "Show me love" so I will. It was the first lesbian movie I ever watched and it is about two teenage girls, so no weird inappropriate relationship there. It is a really nice coming of age movie from Sweden and is quite different from a lot of the films you have watched.
I LOVE that movie.
I remember watching this movie under my covers in my room as a freshman in high school. It made me feel so dirty and gross, and it’s really hard not to still feel that way, even now, as a freshman in college. This channel is so important. Seeing you guys watch these movies reminds me that liking girls isn’t wrong and it isn’t something I need to feel guilty about. Thank you ❤️

Don't know if there already was a suggestion for "When Night is Falling"? That was one of my first movies.
By the way, there was another movie with this story, a german one, "Mädchen in Uniform", or two to be exact, one is from 1931 and the other from 1958.
That's right "Girls in Uniform" to use the English translation, was also about a student-teacher relationship in which the girl loudly insisted there was nothing wrong about lesbian relationships.
The girl who plays Annabelle has a cameo in girltrash. Throwback!

I got confused for a moment. I legitimately thought youtube was having a bug for a second. I mean "Loving Annabelle? The teacher/student one. They already did this one." And then I remembered it was Bloomington and they are two different movies. x)
Anyway, to conclude : Don't bone your teacher or wait a semestre instead of 5 to 10 years.
I'm partly relieved, though. Of all the teacher/student I saw in movie or tv it's only the second one I saw getting arrested for it. And the first one was in an episode of a police drama. lol
Yeah but come one, Loving Annabelle is better than Bloomington ! In my opinion...
I've seen neither of the movie, hence why my mix up. All I knew is that it was a teacher/student things (which is why I didn't try to watch them before). Plus Mariel being a guest in this one too (there seem to be a theme, indeed).
From the little I've seen, Loving Annabelle does sound largely better. The ending for one. But just the characterization in general from what I've seen. In Bloomington the teacher was just... Let's say that woman should definitely have been arrested.
In this one, it was also more Annabelle that did the pursuing. It's still inappropriate but it seemed a lot less predatory.
You can a 100% like the movie and enjoy the interactions and condemn the fucked up aspects of the relationship! That's why this movie kinda works, there's a catalysis of sorts at the end to make you go "oh wait this was actually messed up and we were blinded by the love" (obviously it could've been done better, since there's no sign of remorse from the characters' side) but it's a start! It's also overall a much better movie than bloomington, script, filming, everything.
Katrina Diane Well we were a bit more condemning the teacher/student relation part, which could be in a way more dangerous because of the unbalance of powers...
I find it a little insane that you think any teacher/student relationship should not be condemned especially in a setting such as high school.
In hindsight this probably means you're in high school or quite young, please don't fuck your teachers no matter your age, you will regret it and the power they have over you.
