Happy Friday! Sorry we were a day late with the podcast. Ran into some issues with editing and encoding, but we're here now! Let us know what you thought of any of our topics this week. Next week we will talk about the Jessica Robinson video, since we recorded this before she dropped it.
It was definitely really cool getting to hang out, meet, and play a Domain game Paul! You know you can always reach out if you ever get any ideas for a video. I’d love to be involved. I know Domain is gonna be big, and the formats already made leaps and strides. Thanks for hearing me and the other guys out!
As someone who has been playing DnD for about a year now I highly recommend it, it is a TON of fun but you also need someone who is willing to take on being the dungeon master, that takes a lot of time and effort on their part.
Personally I just wish live action could get an actual faithful Doctor Doom. But now they took it from Victor. He's the Lex Luther of Marvel and the MCU never used him just because they couldn't get the rights. But now they have the rights and it's not even going to be Victor Von Doom
Branded in the rating duels was FULL of puppet locks and most of top decks were branded which most of them probably took out the puppet last minute so they didn't look as toxic. Ultimately though that's likely why it got banned which is nice if people abuse stuff in ranking duels Konami is likely to hit it so we dont have to wait for things like DC cups to get ACTUAL Banlist hits
Yeah that makes sense. I think Rating duels in particular REALLY encourage the "win button" decks, so hopefully this consistently brings them in the line of fire for the MD dev team.
What amazes me the most about the Ritual Beast VS Tenpai Dragon finals, was that the casters were really hyping up the RB player as the best RB player to ever play the deck. Only for him to twice attempt an illegal summon (he had already summoned that monster) only for his opponent to catch it. Neither the judges or casters caught it. Which makes me wonder, how many times have this player as well as other RB players made illegal summons and gotten away with it because their opponent didn't catch it. I mean, this was one of the best players who also played this deck in 2014! If they make simple mistakes like that, less skilled players will definately do so.
Yeah. To be fair, high level Yu-Gi-Oh in general is really tough and Ritual Beasts in particular have a lot to keep up with. I'd cut the guy some slack. You're right though; a lot of RB players probably misplay in tournaments.
Yeah turns that take a long time frequently lead to mistakes like that because when you’re under pressure you just forget. Good on his opponent for catching him (taking nothing from him it was a great win) but that’s another good thing about playing a deck like Tenpai you just have to lock into the kill and don’t have to keep track of anything to convoluted.
Domain sounds like the casual format I’ve been looking for in yugioh. Seems like something more beginner friendly but can be fine tuned for more experienced players. I hope y’all can make it more publicly known.
I've wanted this too! It might be a bit difficult for people to immediately jump into if the shop or event doesn't have the products on hand, but yeah.
@apsamplifier I'm currently getting back into the game and I've bought up 3 of each of the last 6 decks.and they are all fun and pretty strong against each other
If you ever do want to play a Tabletop RPG, Savage Worlds is a simple and fun game and only $20 for the book which is all you need (except some dice). The PDF is cheaper at $10. Love you guys.
13:37 I mean, if most people that play the game, let alone people in general, don't even realise there's a yugioh anime (assuming there is?), if people don't know it what good is it for the game?
The X-Ray would barely make any difference for YGO. Every box can and will be mapped by vendors anyway, and unless such a machine will one day be that cheap, opening up to half a box of packs would still be less of a loss.
I think Time Wizard formats are great for people who have demanding jobs and kids or similar responsibilities, since they are static. No new cards get released and the deck you've built doesn't suddenly get banned. So once you're familiar with the format you can just show up to locals and play. It also doesn't matter that much if you have to skip a week. Advanced is always moving and looking towards the future. People get hyped about new cards, want things to get banned, get unbanned and so on. Formats can sometimes be really long or really short and you always have to keep up with the game in some way
1:59:40 The imagining the chaos that would ensue if Alec got into D&D. I would feel bad for the DM lol. I would definitely play a character that enables all of his shenanigans just for the lol’s
As someone who plays Branded I am actually happy Puppet etc got banned. Now I can play the deck without feeling like I am handicapping myself by not putting those cards in my deck.
1:32:05 I think Alec is overcomplicating the marvel fatigue It seems to me to be more a symptom of lazy writing and showrunners/directors not understanding their projects role in the greater MCU The Iron Man movies themselves proved that nobody had to know the character for it to be a hit. People will go see a good movie if it's good
Late to the pod but I was curious on what everyone favorite deck is my favorite is salamangreat it became my first meta deck back when thunder dragon and sky striker was the top 3 played decks
Great pot of greed series. In my opinion. I would love to see yugioh world championship decks every year just like pokemon. I like to play tcgs in a board game style.
Overcooked is such a good game. Its stressful with kids, my nephews argue over how to do tasks and organize and where to go - and they're 5-6 - but they love bumbling around and getting the good scores XD XD. I agree with Paul tho, I played a round with them and I got exhausted at the end. They demanded a lot XD XD.
Hold on honey I have to go ct scan my packs real quick said no one ever. Lead lined boxes and packs here we come. Now we have to superman proof our packs. 😂😂😂
The biggest issue I hear with doctor doom is people crying "doom isn't white" Which is funny bc that didn't seem to bother yall when yall made Ariel black or Robin hood a woman.
Damn Alec really had his analyst cap on today. Industries being broken down. Also I am a rare person who is like nah let AI run and make everything but sometimes I feel like the best argument for it is the detractors like Alec too. One the one hand you guys insist on human creativity and regulating AI to lesser tasks but in the very next moment you acknowledge that the discerningness of the average consumer is basically non-existent, the average consumer wants the same thing again and again, most don't even know or care to learn about the greater details such as with how marvel watchers don't even read comic books. Why preserve the integrity of human creativity when most normies don't want anything creative, new or remotely challenging. They've basically admitted unwittingly that they just want slop, will only superficially interact with the art and will immediately move on. AI sounds like a god given gift in that respect. It's a slop making machine and people are demanding the slop. Go ahead people, make something new and creative, let's see how it sells with the general modern public that only cares about established brands.
That's true, but I think what Alec meant was that HE hadn't seen the cards until recently and was just pleasantly surprised. Not everybody follows the game religiously, so sometimes they'll find out about the cards a bit after the curve.
Welp branded is now dead in master duel. Let me tell you how I am pissed off as a branded player because that was our only way of competing in the meta. Aka I am talking about puppet lock. Where the hell is the skill drain lock. Btw these locks aren't hard to stop. Again where is my skill drain band and mass flood gate ban while where at it. It's a good thing I will need to buy a ct scanner after I open up my own vet clinic lol. No one will be able to tell me what to do or fire me for using it to scan yugioh packs lol

I forgive you
Eh shit happens it's life that comes 1st
As long we still get to watch our favorite yugi-bros, I’m cool with getting it a little late 😂

1:03:30 good on them. Corporations and exects need reminders that they don’t function without the people who do the actual work.

You guys just became one of my weekly listens. This was such a great podcast with so many topics.
DIGIMON TALK!?!?! LETS GOOOO
Domain sounds like the casual format I’ve been looking for in yugioh. Seems like something more beginner friendly but can be fine tuned for more experienced players. I hope y’all can make it more publicly known.
It's SO MUCH FUN. once you get building your own decks, you get hooked trying to see what else you can make work.
What about a triple structure deck format? Its cheap and can be fun without blowing out your oponent?
I've wanted this too! It might be a bit difficult for people to immediately jump into if the shop or event doesn't have the products on hand, but yeah.
@apsamplifier I'm currently getting back into the game and I've bought up 3 of each of the last 6 decks.and they are all fun and pretty strong against each other
“Don’t steal it, you know”. That had me dying.
*dying
Great podcast! Hope the moving goes well!
@1:31:22 it's so weird seeing Paul quote star wars
Heres to hoping red-eyes fang with chain becomes an actual chain i can get lmao

i do love the little interviews like you said lets you see inside their mind or whatever and its enjoyable for me the viewer
The in person pods go way harder imo. Looking forward to them hopefully

Finally caught a Premier! Let’s GOOOO! ❤️
I think konami just doesn't want worlds to showcase a puppet lock, would be a bad viewing experience.

I literally said that everyone forgot about plunder because of fiendsmiths. Glad a fellow plunderer has discovered all of our new toys
X-Ray Scanning packs is scary.
Thanks for the awesome podcast guys. Love your channel and not just when you talk about yugioh stuff
As someone who plays Branded I am actually happy Puppet etc got banned. Now I can play the deck without feeling like I am handicapping myself by not putting those cards in my deck.
1:28:48 in the ultimate universe in the comics so bringing him back as doom isn’t surprising
I was rooting so hard for ritual beast.
Also we don’t have to talk about AI every single week btw
How many vtubers I've watched play Overcooked. I'm glad to hear others also enjoying the game!
2:13:04 me and my cousins having down time on our family cruise

Awesome! Thank you!

Hold on honey I have to go ct scan my packs real quick said no one ever. Lead lined boxes and packs here we come. Now we have to superman proof our packs. 😂😂😂
Anyone have the link to that D&D duel academy thing Alec was talking about?
The beer league is a reminder to my old shadow games and trust me a modern deck would not like them
Imagine Chris Evans as Johny Storm. That'd be crazy
Avengers😂
"i wonder if chris evans will come back now that rdj has"....oh you really being in the dark made that question hilarous
I actually recently left a comment about this, but why didn't the previous pod of greed episode have timestamps? Did you just forget by mistake?
32:03 I am going to Japan soon and I swear I better be able to buy some of these figurres I will be empyting out my wallet for them if I can 😂😂
1:38:57 The Boys says hello
Need to bring the timestamps back 😢
Not gonna lie if it was TOON Dark Magician Girl they might’ve got me on that $300-$400 figure…😂😅
Wow nice talk at thr start there. Think a lot of peeps could bebenfits from hearing that
1:20:25 - AI slaves? I hope AI doesn't see this and realize it has to rid the world of Humans in order to be free...
Beer and yugioh? Sounds nice but makes my head hurt already
Let’s go boys
You were almost on your 3rd strike mr Paul
pls come to ghost events and games in denver on wednesday sometime i want to duel u with my ritual beasts
Do you think boycotting Konami will motivate them to make the necessary requirements to prevent player loss?
Spamming on a TH-cam video is not a way to boycot konami
I would watch y'all play d&d.
Dropping a 1
The biggest issue I hear with doctor doom is people crying "doom isn't white"
Which is funny bc that didn't seem to bother yall when yall made Ariel black or Robin hood a woman.
