No idea how I missed that Wes is an electrician all these years!!! My husband is an electrician as well and it is awesome🙌🏼 He tends to also be handy with a variety of other construction type tasks as a function of having to install or run electric. And it’s a fantastic trade during the ups and downs of almost any job market! We are about to redo our guest bathroom so this was super encouraging 😊
My house was a never ending toilet saga last year 🤣 After replacing 3 toilets because of my children I love so dearly, we spent extra money on an industrial flush toilet. Best decision ever 🙈 I understand the excitement of an expensive toilet hahaha
I loved how you spoke about the texture with Hailey. It was a brief but powerful glimpse into how you try and modal a cheerful and thankful behavior for others, but especially your kids, about what you have while still expressing what you like and do not like. I so admire that!
After 11 years, my husband and I are finally doing the same thing. Turning our house into a home 💛 we’ve done so much and this place finally feeling like OURS is so rewarding! As well as being able to do it ourselves and be a team.

I always love seeing repair work done by loving couples. It's a way to build memories and bond. My husband and I do things like this once in a while. We use the times to work on attitude improvement, communication skills, and just enjoying the intimate moments we get with each other. And gorgeous work you both did!! As the kids grow, I know they'll really appreciate the hard work their parents out into making their house into a home!! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you! But actually, We did this all while having our kids home full time. You see snippets of the project and many of them are of only one of us working there! That means the kids were being parented by the other spouse (or they were happily playing outside in the sunshine!)

My husband decided to check it out and when he stepped in, it SHATTERED!!!! So we have a curtain up now. 😜 So thankful the Lord watched over my kids when they were using it!

I shuddered during the water/mold discovery of your video. We had the exact same thing happen in an upstairs bathroom with double vanity 8 months ago. a lot of water leaked through the flooring to the laundry room below. LOTS of demo, remediation, renovation...that we needed the pros to do, because of our age and physical restrictions. this was completed about 2 months later! I so admire your work ethic, collaboration with hubby ( know it wasn't all shooting stars!). That project led us into a total of 5 months of total flooring removal, walls painted, fixtures etc. but it's all finished and we than God for seeing us through it all!
So pretty already! Boy, do I know the things you run into while renovating (a 100 year old house)! We are finally seeing the end of it with just my husband and I . It’s been a year but so satisfying as well! Enjoy your home!
The bathroom looks stunning already! It's funny what causes culture shock and seeing a bathroom with no waterproofing really set it off for me. In Australia you have to have waterproofing membrane under your tiles on your floor and behind your shower and sink to be compliant. It's to protect the structure when things like happen. I'm really enjoying your videos at the moment because we just bought our first home and they're giving me heaps of inspo.
The flooring has attached waterproofing on the bottom of it! And the back of the panels we installed on the wall also was treated with a waterproofing spray, I just forgot to mention that part!
We had our house built & each time we do an upgrade/Reno we find all the short cuts our builder took. We have learned to build it into the Reno budget. It’s crazy. But I just love how y’all tackled the reno as a team!

Love this video! And perfect timing too, because we are in a similar boat, although not as urgent of a time frame. I made the mistake of pouring boiling water down our vanity sink and it cracked. So far, it’s not causing any major leaking, but it’s definitely a priority to replace the vanity. We also have some drywall patching and painting to do. Love your style and aesthetic choices!!

Oh! My I totally get where you are coming from. My husband took a weekend vacation to do a tub and toilet redo. But it didn't happen that way.We are now in the middle of a full blown remodel of our bathroom. For the same reason we had a leak so bad that we also had to redo the whole floor and walls that had mold so we knew all we could do was to just strip it all a do a total redo.Our deal is my husband can only work on it now that his vacations over is on the weekends. So it's quite a deal.

We've been doing similar work (patching, taping,...) on our new to us home in Kentucky. I try to do the cutting in & hubby does the roller ING of paint! We've in two weeks finished 4 of 6 rooms of our place and are taking a break on the final two. We're staying with a cooler tones with mixed wood (light grey with blue tones), simple clean lines with traditional styled wood furniture & trims!

You could've painted the sub floor with the Kilz fire mold prevention... just a thought. You two work so well together it's awesome!!!!
We were advised against this by our mold specialist! Baseboards were treated with a mold-cide spray after they were dried out, though!
