It seems clear that they’re trying to “memory hole” Blessed Seraphim’s true views on certain issues that are inconvenient for them.

But yes, they took it out because it brings to light that historic ROCOR was in communion with them, because they shared the same true Orthodox faith. If people have to confront the history than they, by default, end up having to study the ecclesiology and that's why they censored and stopped printed certain books altogether.
