- This tunnel is being constructed in Kota district under the Bharatmala Project. It will be built on the route leading to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which is passing right above the Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve.
The Delhi Mumbai expressway is expected to halve the commute time between Delhi and Mumbai from nearly 24 hours to 12 hours and shorten the distance by 130 km. This will generate annual fuel savings of more than 320 million litters and reduce CO2 emissions by 850 million Kg which is equivalent to the planting of 40 million trees. Over two million trees and shrubs are planned to be planted along the highway as part NHAI’s commitment towards environment conservation.

@@Shubham-su7ox It is not so simple, it has to be preplanned, the structure of the earlier tunnel would get compromised. They should have built the tunnel for 6 lanes keeping future expansion in mind.
