All I want is a clean, smooth MTG Online experience. It's such a relatively sophisticated game with so many little things to keep track of that all the MTG games have been clunky. Glad to hear they're building a new platform.

Quests are out of arena because you need synergy for them to work, just like c'thun does. Dks need no synergy so why would they throw them out of arena?
But a card has never been disabled in arena for being too strong before. So your mention of quests is irrelevant. Saying that you think they shouldn't be in arena is perfectly OK. Saying it with quests in one breath is... at least misleading. Like The Attention Seeker said - all those cards were disabled in arena because they need synergy to do anything, not because they are too strong.

Even in constructed, these DK cards have a really high power level. Jaraxxus changed your hero power but had the condition of setting your health to 15. DK cards have no condition aside from spending mana
I had a Mage Arena deck with: 3 Primordial Glyphs 2 Firelands Portals 2 Meteors 2 Fireballs 2 Blizzards 1 Flamestrike I faced a Druid with the DK, some Taunts, and Hadronox......... I stood no chance.
I got rekt in 1-2 by a Warlock. Was winning, then he played his DK and revived Lakkari Felhound, the charge 5/7, the 6/6 guy and a few weak minions. I somehow made a comeback. Then he played ANOTHER DK and I lost.
The moment I saw Hero cards revealed I just assumed Blizzard wouldn't have them in arena pool because of such high stand alone power they possess. But Blizzard is Blizzard.
I think the reason why Frost Lich Jaina is so strong is because (A) Un'Goro was literally untested, so they added some ridiculously overpowered cards to Hearthstone and (B) for some reason, when a minion has *Battlecry: deal 'x' damage* it causes the hero to heal. Baron Geddon "attacks" each minion for two damage, giving a totally fair 30 health heal.
I have drafted Jaina in one of my runs. Rest of the deck was trash and she was my only hope. In six games I've drawn her only twice. Firs time I already won at that point and second time priest used mindvision and played her first. Then discovered fucking Sindragosa because it's only class dragon for mage. Fuck my life...
Drafted my first arena after a loong time (well except when we got the free entry things). Draft was meh, but I managed to get the priest DK. He single-handedly got me 6 out of my 8 wins.
The main problem with frost lich jaina is that it denies you from playing 1 or 4 health minions (water elemantal + hero power) and even if you aren't playing those minions jaina can just play her own 1 health minions then ping them off herself. Warlock is almost certainly an instant win if you and your opponent are on even terms. And if you had a void walker or two killed off it can even be a win from a losing position. Death knights are fine in constructed because of the fact that all decks are obviously more synergistic and well built. But in arena where the power level is substantial lower. Having a card like the death knights appear more often for SOME classes isn't fair. The best thing to do is like fledgling decrease the chance of seeing it or remove it all together. Also mages need to be fixed in general. Specifically glyph, cabalists tomb and all their random effects.
Had almost the same exact expierence as you with had with warrior. Played as paladin vs mage and was winning by a huge margin, about 2 turns from killing her and she had like 2 cards. After she played her hero i was still miles ahead on draws but i could not play 3 of my cards and my heropower because they all made 1/1's so i ended up losing on value.
That last game was a real joke... He keeps drawing that 1 health bullshit, that was so bullshit, i feel bad for him. And I agree. DK should be banned from Arena.

I can tell from miles away that Kripp got triggered by losing to opponents with hero cards in Arena. But i agree, we cannot continiue like this. If we do, every 2 out of 3 players above 9 wins will have a hero card in their decks.
the real offender are discover mechanic odds, i have honestly drafted two tirions on draft, playing since closed beta. were as from discover mechanics its just a tirion festival were even getting 2 from a games is more of the norm is fucked up.
Worst thing is kabal courier and the other 2 tri class discover cards. They can discover death knights and it may not even the death knight of your class so your opponent can't play around it.
I've beaten Lich Jaina all three times I've faced it. Had a heavier Mage 1st game, Priest with Dragons and 2 MC rekt rent the 2nd one and the 3rd was kinda close but I took more risky face damage as a Rogue earlier and was able to Sprint in to some burn. Maybe I'm just lucky I dunno, but with the right decks you can still crush DKs.
Totally agree with this, I had a pretty clunky mage decks with poor creature quality but my spells delayed the game to turn 9 then Jaina just stomped everyone because it allows you to make poor creature for creature trades, this is a key factor in Arena, making the proper trades to gain an advantage later or slow down an opponent but when you can just ping after and summon an elemental its too broken for Arena.
I totally agree with baning death knights from arena. But the first game is not a good example. A normal 5/2 weapon would have done the job as well. The life leech didn't matter and the hero ability didn't as well. Yeah, I know, paladin dosen't own a 5/2 weapon. But warrior does and it's a regular card.

I was so confused the first time i saw a hero card in arena. I couldn't believe they put them in arena . The next deck i made i got offered 2 Frost Lich Jainas in the same draft. It was a pretty good mage deck but nothing insane other than the hero card. Went 11/0 easily and just got unlucky the next 2 games ending 12/2. One of the games a played against a paladin who discovered Tirion AND had Tirion in his deck AND used up the whole first weapon and 2 charges of the second and had plenty of healing and taunts and still lost horribly. I'm decent at arena but I've only gotten 12 wins 3 times in my life. I don't know what the hell Blizzard was thinking when they put those cards in arena.
i have experienced this against a warlock that i was steam rolling, he had no health and use this card after he cleared my board and then nothing else mattered.
Played a game in arena earlier where I went all the way to fatigue against a warlock with the dk D: he fatigued 3 or 4 more cards than me and still won with op hero power
Really most of them are on the power level of an extremely game swinging legendary like tirion but Janna and gul' dan are virtually unbeatable if you don't have the win the turn it comes out.
I came back to Hearthstone for the new expansion and my first arena the guy played the mage hero card on curve. I surrendered and I've never gone back. Aint nobody got time for that.
I went 12-0 with priest without the dk and I did not play against any one with the dk yet, i think priest is absolute broken and the fact that people still don't know which cards are good in arena helps me a lot.
I just experienced this today. Was playing mage mirror in arena. Turn 9 was just about to win with a Pyroblast but the armor from my opponents DK saved him and then just healed out of range with lifesteal. I didnt have Jaina in my deck, and it took no skill from the opponent to win. It was basically play Jaina=Win. GET HEROES OUT OF ARENA!
I think it is totally fair. Sometimes, for a newbeee, or even for a long-time player, it is really hard to feel yourself good in the game, i mean wins. Hearthstone always must stay friendly to all kinds of players, from the top players to the low, and i think abilities like this are sometime needed, even if its not really fair
i think it wouldve been nice for a week or so to make that the first card you draft after the frozen throne launched the first cards is a legendary and it always has hero card in it just for reasons and after that week the hero cards get removed from arena
IMO hero cards are not even coming close to being broken like some combos you can effortlessly pull off as long as you're lucky while opening card packs.
My first arena of this expansion i drafted priest and the only 3 decent cards in the deck were 1 holy nova, 1 dragonfire potion an the priest dk card. I went 2-3 only seeing holy nova once and not seeing either of the other 2 at all :(
Jaina and Rexxar are probably the two most important to remove from arena. But if you were to do that you'd probably have to get rid of all of the heros. That way control arena games wouldn't be so broken. Mage already has so many amazing aoe tools in it's belt.
Ive been carried already by the Guldan hero card in arena. But you STILL lose to the generic op arena cards either way 90% of the time. AKA spikeridge, bonemare, any mage, etc. Ive done better with a generic paladin deck with spikeridged and the works, than I have with a deck with hero cards.
Mage hero card vs paladin in arena feelsbadman. Completely stops you using your hero power or you give them frost elementals. Gotta love the spend 3 mana kill your own minion get a 3/6 with freeze and a spell though, seems pretty balanced.
I agree with this. I actually think they should remove legend cards from arena completely. Its not right when you get matched against players who have 2 or 3 of them in their deck when you have none.

Yeah I had a great warlock arena going at 7/1 and lost to two mages with the hero, and I was kicking their asses until they played it.
I had a Mage Arena deck with:
3 Primordial Glyphs
2 Firelands Portals
2 Meteors
2 Fireballs
2 Blizzards
1 Flamestrike
I faced a Druid with the DK, some Taunts, and Hadronox......... I stood no chance.

My first opponent in arena had activated Raza into Priest DK into Lyra. It was like a constructed deck.

100% agreed. I had a warlock discover the priest hero. Instant win and I had it in the bag before that. So stupid in arena.

I just conceded after a priest played 2 Dragonfire Potions, Mediv and DK Priest at 2-0. Not playing arena till they change something.

ultimate infestation is also broken in the same way for the arena
IMO hero cards are not even coming close to being broken like some combos you can effortlessly pull off as long as you're lucky while opening card packs.
My first arena of this expansion i drafted priest and the only 3 decent cards in the deck were 1 holy nova, 1 dragonfire potion an the priest dk card.
I went 2-3 only seeing holy nova once and not seeing either of the other 2 at all :(
Jaina and Rexxar are probably the two most important to remove from arena. But if you were to do that you'd probably have to get rid of all of the heros. That way control arena games wouldn't be so broken. Mage already has so many amazing aoe tools in it's belt.
Ive been carried already by the Guldan hero card in arena. But you STILL lose to the generic op arena cards either way 90% of the time. AKA spikeridge, bonemare, any mage, etc. Ive done better with a generic paladin deck with spikeridged and the works, than I have with a deck with hero cards.

They should do 8-man drafts with 15 card Hearthstone boosters. Then it'd be fair again
Mage hero card vs paladin in arena feelsbadman. Completely stops you using your hero power or you give them frost elementals. Gotta love the spend 3 mana kill your own minion get a 3/6 with freeze and a spell though, seems pretty balanced.

I agree with this. I actually think they should remove legend cards from arena completely. Its not right when you get matched against players who have 2 or 3 of them in their deck when you have none.
I completely agree, The warrior one is really strong I drafted a garbage deck but won every game I drew it, the weapon is like free 3 flame strikes
