Therapist goes BOOM by System of A Down

  • Therapist analyzes the lyrics of Boom by System of a Down to discuss the tendency for humans to destroy instead of repair. Often reparation requires more work. The song invites us to look at our own allocation of resources and ask where we are placing our energy.

I genuinely love watching "reaction" videos of songs that I love, and have helped me through tough times before. But I got to say, YOU are by far one of, if not the best one I have come to enjoy as of late! Not only do you dissect the lyrics, but you also place it in a retable scenario where we can all better understand the meaning of the song, and how it can help us. Please keep doing the amazing job that you are! 🙂👍
P.S., Hope you can revisit some more L.D. 50 from Mudvayne in the future. 🙂

Although it´s not a single (no official video to comment along), I think Innervision by System of a Down suits perfectly the psychological interpretations you´re doing to SOAD songs.
As a fan of System since 20+ years, I appreciate your content and still discovering some new meanings to the songs. I never thought it could be a psychological twist on the interpretations versus the social nature of the lyrics.

      From AndrewS: @artsaganza8742
Thank you for sharing that with me. It sounds like you’ve been through an incredibly challenging and painful series of experiences. Living with autism, PTSD, and the aftermath of severe trauma-including loss, abuse, and illness-can indeed make intimacy and other aspects of life feel incredibly daunting.
What I meant was that dealing with such deep-seated fears and traumas can be overwhelming, and it’s perfectly okay to take your time and seek support when you’re ready. Your experiences are valid, and your feelings are understandable. Finding a safe space to work through these issues, whether with a therapist, counselor, or a trusted person in your life, could be helpful. You don’t have to face this alone, and taking care of yourself is important. - AndrewS

@@HeartSupport well, i was reacting to your site asked people to talk about their experiences, maybe i misunderstood, but certain music has helped me through alot of these things, there a few songs, but ordinary world by duran duran, land of confusion by genesis, and there are others too. and then it said something about telling our stories and music and volunteering to help others. would that with our music stories? i also do alot of artwork in various ways and filmmaking and host a show online as well, which might be useful. Some of the art deals with my disabilities and abuse but some does not.
