In November 1998 BTP wrote:
a Japanese TV company has been making a film about Gary for screening on Japanese TV on 21 December. They went to Paris to film him with Bill Wyman and are filming him fishing and pubbing Thursday, and at a meeting about his charity work and Guildford Civic on Friday.

Much gratitude to H. Braunschmidt for posting these videos. People I know were somewhat amused by my mourning at his death. I was a bit surprised myself. I shouldn't have been. I tried to never to miss Procol Harum when they came to Detroit in the seventies. This video is priceless. Apparently he taught Eric Clapton how to fly fish and in fact this was one reason why the great guitarist was able to conquer his addiction. A band that never quite got its due in America as far as I'm concerned and has never been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Brooker and company made some great music and fine albums. Always a great show. Grand Hotel is every bit a classic as A Salty Dog in my opinion and that of the producer, Chris Thomas. Again thank you. By the way, many years ago I connected via email with Chris Copping in Melbourne. He burned a cd copy of their wonderful Hollywood Bowl concert and sent it to me. He told me that Mr. Brooker would also take time while in Michigan to go fishing. It is, after all, the Great Lake State.
