VN24 - Tanker trailer overturns on the A46 freeway - crane helped with recovery

- VN24 - 15-06-2023 (D/M/Y) - Iserlohn A46 / Germany - On the A46 freeway at about shortly after 9:00 o'clock in the morning between the towns of Hagen and Iserlohn, the trailer of a tanker truck started to lurch and fell onto its side for reasons that are as yet unclear. The driver of the truck was uninjured. He then dragged the trailer, which had tipped over and was loaded with around 10,500 liters of diesel fuel, another 150 meters (500 ft) behind him and came to rest on the shoulder while driving in an easterly direction. The tank trailer is internally divided into several individual segments, of which one 7,000 liter and one 3,500 liter tank were filled with diesel. The dome lid of the 7,000 liter tank proved to be leaking. From there, several liters flowed onto the road and into the ditch. The specialists of the nearby operating company succeeded in partially transferring the contents of the 7,000-liter compartment into an empty 3,500-liter segment lying next to it by use of internal overflow valves, so afterwards the dome lids could be opened to pump the complete contents into a replacement vehicle. A recovery contractor finally put the trailer back on its wheels with the help of two wire rope winches of their tow truck and a mobile crane ensured a gentle set down with the help of a special rim holder. Due to the quick and prudent actions of the fire department, which collected quantities of diesel at the outset, only a fraction ended up in the soil.

Good recovery by the company with some great multi taskings , ie the crane driver working the winch and the recovery guy then doing the crane work . Interesting video and well filmed VN 24 thank you .

Very good, professional recovery carried out well. Interestingly they kept 1 lane of the motorway open until the last moment, in the uk the authorities would have had all lanes and the other side closed for the day or longer, especially with it being a fuel tanker.
Triest zo'n ongeluk met die aanhanger maar in ieder geval interessante opnames om naar te kijken hoe geroutineerd het opruimen en schoonmaken in zijn werk gaat.

That's so much equipment just to flip the trailer. In my country all you need just a steel cable and a truck to pull the trailer, and also some man to hold the truck from flipping to the other side 😂
But it's interesting to see advanced technique to do this job safely and smoothly without any damages.

Ist der Schaden am Anhänger reparabel? Oder läuft das unter Totalschaden? 🤔
Reparieren kann man alles, aber bei einem ADR-Tanker lohnt das nicht mehr.
Hier ist nicht die Reperatur das teuere, sondern die ADR-Zulassung.
Um die nach so einem Unfall wieder für den Anhänger zu bekommen, sind wenige und teuere Untersuchungen notwenidig.
Da müsste man Schweißnahte und Tankwände röntgen, jede Schraube tauschen und vieles mehr.
Dafür bekommt man am Ende zwei neue Anhänger.
Die slang naar die zwarte “overpomp” truck lekte meer dan de omgevallen aanhanger😂
After watching a lot of these videos I was wondering if it would be better to have a rotator like they have in the us
Tried that William, Kollmer had a rotator, the Beast , but found that cranes were cheaper and now have become the norm .
Cranes have more possibilities of use and because of German law, even if your rotator you still need an extra tow truck and both together cost like 750.000€ new and can only be used for recovery while a crane costs maybe 1.000.000€ new but can be used for much more and therefore can earn money quicker

@tobiasmetzger4522. Very odd. Here in the U.S., every large towing company has a Rotator. It's much more versatile with many more uses than a crane. And, it can be used as a crane, too. This was not a big job...a Rotator could have done the job, by itself, in a fraction of the time.

Wäre interassant zu sehen wie es mit den havarierten LKWs weitergeht - die Reparatur eben.
Da wird nicht viel repariert, denn nach so einem Crash ist ein neuer Anhänger preiswerter.
@@howie4285 Nun, ich meine jetzt nicht unbedingt diesen LKW. Ich würde gern sehen wie diese Reparaturen im allgemeinen gemacht werden. So mit Richtbank und so.

Hallo aber mit einen ADR Anhänger weil er nicht gereinigt und Entgast ist dürfte er aber nicht mit Gefahrenstoff Tafeln fahren uns haben sie gleich gestraft wenn was nicht richtig gekennzeichnet wahr, ich wahr selber 20Jahre Tankwagen Fahrer in Österreich.

@@jorgtungler7348 Zum Glück hat sich die Feuerwehr zurückgehalten. Wenn die Feuerwehr das Kommando hat oder übernimmt ist es einfach furchbar. Was ich da schon in den Videos gesehen habe. Zwar keine Ahnung, aber den dicken Max markieren und noch mehr Umweltschäden anrichten.

@@kotherdenis7137 Machen wir einen kurzen Exkurs im Gefahrgutrecht, hier: Warntafel, wir beschränken uns auf die dort aufgebrachten Informationen: Die obere Zahlen (früher Kemmlerzahl genannt) kennzeichnen die Gefahr, die von einem Stoff ausgehen. Im konkreten Fall 30 (drei-null, nicht dreißig!). Heißt, der Stoff ist brennbar (3), es geht keine weitere Gefahr aus (0). Unten steht die vierstellige Stoffnummer, hier 1202. Laut GGVSEB ist UN 1202 Dieselkraftstoff, Gasöl und Heizöl. Für Benzin (die Oktanzahl spielt hier KEINE Rolle!) hätten wir 33 (drei-drei, die zweite drei kennzeichnet den Stoff als besonders brennbar) und 1203 stehen, wäre Benzin geladen gewesen (UN 1203 ist Benzin oder Ottokraftstoff). Es gibt die von Ihnen aufgeführten Benennungen überhaupt nicht, schon gar nicht die Kombination 33 -1202!

Falsch, Heizöl und Diesel ist das Gleiche.
Selber Stoff 1202.
Und der selbe Stoff, hat niemals unterschiedliche Gefahrnummern.
Daher bei Heizöl und Diesel immer 30.
