"Flying a Fighter jet is easy, utilizing it as a weapon takes skill" - Some random air combat instructor I had while in the air force.

Finaly a quality DCS vid with no paid modules that make it misleeding . Overall W vid, I think more vids like this are needed in the DCS community!

the low fidelity modules are amazing for the beginning DCS player. I think loads of TH-camrs put way to much emphasis on the higher fidelity modules that new players feel pressured to immediately jump to something like the f18. When starting it is great not to have to pay any attention to all the systems and control and just learn to fly the plane. Great video.

35h in nice weather, lool, because as soon as you fiddle with the weather menu in the mission creator, it all goes out the window. start adding some wind, all your landings go to shit with crosswinds until you figure out rudder. add some broken/overcast low cloud base, adios smooth ground attacks. and so on.
also, this is a flight simulator like no other. it's as close to flying the real thing as you can possibly get at home. it's not an arcade game you casually boot up for a stroll. so any previous experience as a 'flight simmer' is not really worth a lot in the case of dcs. If you were a IRL pilot, that would help a lot though. but that is way more than 35h on steam, lol.

I'm not sure where you where going with this video. Was it to show excitement of your progress, complaining about how long it is taking, or a warning to others? Like you said, this game is basically like a simulator with the majority of the systems in these aircraft intricately modeled. To put things in a little perspective, it takes a minimum of 40hrs to get your private pilots license. To expect to learn how to fly an aircraft, radios, weapons systems, procedures, DCS settings, and key binds in less time than it takes to get your PPL is a pretty big expectation. I'm sure military pilots are not considered experts in their aircraft after just 40hrs of seat time. To save some time and aggravation, I use the provided tutorials to get down some of the basics, like take offs and landings. I'll give credit where credit is due. If you can accomplish all of that in 35hrs, you've got talent. If I was to put a warning out on DCS it would be that if you like this game, be prepared to spend some money! It can be addicting. I've been playing for 4 years now, and have never gotten board with how much there is to learn and do in this game!

I think the point of the video is to show what your first 35h in dcs could look like, I think it’s entertaining!

Great video! I love the Su-25T! I don’t fly it anymore, but, enjoy seeing it do its magic. Learning the systems is the easy part. Learning to fly is the real time sink, if you’re new to flight sims, The amount of control needed to fly formations, air to air refueling, etc. only comes with a lot of practice.

It’s actually an original song made by my son when he was 10 or so!
I’ll add the link to it in the description of this video.
