I remember reading about the Koenig Twin Turbo Testarossa in 1985 as a teenager, and wishing I could have one! From the comments, it looks like I am not alone!
I have the 512 BBi from 1982. It’s non turbo but has the rear wing. Willie told me they don’t know how many were produced, but it is between 20-30 cars
Yep still have the model I built as a kid. Few of my friends knew about them, I had the Koenig Competition poster on my wall for the longest time as a kid!
The music at @08:29! I haven't heard that in 25 years, but As soon as I did I knew it was from the video game Top Gear/Top Racer on the Super Nintendo/Super Famicom. Here it is for all you wondering. Original version: th-cam.com/video/iAMvfv6X8xs/w-d-xo.html And the remixed version used in this video: th-cam.com/video/tA7a_EEgwrw/w-d-xo.html Thanks for the memories and another great video, Alfa Guy! 👍
This is the first ever video made by someone that I give my official top TH-cam unofficial self appointed head of the comments chief of staff a 1x like and thumbs up 👍🏽 very good video thank you
I'm 100 percent certain that Koenig tuned an F40. I remember seeing it in a magazine. It had custom front hood extractors, yellow side mirrors, and a slightly different rear wing. They didn't do any major surgery on the the rest of the body or engine; I think just a tune and some aero
Iding Power makes a stroker kit for the enzo, but he changes the body and all kinds of stuff. He made his own BMW V-12 motor… like .. made from scratch. As he was the McLaren service tech in Japan.
I absolutely swear I saw mike Tyson driving a red convertible f40 on rodeo drive in Beverly Hills California back in the early 90’s. Unfortunately I had no camera.
@@butterbagboy wasn't there a F40 in France that was converted into a barchetta around 1992, it was in yellow IIRC [Edit] it belongs to Jean Blaton - a long time customer, he fell out of favour with Ferrari after
@@godwindracing6056 just looked it up and f50 was introduced in 1995, this was 1992. Ferrari also never produced a testarossa convertible, but yet they exist, and Willy Koenig made some
I have no idea where did you get all your info, but most of the narrative is inaccurate or plain wrong. Not to mention some of the statements made. As for the people asking about the music, it is actually the music from the promotional Koenig Specials video, from which many of the images were taken too.
i just love the intromusic... it really defines the era
I completely forgot about the Koenig Testarossa, until this video.
What an amazing car!
the first real 1000HP street car.

The Koenig Testarossa is one of the best conversions ever made.
Controversial to whom? All good Ferrari must be modified or retromod it

@@whyalwaysme2522Dude what? He said conversion. Not controversial.

Koenig-Specials did tune F40 bigger turbos than the stand factory turbos more power !!!

@@jasxx1108 I know Lotec did some super Ferrari tuning
Don't forget they also built the first road going 962: Koenig C62.
"Yeah, I have 13 inch wheels..."
"That small?"
"Wide..."
I wanted like a up to speed on this tuner company but this will do thanks for telling and sharing for us.
König works with Albrex kompressor made in Austria
I think the Ferrari’s that Koening did, were the best cars the did. The 512 TI was a great car
where did you find the video of the blue testarossa competiton spyder?
Koenig-Specials world 🌍 class ❤
imagine Magnum Pi drives a Koenig Edition of the 308 GTS , and Sonny from Miami Vice in a Koenig edtion Testarossa :D
Хорошее видео ,спасибо за информацию

It was a F50, there has never been a convertible F40
@@godwindracing6056 it was before the F50 existed, I'd bet Koenig hacked the roof off an F40, Its a fuzzy memory but definitely pre f50

I thought the Koenig Testarossa had a kevlar and/or carbon fiber body also?
Is it just me or does the "turbo" koenig uses on the cars look the same as the turbo magazine logo?
What i’d give for the Koenig F50…

most of the first cars you're calling 512 are not in fact 512s.. they're 288s.
They are 512s. Like the F40 the 288 was twin turbo from Ferrari
This is how you modify something like this
9:00 What song and game was that from?! ❤️🚩
When a ferrari isnt fast enough for you
Is it only the coke dealers that would have the money & mind to produce theses aftermarket supercars back in the 80’s 😝
Just uploaded a video of a beautiful trio with a Koenig Mercedes SLK Widebody
