      Dang bro....my transmission went out in Birmingham Alabama 5 weeks ago.. it took a month for them to fix my 18 speed Eaton trans...back on road and out in Cali and Bam,,, gotta load of fish on and the fan and hub in reefer unit came apart and exploded sent peaces of metal and plastic everywhere and inside the trailer on the load

      Hey WB, got a random question since we both have the T680, since running Amazon have you had the "trailer cable disconnected" warning alert pop up coming into the yards? We've had it happen almost every time bobtail or not, called KW to see if they heard about it, they said it was weird and haven't heard, anyway just figured I'd ask, keep up the badass videos man, maybe soon we might meet out on the road

    Just in case you ever have a transmission fault again tru to find out the procedure for a self reset. I know for some trucks it is a series of key on, key off etc. It can get you out of a jam sometimes without a tow truck.

    After going on vacation and letting my truck sit over a week, I had the Transmission Fault along with some other cautious as well. I ended up starting my APU and letting that run for 20 minutes. Then tried the truck again and all that was gone. I recommend waiting for the MIL light to go out before turning it over. Also I got in the habit of turning my climate control off until the engine is running to avoid any faults with that. The A/C will trip itself off if you have it in auto without the engine running for too long. Glad you’re back on the road!!

    Where was your coolant leak. I’m going thru a gallon a month roughly. 5 months ago my transmission heat exchanger went bad which allowed coolant into my transmission but I fixed that. About a month ago started loosing coolant again. No coolant in my engine oil and no air bubbles showing back pressure from the head. No coolant on the ground.

    As a driver and a mechanic. The best you can do for your self and your truck. Get an apu. Do not idle the truck. This will prevent dpf problems. Carrier comfort pro can be set to watch battery volts, water temps, and provide heat and a/c. Ready for this?? Road dog stays warm cool with out your engine running. This also allows you to comply with no idle laws n policy of shippers like walmart. Keeps run hrs off truck engine so no wear n tear. Leave lights on. As battery goes down, apu will start charge em n shut off. Like a refer on start stop. This is excellent way to safe money. Consider. U get hurt. U go hospital. Road dog with truck. No problem. Apu has a set cab temp itll maintain. N could maintain for weeks. With full fuel tank. This gives ppl chance to get dog without it dying in a hot cab. Also good for you if main engine breakdown n wont start.

    Nothing wrong with a Automatic but leave it on Manual once you build speed !! It will help on the RPMS downgrade with the Jake's and down shift it never leave it in Drive.

    • @jnk26
      @jnk26 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's an automated manual transmission. If it's a 12 speed it's a new design but it still a manual transmission with a clutch. Drive or Manual mode doesn't change the gearing or RPMs. Manual mode just makes the shifting decisions on you not on the computer. It's a common mistake that automated manual transmissions are mistaken for Allison auto transmissions(torque converter 6/7 speeds) an AMT will be the best option for the foreseeable future as fewer new drivers seem to have the ability to shift at all, and little to no drive to actually learn to do it well.
