    For those watching this, you need to realize this broadhead is creating a 360 degree (3D) wound channel verses a 2 dimensional wound channel of a wide 2 blade broadhead. I am not saying one is better than the other. I not a fan of the long aluminum ferrule and having 8 blades to resharpen. Out of the package it appears quite sharp, & that is good. The last blade is barbed (which can be illegal in some states). The Thorn Crown broadheads are a bit on the expensive side, but I believe they come with an extra set of blades (could be used as practice blades, too). I personally like a simpler fixed blade design myself, but it is an interesting broadhead. Thanks for sharing!

    It would be awesome if you could test deadwalker broadheads! I’d love to see how they stack up to testing

    I used these last year. I love them! killed my bull elk, pulled it out of the animal and killed my mule deer 2 days later with it. Very close to field point flight pattern. Definitely recommend.

    All of Thorns stuff shoots like a field point, work great and are very durable. I haven't bent a blade yet.

    I just bought Swat XMAG broadheads. I'd like see you test them or the A4's. I like to watch someone else abuse stuff

      I was very disappointed with the sharpness of Swats- they fly great but won't cut butter and they are hard to sharpen!

    What would you think thew would do with a cross bow? 430fps

    • @Chestthumperoutdoors
      @Chestthumperoutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im honestly not sure, I unfortunately have no way to test that. Just guessing based on the small profile of the blades it would fly fine. With that said if your crossbow is going 430 fps and you are concerned about flight Id look into a mechanical head. Youre pushing a ton of energy, more than enough to make a mech head do what its supposed to.

      They make a Thorn crossbow crown head. Great on turkeys as well

    Are you using these broadheads this year? If not do want to get rid of them?

    Did you ever use these on a deer or hog? I'm curious about what kind of blood trail it would leave.

      @@Chestthumperoutdoors is there a reason why, or do you just have to many broadheads laying around to get to them all?

    Looks vicious. But how does it do when it hits bone or ribs or scapula???

    • @Chestthumperoutdoors

      Only an in the field test would be able to properly answer that. Itd did well through the fence slat though so that gives me a little hope.

      @@Chestthumperoutdoors I have shot 100 grains field tips and broadheads for years. Just switched to 125 field tips. With 100s my bow shoots 385 grain arrow at 256 fps. With 125s a 410 grain arrow at 251 fps. Hardly any difference in poi this side of 30. Difference is how they hit target. 125s seem to bury deeper in the speed bag. And much harder to pull. So I am gonna go 125 for the broadheads. 6 should last me a bit.
