The ironic part of this madness: We seen scout, ensnare, parasite, spawn broodling, stasis, recall, on top of all the storms, plagues, swarm, lings, zealots, hydras, reavers known to man. Not a single corsair was made! Truly an epic game for the ages
EXACTLY. Killer knew to make a switch, and did so. Ruin fought to make their one strategy work until the end. Ruin had a primary composition of templar, reaver, and some dark archons. Maybe a smattering of other late-game spellcasters and shuttles. But Killer made the switch, Ruin thought a response-switch wasn't necessary, but at that point, all of the Protoss efforts were just delays, and there wasn't really a proper solution to be found, once those delays ran out. 10/10 game.
17:05 regarding vision on the attacking guardians on the high ground -- doesn't starcraft always show/reveal to you the attacking unit? Carriers get around this because the attacking unit/element is the interceptor and not the carrier body; but I believe it has consistently been my experience that a tank or guardian attacking from the fog of war is revealed after each attach animation (which is why the guardian goes in and out of vision in this video here). Would love to have someone confirm this or correct me/provide further insight
I think guardians can be used to pretty great effect, but every player does the exact same thing: send into weird non- defensible position, fail to micro them, lose them to silly things, throw hands up and say guardians are bad.
Love guardians! They are the most lovely creatures in StarCraft.. the ending is so ironic that I thought the Protoss would get this game in victory. But hold on, the deadly drops at 37 mins. That is a big turn back to the Zerg player. What a match!
God almighty, that had some crazy back and forths! Right on Falcon! 20:56 And 100% yes, I would sacrifice my Templars having Psi. Storm for Plague. While Psi. Storm is 9/10, Plague is 11/10. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yoooo if I was Killer, I'd be screaming with victory after that GG. Ruin was depleting every single caster to freeze that final attack and just being completely infuriating, but could only delay the inevitable. Killer identified correctly that a major composition switch was necessary when reavers and templar were ruling the battlefield, while Ruin failed to switch in response. They had extreme tunnel vision and sunk cost in their reavers and templar and really tried to make it work from mid-game to the end, but it just wasn't enough. Not a single corsair was built. This game will DESTROY you if you get tunnel vision like that.
Amazing, almost all kinds of spells are cast in one battle effectively, strategically. Just the 7k minerals weren't spent time defined the game. Best spells cast game for a long time!! 😀
If I had to pick the single biggest factor for Zerg winning this game then it would be the static defenses. Most Zerg players would just skimp on building sunkens and spores because they seem like a waste as they could not be used for offense. But having them in place just puts a stop or at least slows down the Protoss from harassing any undefended base. Also, Protoss not having corsairs allows Zerg not to waste minerals on constantly replacing overlords.
63 drones from Killer, almost as if Killer goes businessman with the "63 drone" rule, business strat. hahaha. Maximum of 63 drones, etc....something like that, lol
2:54 dont mind us mr zealot Kerrigan sent us to negotiate for peace in the mean time theres just one thought rattling the zerglings mind-kill the probes😂
Plague vs Storm is an ancient debate. Plague is REALLY good against expensive units as once they get hit that's a LOT of value. Storm is REALLY good against masses of units/things that can't move. This means that Storm vs Protoss, not the best. Storm vs Zerg or M&M Terran, amazing. Removing Storm from Protoss would be a bigger nerf to Protoss than Zerg losing Plague in the ZvP. Giving Protoss Plague in the PvP would be a psychotic shift in how PvP is played, and Storm in ZvZ would be insane. Tldr: Both are invaluable spells, Storm is just hated on since Protoss gets it far earlier into the game/kills units outright.
I always thought the NEED for guardians (and the economy for it) is higher in ZvP than in ZvT, where it's much more effective. Probably because ZvT gas is used for ultras and no room left for guardians. Unfortunately guardians are sitting ducks against storm. Queens OTOH is extremely useful in both matchups and should be used more often even for parasites. Dark Archons would be more effective if feedback gives them the stolen energy. They would be the ultimate defiler counter.
Great game. Loved it!!!
Late game protoss is superior ONLY IF on equal bases. With zerg up two bases, I thought zerg had it for awhile.

The colours are obviously Heinz Ketchup (top left) vs. Dijon mustard! Not Tan or Peach! :) :) :)
Yes please
HOOOLLLY CRAAAP!!! That final battle was insane! I loved the whole cast, but WOW
He died with 7k bank, should have tried to build some gateways somewhere
I love StarCraft too 😊 still from 1998, thanks for channel Falcon
No problem! 👍
One of the coolest and craziest games of all time!!

You're correct on all accounts.
I think guardians can be used to pretty great effect, but every player does the exact same thing: send into weird non- defensible position, fail to micro them, lose them to silly things, throw hands up and say guardians are bad.

Knowledge is power, France is bacon. :p
35:35 Behold ! The worst drop on this channel history :D

my favorite war time reporter is still the falcon.
Great great game! Now I wish to see a game of Hallucination;)

That was a great game! Loving the dark archons!
I loved all of the spells in this game! Soooooo goooood

I think Storm > Plague
And 22:30 made me laugh out loud!
LOL!!! All the spells!!! I love it!! So awesome.

That was absolutely nutso!!!
No cosairs though. Was his downfall. Epic game!!
EPIC game...masterly and a maelstrom indeed, lol, old man and the sea, with epic Protoss backdrop music, lol. EPIC game.
Great when we have other colors 🍀
Wow that was insane, Ruin should have pushed harder when he had all them reavers. Killer didn't really invest in a whole of static defense.
awwwwwsssome game and best host ever!! THANKS FALC!! #HappyTrails :}
63 drones from Killer, almost as if Killer goes businessman with the "63 drone" rule, business strat. hahaha. Maximum of 63 drones, etc....something like that, lol

Falcón! Do you have a game where someone has ever used mind control?
Love your content, cheers from Costa Rica
Here's a recent one where Flash uses it! th-cam.com/video/vLUi7ZRaajE/w-d-xo.html
This is really amazing and absolutely epic game of all times!!!
i would take psionic storm in a heartbeat because my consume means i can totally eats all my lings and spam storm like a madlad
Ventral Sacs lets gooooooo!
Guardians, Falcon, guardians!
Have to watch this game again
Refusing to make just a few corsairs was Ruin's ruin. 😂
Nice game! ❤
that wsa such a good match. gg
Might have been better to mind control the guardians. also the scouts would have been handy at the end.

As a Zerg player... Storm > Plague
I hate storm so much... And that is testament to how good it is.

I blame the defeat on the Scout 🙂
This game was nuts!!! I wish the guardian AI wasnt so dumb but i guess i can give a 25 year old game a break lol😂
The was crazy
Crazy game!
Uauuuu que larga partida 😮
¡Qué juego tan largo y sorprendente!
... no, oh no. I dont wanna see a Defiler lobbing infinite storms thanks to consume, it'd be too much lmao
Always excited for pvz
As a Zerg player I would absolutely trade plague for storm. However I think that would just make Zerg too OP
Wat an Epic caster😅
Weird.... 7.6k minerals in the bank but no tossing up cannons or spamming zealots?
Yeah, exactly
I guess the mental fatigue is real. It was like an 1 hour match
I think that storm is better than plague. In the heat of the battle storm is much better than slow dot of plague.
Why for Cerebrate sake he didn’t transited to Ultras?!
Why he didn't use his money??
He tapped out with 7000 on the bank.
this map, center bases would have made this map even RICHER. Made for HUGE macros, lol.
don’t trade storm for plague because hydra bust will be every hard to hold
reavers FTW!
Why did ruin tap out? I thought for sure he won this game. Not good for Protoss.
So. Many. Guardians. 😂
For the algorithm
Switch spells? No plague would be too over powered against zerg
Woow
I'm not sure I'd call this an epic game. The result was obvious early on. It's mostly unorthodox, which should be a different category than epic.
Wowowwow insane game what a come back from early deficit
Guardians have a stupid mind of their own. Always getting into trouble.
Gj
gg

Hani! Yeah!

I hate protoss and i hate storm
Protoss should limit Zerg’s new expansions
