Am I the only one here who knows that these are not ground squirrels? They are prairie dogs. Big difference! I realize you guys are from different countries, but you should at least know what you're shooting at if you going to be shooting it. PS kill many thousands of them myself using a Ruger 10/22.

So you're allowed to use firearms but can't use air guns over .22? Does SA limit calibers to .22 or What's the reasoning behind that?
Firearms are all licenced individually at state's discretion in SA. Airgun up to .22 do not require a licence. Much confusion in SA about how to get an airgun licence for larger calibers. Until that is sorted out, Matt is limited to .22.

the extreme north CA, NV, and Utah squirrels are very different from the CA valley squirrels, which are 3 times larger. BTW, banjo's are in the southern reigns of the US.

Be careful visiting Utah. They'll lure you into complacency with their beautiful scenery, polite people, and pretty girls. You'll head home 20kg heavier with two wives wondering what just happened...

All my favorite air gunners under the same roof in South Africa, can I get a front-row seat, please? That idea is a no brainer, just get it done already, please. Here is another idea, why don't you get all your air gunner friends together, and while your all in South Africa, also hunt water buffalo and wild hogs? Are you allow to hunt those species with air guns? Man, I would love to visit South Africa one of these days, and do some hunting with you. I'm nowhere near the skilled hunter you are but I just would love to learn from a pro, such as you, Matt.
What's amazing with PCPs of today is that they have the long range presicion now with high B.C projectiles that a 3500 dollar optic isn't just a flex (to some degree that is.. a 1000 dollar NF SHV is plenty honestly) but when dialing large adjustments that are needed at these kinda ranges the scopes tracking is dead on and the rifles are now capable of putting lead where you want it at those kinda ranges...
My .22 Crown with 700mm slug liner is having no issues putting NSA slugs on a 2 Minute steel plate at 500 yards averaging about a 85% hit ratio... And at 300y 3 shot groups are 1 moa consistently and consistently printing under 1.5 minute 5 shot groups.

You folks can find a better place to shoot. Come to Wyoming we have thousands of the rodents. I hunt and have them in 20 to 30 yards all the time.

Beua is doing something that I had been dreaming of. I kind of gave up on it because I thought it was a bad idea and I live in America. And if Americans have a pest problem they deal with it themselves. Hearing this is awesome news and maybe I will rethink a career option in the future.
