Very good wire explanation and good idea.. I wired mine to trailer plug and kept getting the trailer disconnected and trailer bulb error so I took it off.. until now that you showed me how to install it... Thank you...
Pop out both taillights , Splice one wire onto right side brake lite wire , Feed it through frame to the left hand tail light , then you can hook onto left brake wire , tail light wire , and back up wire, much easier.
Thanks. I did the same thing except I decided to run a wire from the passenger side to the driver side taillight to keep the connection as high up as possible due to so much salt from winter in my area. I also depinned the wires to get heat shrink over them.
I was a little confused at the taillight. If I understood correctly, you ran the bar harness directly to the left taillight and connected the wires there. Then you ran the right turn signal wire back to the plug to connect it there. The ground wire was also connected at the plug. As an electrician I make a great truck driver. 😊 Thanks
I did the same thing with my 2020 f150 and now i get the trailer setting miles on my dash everytime i start my truck. What did i do wrong? Only difference is that i ran the right signal wire all the way to the taillight and my ground, i connected it to the frame.

that shit is complicated and too much time consuming how does one solder on their back especially if they haven't soldered in their life. Splicing tail light is much easier

Not sure of the brand of probe. I've had it for a while. The other end is an alligator clip connected to ground.
