@@Benocutt you still have to have artistic ability and proficiency in adobe illustrator, to be able to perfectly trace and add skin details. this person is an artist.
I now have respect for you, the attention to detail is insane. I've never really liked using illustrator in the past, but watching you has given me some motivation to put in some practice into getting better at the program!
I wish I can print a graphic tee like that, this is clean. So when you doing graphic design, there's no need for a person to be that good at drawing but must use photos and typography pretty well. Nice
Tracing isn't freestyle just saying... beautiful finished stylized traced piece, but freestyle/freehand is something completely different. I can appreciate the attention to detail though ^^
I agree it still takes a good artist to know the right brushes to use and what details to keep or leave out like he did but this is way different than an actual freehand piece and requires way less skill/effort
This is an illustration, it's a specific method and usually involves creating by drawing lines/shapes using a mouse. It takes a lot of effort and skill to reach this level of accuracy.
I use this method along with some personal techniques, and I have evolved a lot, I guess it's all about how you use it. You can check me out toon.vs.topia
New to AI, don’t shame my questions! It looks like that was done almost entirely with the paintbrush and pen tools? I saw the pathfinder tools up too, but wasn’t sure how/if they were being used. Obviously I won’t be making anything remotely like this anytime soon, just looking to understand techniques.
Use the brushes and a pen tablet for this technique. There's no need to use the pen tool here. The pathfinder tool is used to merge layers. Like the hair and other things you want to act as one object
As a fellow graphic designer, its sad to know that they have dozens of apps where AI can create art in seconds - art which usually takes us hours to do... Not to mention all the hours of practice and dedication to actually get good, and those days early on when you thought about changing careers because it wasn't making no money yet. It seems these days, our worst fear is becoming a reality. I never thought I'd live to see the literal death of human made art...
Yeah but AI art has a lot of imperfections that a HUMAN will notice and correct. AI can't even make hands well unless specifically told to do so, and even then it still makes mistakes. Don't forget these AI's are limited because their makers have "buzzwords" which limits its intelligence. Humans are not limited by such programming. Humans > machines. If you're a graphic designer than you're already better than some program, since you're human.
" those days early on when you thought about changing careers because.....(of AI Art)" You will only see the "literal death of human made art" if you give up like you almost did when you first started. Remember that.
Wow man that's seriously impressive , the amount of details you've put into making this with complex tattoo making , i just don't like one thing about illustrator or vector making softwares that you can't color freely into open path (pure vector) like some toon making softwares (japanese artist use it making anime idk it's name) or maybe i am missing something though i am using older version of illustrator
It’s a shame that this art style will be overlooked as AI continues to grow. But I can always see this being useful for extremely large applications like wall prints where there’s no way AI could replicate this level of detail with so much craftsmanship.
Considering this art style, maybe...but I can tell you've never traced a mf thang digitally 😂 Tracing a picture is hard and time consuming; but in my line of work, with the time he spent coloring and shading, imaging doing it to 24 frames per sec and making the adjustments as you go AND making sure it's clean 😭😭😭 Cause if you don't it's gonna be shitty and embarrassing lol I don't see AI as a disadvantage, just incorporate it more into our workflows so we can be faster⚡
@@justadrum Real artists and creators should use it to create a faster, smoother work flow but AI bros are gonna keep trying their hardest to replicate the time and effort you put in organically. Its only a matter of time

Do you use an actual digital draw pen and pad or mouse and pad when doing this ? Or with the paint brush and pen tool ? I’m asking cause I’m learning and I’m new
Yes it is in the picture too, but what i also suggest is studying Form. I mostly paint that’s why i say that. I still find vector (this style a bit difficult for me though). But yeah, that’s my 2 cents.
