My sophomore year, I was in the OB for that game, I was so tired & emotionally spent after that game that I couldn't go out afterwards. Best fatigue I've ever felt in my life. I feel sorry for the younger Cane fans that will never experience a UM game at the OB, it was a special time. CANE 4 LYFE!
2017 Notre Dame game, I feel like we finally made the rock our home stadium, but I wish I could have gone to the OB...I'm 30 years old...going to the FSU game 10-6-18
I went to the VT game this year. Was amazing still remember to this day was in middle school still. We moved to Atlanta when I was young but my dad took me down. Incredible big game atmosphere
I know this comment is 4 years old , but I had this type of experience when Miami beat Georgia Tech in 2017. I was at that game and I needed help leaving the stadium due to how emotionally and physically spent I was by the end of the game. Still I'm sure there is no comparison to the OB.
When you look back on it years later, maybe the last, true, authentic regular season classic that you couldn’t predict was going to happen but you appreciate it for how great of a game it was!
My dad took me to this game when I was 16. They ran out of water by the 3rd quarter so we had to resort to drinking beers. I’ll never forget this day. Thanks dad ❤
I remember having a soar throat screaming so loud in my room. I was 14 years old and I won't forget it! Comin from an ECU Pirate/Miami Hurricane fan!!!!!
I'm a southern California native but this game was always on in my house. Some of the best college football games ever played was between these two schools. I miss the Orange Bowl too.
Miami should've won some more championships. Game against Ohio State in overtime knocking down the pass, game against Nebraska leading in the forth quarter, and even the game against Penn State ,with Testaverde turning the ball over 5 times still had a chance to win that championship. Sugar bowl game against Alabama wasn't close, but they were ranked #1 going into the game and would've won another championship if they had won.
I'm a Nebraska fan....I lived in Florida from 90-92 and I gotta say....what a rivalry....stores closed on gamedays...no lie....people looooove this game down their.I've never seen anything like it before or since.
I was at this game -- phenomenal atmosphere, sweltering hot, and incredibly exciting. Some Miami fan by me spent most of the game complaining about how bad Dorsey was (Dorsey was like 27 and 1 at the time.) Miami was clearly more talented, but FSU controlled much of the game with their defense and a bruising running game behind Greg Jones. A preview of OSU's strategy in the championship game later that year. Thanks for posting!
I'm a Miami fan. If that kicker would've made that FG, that would have upset us at home. That could have given our players a big knock on their confidence.
I was at this game and it was so damn loud and awesome. The orange bowl was SHAKING like it always did when big games like this happened. Damn near thought the stadium was going to collapse.
We are very lucky to have witnessed U.M.s dominance through the 80's , early 90's and the 2001-2003 team . Still waiting for a U.M. team to even come close to those teams. We might have a chance this year but not with our defense playing like it has . Long live the O.B.
What's crazy is that, that hit they I believe was Rolle on Sams with 5 minutes left where he fumbled it after the catch, in today's game that would have been considered targeting and an automatic ejection. With all those celebration and dancing we were doing, we would have been called for unsportsmanlike conduct. These were the best years, but I know that we'll be back up there soon and I feel it.!
They got some extremely talented and hungry recruits coming in, the intensity of this rivalry is about to hit an even higher fever pitch than 1987, 1991, 1992, 2000, and 2002
Insane the amount of NFL talent that comes out of the U! I hope for my Raiders , DVD is next in line! Hopefully not the next Buchanon, in his defense though, he made some plays for us. its tough playing corner for the raiders when ur asked to play man almost EVERY DOWN with only a 4 man rush!
Florida was ranked #1 by a few publications in 1984 and 1985 as well. Florida has won more games since 1990 than any other team in college football. Even in Miami's great 20 year run they had a losing season (1997 they went 5-6), Florida's last losing season was 1979(34 years ago). Miami had a great 20 year run. They were horrible before 1980, 41-66 for the 1970's. No bowl games from 1967-1980, 8 bowl games from 1926-1980, record 3-5.
"He missed it!...Wide Left!" :) God wanted this field goal attempt. 4 complete flukes had to happen to even make it possible. Sean Taylor makes that hit that should have been a fumble but wasn't. They never would have been in position. Blind over-the-shoulder pass by Rix to get them down there. We call time out to preserve time, giving them one extra second when we wouldn't get up off the pile. Fred Capshaw shanks a punt to get them into position.
What a great game but honestly they should of never had a chance for the field goal since FSU fumbled earlier. I'm still catching my breath with the field goal attempt, ha.
hate the noles but greg jones is without question one of the best college football players i've ever seen. couldve been great if it wasnt for all the knee injuries.
In her defense, it's not like the last few Orange Bowl years were great either. When UVA can walk out of the Orange Bowl with a 48-0 victory, it's painfully obvious that NO ONE is intimidated.
Dorsey didn't need to run the ball Encyclo7! Dorsey was a field general out there and while yes, he did have a great surrounding cast, you cannot even consider that Crouch was a better QB! Dorsey more than deserved the award for the '01 season! He got robbed!! Eric Crouch got his ass handed to I'm, he was not even a factor in the NC Title game! The Canes HC at the time, Larry Coker, was a very humble and compassionate man, he called the dogs off after the first half!!
@gocanes98 The NCAA has had a vendetta against Miami since the 1995 Pell Grant slush fund scandal, even though other colleges have done things much worse and they don't get punished
PK Sam fumbled the ball, and thus the field goal should have never been tried. The Hurricanes almost got jobbed again against FSU. The good guys survived this time
@09msa youre right 80% of us never went to school there. hell im sure its more like 99%. you know why? because of prestigious Miami is. not like fsu where anyone can get accepted.
I remember calling Capshaw every name in the book and more when that idiot shanked that punt to put FSU is great field position at the end of the game. Still one of the biggest choke jobs I've seen on such a critical punt.
George D. Metellus that hit by sean taylor makes me miss him even more :(
2017 Notre Dame game, I feel like we finally made the rock our home stadium, but I wish I could have gone to the OB...I'm 30 years old...going to the FSU game 10-6-18

I agree with you 100%..i use to live half a block from the O.B and i never miss a game..those were the good times...GO CANES!!
The hit by sean taylor man i miss him #RIPSEANTAYLOR
I'm a canes fan for life! These were the best games I've ever seen. RIP Bobby!
This is when football was FOOTBALL!!!!
When you look back on it years later, maybe the last, true, authentic regular season classic that you couldn’t predict was going to happen but you appreciate it for how great of a game it was!
11 years later, Amen brotha
My dad took me to this game when I was 16. They ran out of water by the 3rd quarter so we had to resort to drinking beers. I’ll never forget this day. Thanks dad ❤
One of the best College Football Games ever played!! Glad I was there with my best buddy in the stands!! Never experienced anything like this!
I was there!!! Awesome Memories!!! ITS GREAT TO BE A MIAMI HURRICANE!!!!!!!!
I remember having a soar throat screaming so loud in my room. I was 14 years old and I won't forget it! Comin from an ECU Pirate/Miami Hurricane fan!!!!!
One of the best game ever..
I miss our beloved OB. The best game I ever witnessed.
Wide left!!!! Never gets old. 😁😁
I'm a southern California native but this game was always on in my house. Some of the best college football games ever played was between these two schools. I miss the Orange Bowl too.
Wide left!!! Never gets old.👍👍👍
Do you know how long I have been waiting for someone to put this up on TH-cam?
God damn man, I love you.
The stadium might have been old but it was electric!Thank You Shalala for taking us to Joe Robbie stadium and we've stunk ever since.
Sold her soul for a Congress seat. That was her deal for selling out the stadium to billionaire investors in miami marlins.
5 championships to 3 championships. Miami is always superior
Lmao You Guys have yet to appear in an ACC Championship since joining the ACC in 04... when all hail fails bring up rings huh Lmao #GoNoles
JacobStayViben our qbs dont rape or punch girlfriends in the face douchebag
Miami should have at least 7 but ncaa hates on us
StayViben but jimbo fisher just left y'all lmao y'all ain't shit now😂

Thanks for posting this game
On a night like tonight, when the U's future is in question, THIS makes my heart swell with pride. MAN, I WANT THESE DAYS BACK!!! GO 'CANES!!!
HE MISSED IT!! WIDE LEFT!!!!
As a Canes fan, this was my favorite game of all time. The ending was absolutely amazing.
Chris Rix: "I've been waiting for this all year, it's payback time" LOL
He played pretty well honestly.
I'm a Miami fan. If that kicker would've made that FG, that would have upset us at home. That could have given our players a big knock on their confidence.
What dip shit rix was
Man that guy really sucked
it was so hot that day, i was 400 miles north of this game so i can only imagine what it was like there
god bless you. only other time i've ever been able to relive these highlights is when the game is occasionally played on ESPN Classic
Rember watching this game with my dad when I was 10 yrs old.....what a game!
WIDE LEFT!!!!! Haha good old times! Fire Al Golden bring back Butch!!!
still remember watching this game it was a classic
WIDE LEFT FEELS RIGHT!!!!
what a call from nessler
9:46. A perfect example of how good Sean Taylor was and how he would knock yo ass out if u came across the middle.
I don’t know how that wasn’t a fumble
I saw McGahee during the VaTech game, and I literally saw smoke behind him as he ran for a TD. Damn was he fast
Fsu lost on game winning field goal but what a great chapter for this rivalry, great college football right here.
haha i love watchin these games.. i was at every single home game when i was a youngn
I was a young boy only 10 years old.. This game had me in tears I'm a huge Nole fan since a youngin!
Even though McGahee didn't score, that screen play is one of my favorite of all times.
F'ckn soldier!
The orange bowl was a special place with some great memories for the hurricanes
I was at this game and it was so damn loud and awesome. The orange bowl was SHAKING like it always did when big games like this happened. Damn near thought the stadium was going to collapse.

The hit by SEAN TAYLOR!!! Damn!!! Rip
Nessler. Best play by play man in college ball today.
Ahhhhh, the Orange Bowl atmosphere. Canes haven't been as respected since it was demolished
"FSU is our little brothers. Sometimes u beat up on ya little brother." THANKS G!
What's crazy is that, that hit they I believe was Rolle on Sams with 5 minutes left where he fumbled it after the catch, in today's game that would have been considered targeting and an automatic ejection. +Ariel that was sean taylor making the big hit
that was Sean Taylor #RIP
@skankuser Im with you dude, I love him too. Look at all these choices we have to relive our "Cane Moments". Its like a Canes buffet. Huge!
That game was so krunk. remember it like it was yesterday
Sean almost decapitated Sam. He’s still feelin that shit
They got some extremely talented and hungry recruits coming in, the intensity of this rivalry is about to hit an even higher fever pitch than 1987, 1991, 1992, 2000, and 2002
still waiting...
These games give me chills every time watch them. SHOUT OUT TO THE U!!!!!!!!!🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
How bout them Canes!
6:13 pure Andre Johnson speed
Just pure speed all around period from the whole team.
as a young FSU fan I hated that screen pass lol but it seems like everytime Miami ran it it was perfection

College football at its best.WHAT A GAME!!!! Hate UM season ended in Ohio State gate 😠
i miss this so much will Miami ever be this good again?
"He missed it!...Wide Left!" :)
God wanted this field goal attempt. 4 complete flukes had to happen to even make it possible. Sean Taylor makes that hit that should have been a fumble but wasn't. a lot of NFL stars in this game.
What a great game but honestly they should of never had a chance for the field goal since FSU fumbled earlier. I'm still catching my breath with the field goal attempt, ha.
amazing
The screen pass to McGahee at 8:00 was probably the loudest I've ever heard the Orange Bowl.
Jesus that Sean Taylor hit was insane
" He missed It ; WIDE LEFT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "
Wow!!! Listen to that Miami Hurricanes crowd in the Orange Bowl !!!!
hate the noles but greg jones is without question one of the best college football players i've ever seen. couldve been great if it wasnt for all the knee injuries.
Unbelieveable game....
In her defense, it's not like the last few Orange Bowl years were great either. When UVA can walk out of the Orange Bowl with a 48-0 victory, it's painfully obvious that NO ONE is intimidated.
Make a new Orange Bowl Stadium for Miami?
The hardest hitting football college game ive ever seen live
wide left neva get old
The only thing Golden needs to do is keep recruiting, because sooner or later, Miami will be back at late 90's early 00's talent again
Living in the old days lol go noles
Jason Geathers is the unsung hero
I was there!
First Canes game I ever went to. I though the OB was gonna collapse
Against any other team the screen would have been a touchdown. Dem boys from Florida are fast!!
@skankuser lol thats funny. we need the 2000 game now. it was up but it got removed...
@gocanes98 The NCAA has had a vendetta against Miami since the 1995 Pell Grant slush fund scandal, even though other colleges have done things much worse and they don't get punished
Is Chris rix still waiting on that payback 🤣🤣🤣
Yea Chris it’s payback time lol
Also hilarious at 11:09 when Miami takes forever to get off the pile
what a cane team legendary
It's even better when UF is at the bottom and FSU and Miami are on top of the polls.
Dorsey best QB to EVER PLAY COLLEGE FOOTBALL. PERIOD
😮?????
Black socks black shoes.
Fuckin hell I miss these days
i swear the kickers for florida state mustve had nightmares of kicking field goals
PK Sam fumbled the ball, and thus the field goal should have never been tried. The Hurricanes almost got jobbed again against FSU. The good guys survived this time
Such a stacked roster. So glad my Buckeyes beat them for the natty that year. I will never forget that game. Only 12 years old at the time
Fun fact:Chris Rix lost all 5 match ups to the Canes
@09msa youre right 80% of us never went to school there. hell im sure its more like 99%. you know why? because of prestigious Miami is. not like fsu where anyone can get accepted.
Im an FSU fan and even I got that
I remember calling Capshaw every name in the book and more when that idiot shanked that punt to put FSU is great field position at the end of the game. Still one of the biggest choke jobs I've seen on such a critical punt.
Lets keep it real . Should have 3 more Champions .
00:15-00:30 whats this song called
Just go to 7:30 and watch from there..
Kellen Winslow and Aaron Hernandez basically the same person
FSU really should have won this game...
Miami all dayyyyy
Best Game Ever
