This jugalabandi program was orchestrated by none other than ustad vilayat khan saheb - he didn’t try to highlight his sitar expertise (which could also have been a feast). But he created a platter of Indian classical singers and came up with jugalbandi of many pillars of classical music of that time. This episode was aired sometime around 1996-97 and I’m blessed to listen it on tv on same day. God bles dooradarshan, god bless such programs and god bless TH-cam ..

I'm blessed to have listened to this bandish. Thanks to Nitish Bhardwaj ji aka Shri Krishna from Mahabharat who mentioned singing, about his mother who was a trained classical singer. Then the interview goes till discussing about Miyan Ki Todi, Raag Shivranjani, Raag Bhairav and so on. Instantly, my passion for music woke up. Unfortunately, I could never pursue my hobby as a singer as I always wanted to learn music or sing correctly per say. I searched for these Raagas and listened to them and they were absolutely soul touching.Thank you Doordarshan and TH-cam❤🙏 Jai Guruji ❤️ Shukrana Guruji ❤️

No one has ever listened to Tansen. It is said that Ustad Allauddin Khan and Ustad Amir khan are what could be closest to Tansen or Tansen even better. Pandit Bhimsen Joshi also is in same league of above two Ustaads
People used to tell taansen had the kind of gayaki which can litrelly freeze or hypnoyize you . I sometime wonder how he sounds actually. If i get the opportunity to travel through time , my first priority would be recording the voice of taansen
No, we cant compare both. Pt bhimsen joshi is legend, unparalleled and like a Himalaya in classical songs, where as other rashid Khan was just one of his shisya or disciples.
