I took that oath too... "To protect and defend the constitution of the United States AGAINST ALL ENEMIES; FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC." ALL ENEMIES; FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC.
Thanks Rep. Leonard for your work on our behalf!! The one thing that I would add is not only do our service men and women take the oath, but our representatives and Senators do as well. They are all (or should be) elected based on their desire to lead and defend the Constitution. Those who voted "yes" on this bill are in direct violation of their oath.
This is a slap in the face to all citizens of Washington State, violating both the Federal and State Constitutions, and I expect that if it is passed and signed into law, that law will be immediately legally challenged, just as such laws in Oregon have been.
This is what America is all about, the Rep has summed up what we all should believe in and support. What has happened that even the thought of taking away the rights if Americans is common place? Who do these people in office think they are? They are here to serve the people, not serve their own agendas!
This bill is illegal and unconstitutional period. I appreciate these representatives standing up for our constitutional rights but they're too damn nice. It's time to get loud, pissed off, and fight dirty dammit!
Don't hear it mentioned much but when you leave the military or law enforcement you don't go to some office and get "un-oathed". You took a solemn oath, before God, and it doesn't expire. I admire what he said but someone in a comment said it was for naught, that the bill passed anyway. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing". Edmund Burke
There's plenty of service men and women who take the oath that wouldn't uphold the Constitution if push came to shove. They are in it for the benefits. I know a few.
Thank you
Thank you.
It violates the second amendment, Safety doesn't figure into the equation.
Not just the 2A, but the WA constitution

Why are Republican reps quiet about this? Why are they not on TV, radio or the internet raising hell about this?
Means nothing. Noise over action is what seperates cons from libs
Because most Republicans in Washington State politics are sheep.
@@neilestenson6595 Like I said noise over action. Reps pose as controlled opposition.
You think the “news” in Seattle will ever give someone with opposing views a platform to speak?! They hate the truth and they hate actual journalists
Your emotional pleas are falling on deaf ears. Just call it what it is. Unconstitutional, breaking your oath, violating the rights of US citizens.
Thank you Rep. Leonard Christian for Speaking up and defending the Constitutional Rights of the Citizens of Washington State and for your Service.

In the end, it didn't matter. Tyranny is the order of the day in Olympia.
Spokane valley rep ! Thank you sir for your representation.

Commonly used weapons are tough to ban. Totally unconstitutional.

We need more people like rep Leonard that want to protect the 2nd amendment and the constitution

Thank you sir for your service and your loyalty to our country and our constitution

Sadly this law will pass not enough no to stop this thing! Just like cali it will be over turn

Not enough, it passed. This bans all semiautomatic pistols, rifles, and many shotguns.
So much empty verbiage, so little passion.
I have no idea what the senate will do with this one. Anyone else? All I know is, buy more semiautomatic rifles. 😊
It isn’t just rifles. This hits every semiautomatic capable of accepting a magazine holding more than 10 rounds. So… every basically semiautomatic.
@@nemoexnuqual3643 they should have penalties for knowingly passing unconstitutional laws
@@glocksundgeworfenheit_ Unfortunately, the only penalty is if they get voted out...! How likely will that be... Not very.

They'll pass it, Washington is controlled by leftists.
Tsk tsk tsk
