Toyotajeff in Raleigh can you help me with something Jeff? I just bought a 2020 highlander hybrid limited and the best I’m getting is around 28ish MPG. I’ve tried modifying my driving to maximize my MPG. What am I doing wrong???

My wife and I have a 2020 Highlander Hybrid All Wheel Drive LE Model. So far overall mpg since new is 41 MPG and improving. Several trips fishing down the Oregon Coast MPG's have been 45 MPG for a 120 mile round trip. I don't know of any SUV that can hold 8 adult passengers, as the capability to pull a 3,500 lb trailer, All Wheel Drive, and yet obtain over 40 MPG. Some of the so called economy cars, non hybrids, can not match that.

My Camry hybrid just rolled over 401,000 miles with both original batteries. Handled the mtns just fine to go skiing over the weekend
SOLD!!! ...... Great review Jeff. 38 mpg is incredible for a 3 seater suv. I'm really impressed with the minute by minute mpg on the infotainment screen..... does the Rav4 have this feature also?

So what does the sound generator sound like when engine is off driving EV?
Not much if none at all. It is the mv2 electric motors. The most noise would come from unbalancing, or tires on roads.

It’s surprisingly handled turns extremely well and it wasn’t as fast as a V6 but it still got up to speed sufficiently I thought.

I am impressed at this real world mpg. Can you do a video on the AWD XLE Hybrid Highlander to compare it to this FWD Highlander Hybrid.
All the Highlander hybrids are AWD.... electric motor for the rear wheel just like the Rav4 hybrid.
HenryHonda Not True. The AWD gets 35 mpg combined. The FWD gets 36 mpg combined.
I get 41.6 on my le Highlander 2021
If only they would make one version with 4 electric motors instead of two.

It drove more like a car than something like a 4Runner. Highlander hybrid was not in contention for me for a car for next year but after driving it I have it now on my list.
After 500 miles you'll probably average 30.

usually MPG improves after break-in, not worsens.
@@toronado455 , Because he is driving miss daisy.. what highway speed is this vehicle rated at.. You can be sure its not gonna be 35/36 at 80MPH.. Where 95% of the pop drives.
