When you were reading a portion of Psalm 27 , while mixing the dough, was so therapeutic.

It is a beautiful Psalm... I'm one of those that believes HE hears my thoughts...even when I'm praying 🙏...I don't have the words and the Holy Spirit does make intercession for me and I always feel better... my granddaughter will be starting high school...I know I'm not supposed to be afraid but how can I overcome that... you did a great job with the challah...I don't have that talent... be blessed my sister and Yahweh bless you and your beautiful family...

What a deeply beautiful presentation! We watched the Zen-like making of the challah manually while you spoke to us of the meaning of the holiday and recited the exquisite Psalm 27, so full of meaning and pertinence to our present national malady.

Can't believe it's Elul already! There is also the idea of המלך בשדה meaning The King is in the field...ie that Hashem is closer to us during this time...it's the time to work on our middot, daven to Hashem and ask Hashem for things...so we can have a sweet new year,Mazel Tov on your 10 year anniversary

Marion, Loved the video! First, you made it look soooo easy to prepare the dough. I usually don't home bake Challah, but maybe I'll try for Rosh Hashana. They came out beautiful, round! Do you ever add vanilla extract, cinnamon or raisins for sweet challah? some of my kids love that, some don't. Loved how you explained about the Holy month of Elul. It's such an important month for us to get ready for the Yomim Tovim. (High Holidays). My husband is the Gabbai (A person who assists in the running of a synagogue or its religious services) in our Shul and He will be blowing the Shofar this Sunday which is Rosh Chodesh Elul. May we all be able to turn to our Father in Heaven and ask him for a healthy, happy New year for ourselves, our families, and Israel, and mankind. Mazel Tov on your 10th anniversary. you are such a sweet couple, and your children are adorable. rochel from Israel.

I really enjoyed the reading of Psalm 27 with your voice. Thank you for sharing what you do daily during this month and what means the letters(super interesting). And this from a Christian to you. PS I’ll be following the services in You Tube. This Rosh Hashanah will be one year that I start one Synagogue in New York.

Is Challah the same texture as normal bread or a bit lighter like brioche. I'm a non Jewish person from Australia who is really enjoying your videos and learning a lot, thank you.💕🇦🇺

My opinion as a Jew would say not like regular bread more like a brioche bread.

    • @MyJewishMommyLife

I agree yes lighter and more like sweet brioche!

This is just SO BEAUTIFUL and encouraging! I just loved the way you put things. I'll be making round challot tomorrow and will be thinking all about your video. My favorite part of 27 is "ל֗וּ֗לֵ֣֗א֗ הֶֽ֖אֱמַנְתִּי לִרְא֥וֹת בְּטֽוּב־יְהֹוָ֗ה בְּאֶ֣רֶץ חַיִּֽים", it makes me cry every time I read it. Thank you so much for sharing.

Remember that there are 4 different Jewish new years! Rosh HaShanah is just one of them (and the most significant). Otherwise known as Yom Teruah (festival of trumpets)
