For a long time, I've felt like the best content is made by narrating over a time lapse. Now this won't work for ALL your videos. I found your channel interesting because you were good at solving pesky problems that others couldn't solve... saving us some money by explaining what is "good enough" and what really isn't and why. So I hope you do narrate some more videos... but don't lose that style... the stuff you've done for so long that really made your videos stand out. Thanks Mr. Car Guy... I'm glad you are getting back into the swing of things.
Been watching and enjoying your channel since day 1 Eric! It's good to see you taking time now to simply enjoy life, and most of all, share the knowledge of Honda Performance with your son! My first experience with Honda dates back to 1973, when the Honda Elsinore 250 was introduced, I was racing motocross at the time, and WOW!....Did Honda open the eyes of everyone involved with all motorsports, not just motocross! Soon after, my girlfriend at the time, purchased a Used Honda CVCC, and not too long after, Oscar Jackson developed his now infamous Jackson Racing Supercharger. At the time, I was now out of MX, and heavily involved with the Performance VW Scene, and drag racing bugs. By the mid 80,s, Street Racing was happening all over SoCal, and the Tuner Craze was starting to really catch on. Before long Hondas were killin' everything in sight, and this led to the Craze that truly lasted for the next twenty five years or so. Since about 2005 or so, Honda seemed to have, not so much lost their way with performance oriented vehicles, but rather, tried to distance themselves from the Criminal Street Racing Tuner Crowd, that the Fast and Furious movies had made Honda owners, look like in the eye's of the public. It was a true awakening to the automotive world, and probably scared the sheet out of Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini and all of the other high priced SuperCar manufacturers of the day, to see what a Japanese company could bring to the table, for such an incredible price! Sadly, those days are gone forever, but by passing along our knowledge to the next generation, the memories of those days can live on forever! Thank You for being one of a small group, who is passing their wealth of knowledge, unto the next generation of Car Guys Eric!!👍🏁
Man, I love what you’re doing to these integras because they deserve it. I know this is going to sound cliche but they really don’t make them like this anymore. Love the new format too, glad you’re back with new content. I know you miss the shop with the lifts though especially on work like this.
Hey man, don't lose hope. I appreciate all the time and effort you've put into your videos, and I've used so many of them to work on various vehicles. Keep it up, I will definitely keep watching. Adapt or change as you see fit as things have been changing for you. Keep it up ETCG!
The problem with working on older cars is you notice issues that need to be fixed in the process of doing the original fix. FYI i am working on the ground all the time and i use what is called reflectix to keep my body comfortable, it helps my old bones and might help yours. From an older now shade tree mechanic . Your valve cover mod is looking sharp!
This was great. Very enlightening to hear your perspective on things instead of just seeing the time lapse. Would definitely love to see more of this. If you're not necessarily ready for the typical ETCG repair videos yet, I think this is a great substitute in the meantime.
GLORIOUS!!! Great work, great creativity in adapting your approach to that cold air intake!!! A LOT of people are going to watch this and want to send you their cars!!!
Great to see you back Eric. It reminds me of your earlier videos before you had your Bendpack 2-post lift when (like the rest of us) we have to jack up our vehicles, put down some cardboard and do everything from floor level! I am a few years your senior and I can also relate that after working on the car for a few days a nice long rest is much needed! My birthday was coming up a number of years ago when my wife wrote to you to see about visiting your shop in Cincinnati. However, you were not taking any more visitors. So instead, you kindly sent me an Eric the Car Guy T-shirt with the Fairmont project logo as a birthday present! I still wear it proudly every summer. Please keep up the great work as it's good to see you back at it again!
Wow can't tell you how much better I feel to see a man in around same age as me (42) or younger/older but is into hondas that are antique at point in time, I gave 4dr gsr,94 delsol vtec and 93 accord wagon, and majority of fellas my age are more into v8 powered vehicles mustang/camaro and I actually grew up and learned mechanic skills result of introduction at age 7 of 350 sbc era, my dad was a nova man and classic Vw bug was all he ever owned and what was taught to me, and yet never owned a v8 powered car till this day, and honestly was thinkin this isn't normal for a man of my age into cars mostly being driven by kids 😂 like my 20yr old son with his 99 ek, So very cool to see someone else like me into these cars, and I'm a faithful Bseries man as well, when most people are on too k platform 😢. Personally there no comparison to quality of design and longevity had by a Bseries engine Imo.
Just got the 302 for my V-8 Ranger project home today. As soon as it's on the stand (tomorrow morning), I'll start cleaning it up and taking it apart to find out what I actually have. It came out of a 30 year old F-150 so, who knows what it really is? Even at 54 years old, I still love my projects and can't wait to really get into this one! The yard I got the engine from also has a bunch of 4x4 Rangers so, I'll be headed back there soon for an 8.8" rearend to replace the 7.5" under it now (original engine was a 2.3L).
11:12 The look of waiting. Lol Very nice work EC, a pleasure to hear from you again, making my TH-cam rounds back a bit early on automotive side of things. Yes, I have kids and I am all too familiar with this look. Lol golden!
Man it's good to see you again eric, I've been following you since the old shop the one you were at when it all started. Good to see you wrenching. I'm getting ready to change out the water pump and timing belt on my 09 dodge journey 3.5 V6.
Great video. Really look forward to the videos on the GSR. I have a 2001 GSR with over 370K miles. it's still running fine. I have used your videos more than once for repairs. I will keep it til the wheels fall off or I can't get parts.
5:58 I do that to 19+ inch Rims when I put them on, when jacking the car on the floor. I find it to makes threading Toyota lug nuts easier on 4runners/Highlander/Tacoma/Tundras with larger tires.
I can imagine getting the trans out of an Integra is even more of a pain in the neck-or-other-anatomical-location than it is on an Accord. Most important thing I did (other than buying that Milwaukee impact :D ) was to make a drawing of the gearbox on a cardboard sheet, and poking each fastener thru the cardboard at the right location on the drawing. Then when I got the old trans all the way out, I put every fastener in the right hole. When the new transmission went in, I knew exactly where every fastener was and where it went. :D
I’ve done most of the same work on my GSR, at the same time, and ended up just pulling the whole drivetrain out. You’re already removing both main engine mounts, have the exhaust, shift linkage and radiator out. Might as well just unplug a few more things and pull the engine. I did timing belt, clutch flywheel and crank seals, and oil pan seal all at the same time. So much easier with the engine out. Also I’ve had problems with both OEM and FelPro PermaDry oil pan seals. I plan on trying a MyHondaHabit oil pan seal next time.
I painted my car in another town an hour away (on a good day) I definitely can relate to the nuisance of travelling to get work done. Also... quite expensive these days.
now this is what i'm talkin about great video what i mean by that is you sound way less formal and way less stressed , i noticed some in your last vid but this one way better oh slow the speed down just a little and don't timelapse to much i've heard of people getting motion sick from it but i don't know anything so don't take my word for all this sept great vid eric the car man
Had a Tanabe Racing Medallion on my first car which was a 1991 Integra LS. Currently have a Skunk2 on my 2015 Civic SI. Both are incredible sounding exhausts. Never had to do any welding. But I did have to cut off some head shield tabs because the Skunk2 has some pretty big piping and it would just rattle off those tabs. I should mention there's no heat shields where these tabs are, so they may not actually be called that.
Loved my Acura TL. Almost 300K miles before the trans went dead. It's in Acura heaven now, otherwise known as the car squeezer and then some giant steel furnace.
A rear sway bar from a TL did amazing things for my Accord's handling. Just a couple mm larger, but it made the car much more neutral when going a touch too fast around onramps and curves.
Awesome! And good to see you on here again. You know... you wouldn't have all these tool issues if you took your tools home and put them in your home garage. You might even find yourself working 😮
Great job evertime! I love the knowledge and teachs more every time. Should you have the option , I have and 2005 odyssey, and would like to know about engine brackets to replace. How to figure it out. Thanks
Heck yeah sounds good man thanks for the update your son's going to be a ripper, welcome back and remember when life slings A-Rod just LS swap it and Keep On Truckin haha have a good one
Did you stop by Flowtek looking for a flange for the integra, or was that something else? It was cool to see you locally. I have watched your videos for years since I started with my integra of the same color that was parked a half mile down from your old shop. Glad to see your enjoying your time out of a shop, hope you can find a good priced one locally again soon!
Enjoyed the commentary/play by play format. Thankful to have Eric back in any capacity.
Yo
Ah, and we have come full circle with poor Eric crawling around on the ground again! Thanks for the content, love to see you back!!

A detailed video of splitting the case and inspecting the trans and installing the lsd would be an awesome video. Good video. Stay dirty Eric.
So nice to see such an icon of a car being taken care of like this, great work!!

This is why my repairs take weeks instead of days lol.
This was great. Very enlightening to hear your perspective on things instead of just seeing the time lapse. Would definitely love to see more of this. If you're not necessarily ready for the typical ETCG repair videos yet, I think this is a great substitute in the meantime.
Leg day in the garage gym.

Bonding with your son working on cars is the best experience u will ever have I did it with my father and now I'm doing with my son ✌️
Great to hear n see you back on here, that's a lucky young lad you have there, having a legend for a dad 👍
There is a huge audience for integra diy vids. I hope you find a shop soon. We miss your detailed repair vids.
Any content from you is good. How ever you want to is up to you. Just glad your putting out more content. ❤

Great video Eric , thanks so much for sharing , God Bless .
I agree with y’all on having more Timelapse videos to include commentary; even regular videos with commentary
Really enjoyed the sit down commentary. Thanks for taking the time to do this!

You are a great story teller, would love to hear more like this.

Happy Easter, Eric. Glad to see a new video from you! 😁
Not sure if its just me but I totally missed your last video in my subscription feed.
Very nice! Keep doing fun stuff!
Also super glad that he decided to keep the gsr vs sell it and go a different direction. Cars like the gsr just don't exist anymore.

Two cracking cars, I think I can sense a Father V Son race of some description, in the near future😁
Enjoyed the video 👍👍👍
Great commentary ❤
That was pretty cool.
Great job evertime! I love the knowledge and teachs more every time. Should you have the option , I have and 2005 odyssey, and would like to know about engine brackets to replace. How to figure it out. Thanks

Love the license plate on the Type R
Its name is BlackBeard. If you didn't already know, Edward Teach was BlackBeards real name.
@@ETCG1 Oh, yes...that's why I love it. Not many would get that reference.
I like the play by play vid, but it doen't realy matter what format you use ill watch anything you put out. Keeping dirty over and out✌
Would you make a list of everything you installed/mods in the Integra GSR
I would like to see an update on all your cars. Dad’s truck, faremont, elements
Did you stop by Flowtek looking for a flange for the integra, or was that something else? It was cool to see you locally. Yes I did. Best exhaust shop in the city in my opinion. Good luck with your Integra.
I kind of prefer the narration to the music/time-lapse montages as in some of the previous videos. (Not that those are bad).
