- The 1952 International Harvester L120 pickup truck is back! We're going to attempt to start the 220 cubic inch straight six silver diamond engine, put the manual transmission in gear, let the clutch out & see if the truck will drive forward under it's own power. We will also do an oil change & install a new oil filter. In a previous video with this truck we got the engine to run but just for a few seconds. That video is linked below for you to watch next. Binder is a nickname for International Harvester trucks because the company makes farm equipment such as tractors, binders etc.

Well, what did we learn today about old vehicles that haven't been driven in years?
Here's the first video with the '52 International Harvester L120 th-cam.com/video/MbCvgCc_7EQ/w-d-xo.html
When are you going to road trip to Texas?
Not sure. Probably between tornado seasons & not when it's a million degrees in Texas & Oklahoma. It'd be a long drive averaging 40-50 mph.
Just because antifreeze is still green doesn't mean its still good. Additives breakdown over time.
Good point. That is true.
So my would say this about wishes. Wish I your left hand and crap in your right. See which one gets full first. Nice truck sir.
Greetings, thinking of restoring 1956 4x4 , where can I go for parts?
That's a great question. I actually have no clue.
Nice Binder, had probably 20 L's myself. You'll find the typical carb kit will give you 5 usable parts sadly. Those carbs also indicated with a YT stamp were used in variousforms 30yrs.. Owned and rebuilt many on my L models. Very basic. Good trucks once u master double clutching.
I think you'll like the carb kit I have coming. Thanks for watching the videos & for taking a moment to comment.

I've been anxiously waiting for another appearance of this old beauty. By the way, that's not damage on the front end. Those are character marks that were legitimately earned in the course of work. No need for plastic surgery here.
You’re right. And this truck wears it like a badge of honor.
I think there was a critter under the front of the truck @ 6:39
Turns out it was a leaf! Good eye. Thanks for watching & taking the time to comment.
I'm pretty sure the Deluxe Products filter uses a sock type cartridge. Baldwin CU406 or Napa 1002.
Aha. And the Napa site I bet cross references Napa 1002 with Baldwin CU406. Come to think of it Fleetgaurd LF506 would probably work too. You're comment helps. Thanks for watching the videos & taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.
@freemansgarage The Baldwin site has a page showing all their sock style filters with dimensions, so you can measure your housing and verify fit. I love those old Internationals.
Try an 8 volt battery
Good idea.
I've got a 52 L130, Same Color with dump bed as well
That’s awesome. Do you think your dump bed is factory or someone added it on?
@@freemansgarage mines factory I’ve got the og service manual/Purchase docs for it.
That's neat. I wonder if my mine is factory. Have not investigated that yet.
sweet truck. wonder if he ever drove it around
I wonder too. My guess is it spent a lot of time in the fields.
@freemansgarage so you never got it running and driving?
I guess I'm not sure if "wonder if he ever drove it around" was referring to me or to the person I bought the truck from. I thought you were referring to the person I bought the truck from.
The answer is no. I need to rebuild the carb. Trust me, it's on the massive ever growing high priority list. I'm doing it as soon as it's turn on the schedule comes up.
Here's the other video with this truck th-cam.com/video/MbCvgCc_7EQ/w-d-xo.html
Love seeing this truck slowly come back to life! Hope you keep her stock, including the 6V system, nothing wrong with a well maintained 6V system, big fat cables and clean connections will serve you well! Thank you for bringing us along, nice job!
