    I don't want a "Start" button. Prefer not to have a "Smart key" either. Just more that can go wrong and expensive to fix.

      Yeah I can see how you can think that. I’ve had a smart key and no issues for over 10 years. Works wonders as I don’t have to take the key out of my pocket. Super convenient.

    I’ll take an older 5 speed automatic over a CVT. And a 2.5 L engine over the 1.5 L with turbocharger. With the inherent oil dilution problem. The older CR-V’s will last 300k miles.

    • @antimon40

      smart move. That's why I prefer 2014 crv with AT and NA engine over 2015 and later as they all have CVTs and turbo engine.

    Well, I had a 2014 LX AWD and traded it for a 2018 RDX AWD at 60,000. The things I hated about the CRV were: Under power, uncomfortable small seats, no armrest, foot brake. Note: some of these had changed from 2015. I would have brought a 2018 CRV except I hate the following: Turbo, CVT, same small seats. Conclusion: I am a firm Honda fan and it's the most reliable cars , and would not buy any other brand.

    The main problem is the Real Time 4WD system.It has a software glitch and doesn't kick in automatically when the front wheels slip

    • @worldpeace5853
      @worldpeace5853 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s true and that’s why it costs less than an sh-AWD. CRV is primarily a fwd and switches to AWD only when needed but with a disclosure. The software needs to compile the conditions and then activate the non slip wheels which means a real time AWD as per their marketing department. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. You can switch to Subaru if you want all time AWD in the mid segment.

      My element, which has 4wd badge on the tailgate, is great in the snow. However, I believe it is awd

    • @DerrickMoy
      @DerrickMoy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No this is a poor marketing for AWD. Most non-truck/hardcore Jeep like vehicles are FWD bias AWD systems which means they mostly are driving with FWD and when slip is detected the differential uses the rear wheels for extra traction. The badge is irrelevant and doesn’t determine if your car actually has symmetrical AWD. Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and many others use a similar system.
      In general, if you are not off roading rarely would you ever need more than FWD.

    • @michaelcozzini5252
      @michaelcozzini5252 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DerrickMoy I’ve driven many fwd only vehicles and they pale in comparison to awd. I am self employed n make deliveries in all kinds of weather. Up until my 2011 element, I used fwd minivans with good weight in them. Got stuck several times pulling into semi cleared parking spaces. I never had an issue with my element and hope the crV is the same.

    • @DerrickMoy
      @DerrickMoy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @michaelcozzini5252 what tires are you using and where are you driving that you’re getting stuck? There aren’t a ton of scenarios where you should be getting stuck on a road with the proper tire in really any amount of snow. If you’re using all season tires in snow you should be using at least all weather tires which now have a triple peak certification.

  • @poppyneese1811

    Always thought Honda’s were great machines, their reputation, but our 2014 is very loud inside, not comfortable at all, much harder on gas than I ever expected, interior feels cheap and at only 53,000 miles on the clock, I fear we’re about to lose the tranny. I just expected more from Honda. I thought when I got it, I’ll have it serviced at the dealer, about 36k on it they wanted to change the brake fluid, I pretty much figured scam. Don’t hate the car, just not in love with it, paid,in my opinion, way more than I got. Still about 8 months to pay it off and looking like we’ll be putting a transmission in it, we’re a couple in our 50’s, we don’t drive it hard and keep the oil changed, it’s just not holding up!

    • @DerrickMoy
      @DerrickMoy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really like hearing these types of stories. It's interesting to hear about the comfort, do you have the cloth seats? My fiance's mother has this exact same car fully loaded with the leather seats and they aren't as comfortable as the cloth ones.
      That's the thing that gets most people is the reputation. I believe everyone should be able to break through the brand of the cars and pick cars based on their perception versus a "reliable" brand.
      The interior of this car is just okay in my opinion. It definitely doesn't feel premium in anyway. In a sub $30k segment for SUV's there are many more options and many other brands whose interiors hide the hard plastics much better than Honda.
      If the transmission needs a replacement Honda's warranty covers 5 year/60K mile powertrain so if it needed to be replaced it would be covered under warranty. 36K miles is about the regular service for brake fluid so that wouldn't concern me as much. You can also think about trading the car in. The best part about Honda's are probably their resale value if you're in the market for something new. Anyways, good luck and thanks for the comment!

    A 6 speed for what. They’ve ran a 4 speed for the longest. Not Honda specifically. But in general. A five speed. Just talking about more gears for Jo reason. Gears do something specific. Just bc it’s under powered doesn’t mean it needs 6 gears 😂 u can lower gear ratios or make them longer. 🤦‍♂️ the crv is perfect. It does what it was meant to do. U think that vtec will help u 😂. Don’t buy a crv. Would I prefer a keyless start absolutely. Bc ignitions tend to wear out over time. Plus they end up breaking bc of weight on the keychain. Typically women. Bc unfortunately they do it. They put a lot of useless junk on there. Literally the only things I have on my keys ring is the key. The remote and my house key. One house key. That’s all I need 😂 I don’t need 500 charms and shoes and incense and fricken other useless crap. That crv is capable of things I would’ve never thought it could do. I am a Chevy guy. Let me tell u something. I’ve never loved a car like I do my crv. I wouldn’t trade it for a Ferrari
