She must have looked amazing from in front of the Opera House. She looks so impressive with her long Ocean Liner Bow and her streamlined Superstructure.
Wow!!!😊😊😊😊 Just soo beautiful leaving port from a gorgeous city. Looks like she is fully loading with passengers!!😊 Thank you for sharing this ocean liner.😊

@@Shipspotting_Vietnam Yes I agree, she has a beautiful long traditional Ocean Liner Bow. It looks alot like the Bow of Queen Elizabeth 2 that is now retired in Dubai and is a hotel, it also has features that reminds me of the French Line's Normandie.

Stunning ! Beautiful, classy, a sight not easily forgotten. Brings back memories of yesterday, of original Queen Mary camouflaged entering our harbour to take our precious troops off to war zones on the other side of the world. Bless their memories and may this newer Queen always sail in safe waters
It's Interesting to note one of Queen Mary 2's whistles is from the original Queen Mary of 1936. If you listen to QM2 's whistle the very deep sound, is you hear is from the original ship. It's interesting to think that is the same whistle that sounded in Sydney Harbour in 1940 to take the troops to war.
Thank you. Sydney Harbour is beautiful and sailing out of Circular Quay and passing the Opera House is an unforgettable experience. I hope you are having a great cruise on Queen Mary 2.
Queen Mary 2.....probably the last Ocean Liner to be built Thanks to the brilliance of Naval Architect Stephen Payne and Micky Arison. She is the world's most famous liner as was QE2 and many of the great liners of years gone by. At 20 years she will leave cruise ships in her wake for another 20 years. A stunning lady. I've never been interested in ocean holidays or travel, it never appealed to me until I heard about this girl. She's not just a cruise ship, she's an ocean liner. What a gorgeous and magestic beauty she is.Her Title says it all. She is the real deal for me. If I'm ever able to get the opportunity to cruise across the oceans, this is the lady I want to be escorted by all the way!
Agree with everything you said here mate! I went to Tasmania last month and on the way back to Melbourne we were actually lucky enough to pass the beautiful QM2 it was about 300 metres away from us. What made it even more of a memory was it was the LAST time it'll ever be in Melbourne. Such a beautiful ship classic ocean liner lines unlike today's apartment building looking ships!
Thank you very much for subscribing. We always look forward to seeing this elegant Ocean Liner in Sydney Harbour, she looks so impressive with that classic long bow and her overall well balanced shape. She reminds me very much of Queen Elizabeth 2 that is now a hotel in Dubai.
I was coming back to Melbourne from Tasmania and she sailed right past us! Even from at least 300 metres out she was massive ! I'll never forget it . Was tracking her the day I returned to Melbourne so knew roughly when I'd see her. Caught first site of her she was probably 3km away instantly knew it was her . Even from a couple of km away it looked big..
Queen Mary 2 was built by French shipbuilders in St Nazaire in 2004. Some of the biggest cruise ships were built in St Nazaire: 2015 Harmony of the Seas (362 meters. 226,963 GT, world record) 2018 Symphony of the Seas (362 meters. 228,081 GT, world record) 2020 Wonder of the Seas (362 meters. 236,857 GT, world record) And St Nazaire shipbuilders will build the largest cruising sailboat in the world, 220 meters long.
Thanks for sharing this. I was a Marine Engineer at sea for 16 years and still miss the sea and that career. I think the "Queens" retain the elegant style that have always had in comparison to the the "garishness" of many of the cruise ships of today.
@@Kirribilli_ships For most who go to sea the first voyage (if a good experience) will always be a favourite. The large funnel is functional and the two smaller funnels aft are for the incinerators to burn rubbish. Just as a matter of interest when you look at the main red and black funnel it sits on a large white casing with the ships name on it, inside that casing are two gas turbines that are used along with the main engines in the hull to get extra speed when needed. She is capable of speeds in access of 30 knots when these gas turbines kick in.
Thank you. But why such a speed for so big a ship? That is mere prestige isn't it or has she military capabilities like SS United States once had?@@Kirribilli_ships
@@corvanha1 She needs the extra speed to keep to a schedule. When she is doing her Atlantic Crossings which are currently 7 days sometimes the weather on the North Atlantic can be very unpredictable, fog or heavy seas that slows her down for a day or more, so they can make up time with the high speed to arrive in 7 days. Most cruiseships these days can sail at 20 knots, but they don't have to keep to a schedule.
