However, in this case, being locked-away for the rest of his life is nothing compared to the misery and pain he’s inflicted on people for decades……he’s a truly wicked person. So, while I respect your comment, I do feel it was over the top in this case. This guy took the life of several people and still is around doing this. Sometimes I feel that America gives too much freedom to people who arr clearly criminals. Its just so disrespectful to the victim's family is just so outrageous and sad.
Yes, but as the saying goes, it's better to set 100 guilty free than to jail a single innocent. Unfortunately, the courts are effed up enough now that it's not so uncommon for innocents to be convicted and criminals to roam free.
The sad thing is, that I can imagine even more loser defendants imitating Darrell Brooks' tactics in future cases, to stall their own guilty verdicts. After all, if they know that they're going away for life, then what do they have to lose by stalling? In addition, it doesn't help that the "Rules of Procedure" require a judge to put up with so much irrelevant, nonsensical, pointless crap from a defendant who deliberately wastes the court's time with his insane antics. We will see these kinds of tactics used again in future trials. Trust me.

“Writes something down to make it seem like he’s actually thinking about something”
That would have been the perfect time for the judge to say "Let it be noted for the record that the witness if referring to the Defendant: Darrell Brooks." But she's not allowed to troll him and the trial had already gone on long enough.
@@SpaceHippo420 Probably a doodle in crayon.

This guy is a real piece of work, it makes my blood boil 😡! He wants to make everyone, including the judge, seem as though they’re crazy or delusional. This witness estimated his height and weight and he made it sound like it was outrageous and couldn’t possibly be him.
lots of gaslighting
When he stood up and opened his jacket & asked if he looks 160 lbs, I would've said, yes. Yup, you look 5'9 and 160 lbs.
The estimate obviously bothered him.
The only way to beat a narcissist & control freak at their own game is to agree with them.
Sociopaths are very clever people. They play word games and try to make you think you're wrong simply. because you can't answer trick questions, or misleading questions. He also HATED being asked the same kind of questions he dished out.
@@Cruise_227 oh he's not a sociopath at all. He probably is a narcissist and likely has oppositional defiance disorder. That's my guess.

Many of these guys live their lives by lying, cheating, beating, and threatening others, and they never get cornered into defending themselves. They just run away or intimidate their way out of problems. Once they're in courtroom, their defense mechanisms are removed, and they can't run and hide. But they can act crazy.
Exactly! This is from childhood to adulthood.
Darrell Brooks was booked in at 5'8 and 150 pounds. The witness description of 5'9 and 160 pounds, is very close considering he was wearing a baggy hoody at the time. So I'm not sure what Perry Mason here thinks he's doing by standing up and asking him to look again.
I don't think that ever registered in Darrell Brooks's pea - sized brain.
Yeah, I could imagine Darrell Brooks yelling: "Objection! The witness previously stated that she saw a girl wearing a magenta-colored coat get struck by the SUV. Now, she's calling it a fuchsia-colored coat."
Great point. Imagine someone's description being an inch off and you try to go with that as a defense.
Does Brooks know "sUBstAiN" is not a word? Honestly, how many times does the judge have to say "sustain" before he finally gets it??
So his defense has switched from trying to prove it was an accident to now creating doubt that it was even him???
He's a soverign citizen, he believes that "darel brooks" is a corporation registered with the government of USA upon his birth, and if he doesn't consent to be called that then the USA government has no right to trial him, and therefore laws do not apply to him.
He's like: "Your Honor, my name is not Darrell Brooks, alright?!" Darrell Brooks is my client, who's sitting right next to me, as you can clearly see!"
He's been flip flopping this whole trial...He tries both strategies.
Who's him?
Yeah - all the clips I’ve seen is him questioning witnesses about their recollections and what they told police to try and prove there is not actual proof he was the one behind the wheel.
Bozo loves it when he has a one word answer to write down but it takes him five minutes
🤣🤣🤣
Objection! Grounds? I do not wished to be called by that name!
And it's probably spelled wrong
Are there any more clips of this witness? Love this guy.
"I was positive it was you"... Legend
I love the completely redundant "interesting" at 3:03 as if he's just uncovered something noteworthy from those questions 😂
That was a nice touch 😂
I'M LOOKING AT YOU!!! Exactly how everyone should answer! Perfect
The attorneys tore him a new one at the end of this clip 😂😂
@No limit ty The prosecutor said his appearance, such as is dreadlocks, is different today than it was at the time of the attack. This means she's pointing out the defendants questions are invalid and irrelevant.
Anyone who acts as their own attorney has a fool for a client. This guy has taken it to an unprecedented level. He’s actually helping the prosecution.
I was just sitting in amazement as this is my first time watching someone dig their own grave, with confidence.
Exactly lol
Yeah, the best move he could make at this point would be the insanity defense, but given how deep he's dug his grave so far... Such a move would be incredibly unlikely.
I love the way you worded that 🤣
he was never beat as a child when he lied, so he grew up lying constantly thinking that he's good at it and there are zero consequences.
So I don't under stand the "I don't consent to that name" so if he doesn't identify as himself he can face consequences for the actions of his dead name?
“Who is you?”
“No…I am Me”
“Me who?”
“No…Who is him”
“Him is what?”
“No…What is there”

“No…Who is over there…I have already told you”
"Who's on first, What's on second, I Dunno's on third."
This witness is a boss. So plainspoken, if the result wasn’t so obvious, a witness like this would be very helpful.
How did all these people not lose their patience with this guy? Honestly, did the judge cast a magical aura or something that gifted everyone in her proximity with superhuman levels of patience?
Yes. Ms Dorow is a gem.
because they're not allowed to otherwise they would be dismissed. they're ordered by the judge not to show emotion and to cooperate
I love how this witness is saying that Brooks is the perpetrator 100%

Only a person who has never been to prison would think and say such a thing. Prison is no place for any human being. If anything, take his life the same as he took others, but prison is completely and utterly inhumane. Anyone who thinks otherwise clearly has never been through that type of torture.

@@Junior0G Isn't that the point though? It's supposed to be as uninviting and uncomfortable as possible. It's a punishment.
@@Junior0G prison is a place for people who have broken the law. Yes, there are cases where innocent people have been sent there and that’s very sad. However, in this case, being locked-away for the rest of his life is nothing compared to the misery and pain he’s inflicted on people for decades……he’s a truly wicked person. So, while I respect your comment, I do feel it was over the top in this case. Brooks has never had to face consequences for his actions and he and his mother still shout about how he wasn’t given the help he needed etc. It’s all nonsense. He was allowed to commit violent acts for years and wasn’t properly punished. He deserves death, but he’ll be locked-up with access to food, a bed, medication that he claims he needs and the people including an 8 year old child he murdered have no such rights.

Exactly!! And who can eyeball someone and quote specific height and weight? It was always presumed that it was a guess based on the short encounter. Its sad that he actually thought that would work.

Do these guys really think they just don't admit their name they are exempt from prosecution?
Yes
The sad thing is, that I can imagine even more loser defendants imitating Darrell Brooks' tactics in future cases, to stall their own guilty verdicts. After all, if they know that they're going away for life, then what do they have to lose by stalling? In addition, it doesn't help that the "Rules of Procedure" require a judge to put up with so much irrelevant, nonsensical, pointless crap from a defendant who deliberately wastes the court's time with his insane antics. We will see these kinds of tactics used again in future trials. Trust me.
