So this is a folktale called Sohni Mahiwal. They both liked each other, but Sohni was forcibely married off somewhere else. Her husbands family was in in pottery making bussiness. And lived accross the Chenab river (hence the name "Par Chana de" i.e. accross the Cheanb river)from Mahiwal.
Sohni started sneaking off regularly at night using Pots as boat to cross the river to meat him. Her sister in law noticed this, and replaced the finished pottery with unbaked one. And when Sohni takes that pot, it dissolves in river and she drowns.

That instrument is Sagar Veena, invented by the husband of that old lady playing it (who incidentally is also the mother of Noori brothers, the vocalists). Pretty sure you have not seen it before because there are only very few people alive who can play this complex instrument

The lead singers are brothers Ali Noor and Ali Hamza from band Noori. The old lady is their mother.

Clay pot used to cross the river back in the days and because its a little dense than water like a boat. But when she planned to cross the river to meet her lover using that pot, her sister replaced this dried pot with the unfinished wet pot which drown her in river... the last rock part of song was showing the picture of her drowning when she was begging the pot to take her the shore safely.....

This song is actually a conversation between the girl ( sohni ) and the clay pot .
Sohni the girl insisting to go meet mahiwal her lover , saying come on clay pot let's move and clay pot replies it's a dark night and I am unbaked so will dissolve in water but sohni insist and jumps with unbaked one and drowns on the other hand mahiwal (the boy )watch sohni drowning and jumps to save her , and he also drowns holding hand with sohni .

The clay pot mentioned here refers to an actual clay pot. The entire song depicts a dialogue between the girl Sohni, who longs to meet her lover Mahiwal across the river. The pot tells Sohni that the waves are high tonight and, being made of unburnt clay, it cannot help her cross the river as it would wash away, but Sohni is determined to cross the river at any cost, even if it means meeting her lover in death. In the original story, the pot dissolves in the river, causing Sohni to drown. Mahiwal jumps in to save her but also drowns. Both lovers are reunited in death. The instrument played is called the Sagar Veena, and Noor Zehra is the only person in the world who can play it. The other instrument heard in the intro is a banjo.

Thr two guys singing with guitar & bass are brothers. They have their band called Noori. One of the greatest rock bands in Pakistan.

The female singer is a legendary indian singer, who sang many popular indian songs as well. In Pakistan, Shreya Goshal, Shilpa Roy and Lata Mangeshkar considered legends (As they probably are) and are heard all across the Pakistan.
Shilpa Roy came to Coke Studio in Pakistan and gave respect to it which makes me feel glad that we saw a generation of people who were such loving and respectful, regardless of any issues and borders.

Sagar Veena, the instrument at 9:30 is only one in the known world because it was invented by the husband of the lady playing it. Only the couple knew how to play it properly!
