I need help😅 I'm very New at all this, and where many Christians may say, "What's the Big Deal?" I believe it is a Big Deal if understanding Scripture is vital to understanding God will. I reread Genesis 1:14 and apparently it was important to know, or it would not have been written. However, I am confused and overwhelmed by the Months, the significance of each and what was noteworthy: Holy Days, etc. At the 8:08 mark you state that the New Year begins with Tishrei in the "springtime". I thought Tishrei was in the Gregorian calendar month of August. So, in America's August, is it Israel's Spring? Also, I thought that Exodus 12:2 was nothing that Passover is considered the first Month (Nissan) ??? As you can see I'm misunderstanding scripture, seasons, months and their meaning. Am I too far gone😊or can you reel me back in and put me on the right track? Thank you in advance...
Thanks so much for writing. You are not alone in your journey! I thought that perhaps I had misspoken and I went back to listen to the part your mentioned at 8:08. I think I was speaking too quickly. Nissan is in the spring but the traditional Jewish calendar begins in Tishrei in the fall. The Jewish months do not consistently line up with the Gregorian months; they shift slightly from year to year. Tishrei can be anywhere from September to October. Also please note: these are traditional Jewish names for months, not necessarily Biblical. I tried to make that clear in the teaching. I encourage you to go to my 'about' page on the channel, find my email address and write to me so we can have further discussion. I am happy to help you in your studies. Blessings.

Due to the nature of the Jewish calendar, the months do not always match up to the months of the international civil calendar (Gregorian calendar). The traditional Jewish new year (Hebrew month of Tishrei) can be in September or October. It floats from year to year. The Biblical new year given to Moses in the Bible can appear in March or April. It's a complex situation. Shalom.

Great video! What I was really looking for was just to understand how they labeled a calendar. It makes sense to me that if ie: Nisan 14 starts on a wednesday, wednesday on the calendar will read "Nisan 14" as it is beginning on a wednesday at evening time. Am I reading that right? Or would the wednesday on the calendar still be labeled "Nisan 13" because it's carrying over from the previous evening? This would make my life a lot easier so I hope you see this. bless you :)
Shalom Rowlando. I started by going to Hebrew school as a small child, so my journey has been very long. I thank YH for the generations that preceded me, especially for their prayers. It would be Shevat, which is in the traditional Jewish calendar the 5th month. In Moses time, the months were counted from Nisan in the spring. The 11th is the next to the last. After the exile, the Jews started counted from Tishrei, making Shevat the 5th. So confusing. I hope that make sense.
@@dancin4yeshua greetings! This is the first time I'm looking into the calendar topic. I don't know if I've understood right, but Yehovahs calendar is the one that starts in the month of Nissan or Abib as Yehovah named it after the maturity of the barely? Right? The secular calendar is the one Jews/Israel uses like the Gregorian calendar , but theirs starts Trishrei (1st month isn't Nissan?) a question that I've been pondering upon 🤔 shouldn't we just have one calendar so as to not get so confused? Shouldn't we just follow Yehovahs calendar instead of trying to make his Feasts and set apart days to align with our man-made calendar? Which one should take precedence? Please help me to find answers to this question ⁉️ ? ?
The first month given to Moses by YH is Nisan/Aviv, according to when the barley is ripe, Indeed. The rabbinical calendar begins in Tishrei since the people came out of Babylon. Why are there so many calendars? Why are there 30,000 Christian denominations? The answer is: people ;) Yeshua will explain it all when He comes, which will be soon, we hope and pray.
wow, to 'throw another wrench in the spokes' so to speak, for the last couple of years the earths rotation has been increasing in milliseconds and is now spinning faster that it has in recorded history and keeps increasing every few weeks. That will make a difference in their calculations also.
It depends on your perspective. The first month given to Moses in Exodus 12:2 is Nisan, in the spring. The traditional Jewish calendar considers Tishrei in the fall to be the first month. Most historians agree that Yeshua was probably born in either one of these months, but definitely =not= in the middle of winter because shepherds are not out watching their flocks by night in the cold weather. You may search out a prophecy in Haggai 2:18-19 which seems to indicate that Yeshua might have been conceived on the 1st night of Chanukkah. That would make his actual birthday on the 1st of Tishrei. However, there are other accountings of the service of Zechariah, John the Baptist's father, which show that John would have been born at this time, and Yeshua, six months later at the beginning of Nisan.
This is simply an overview of how the lunar and solar years could go together by counting of days, if they were consistent each month. But they are not. The full explanation of the additional months as codified in the Hillel calendar begins at 10:56. Thanks.
Sir Robert Anderson, assistant commissioner of the London police in the late 1800's has written an interesting book on this. It is called The Coming Prince. You might be interested in reading it. Shalom.
Sorry have an issue with a calendar that has Tammuz in it. God lambasted the Jews in Babylon for weeping for Tammuz Ezekiel 8:14-16 Women Weeping for Tammuz 14 Then he brought me to the entrance of the gate to the Lord’s Temple, which faced the north. That’s where I saw women seated, weeping for Tammuz. 15 Then he asked me, “Do you see this, Son of Man? You’re about to see even more detestable practices than these.” Sun Worship in the Temple 16 Then he brought me to the inner court of the Lord’s Temple. There, at the entrance to the Lord’s Temple, between the porch and the altar, were 25 men, with their backs toward the Lord’s Temple and facing the east, prostrating themselves to the sun.
I have tried to make it clear that I do not necessarily agree with the Babyonian names for the months as they appear on the traditional Jewish calendar. These are given for informational purposes only. The correct names for the months are first month, second month, third month, etc. If you watch the video on the 4th month, you will see that I mention the scriptures you are talking about. Shalom.
