@@knothead5 Honestly don't remember. But pretty sure it's literally called a "bottle stopper mandrel." Probably Penn State Industries based on where I was at the time in terms of resources. I don't use them anymore if I can help it, though.
@@WoodenThingsAndStuff Thanks for the prompt reply. Good turning. I showed the wife your approach to segmenting scraps. She said I could make about 548 bottle stoppers!
@@jasonlinton9950 Thanks! I think I got those ones from Penn State Indstries, but these days I get most of my turning kits and hardware from William Wood-Right (penblanks.ca) because I'm in canada and it works out better after shipping and border stuff is taken into account. Their stuff is also of higher quality.
@@WoodenThingsAndStuff thanks for replying! I just started doing bottle stoppers. But im skeptical about the ones from amazon. They say stainless steal but the price is just way to low. I want them to be good quality. Ty!!
@@jasonlinton9950 top quality (but the price reflects that) is probably nilesbottlestoppers.com (I think is the website). I haven't tried them yet because I'm not sure I could sell them for that much more than I already do. Might get a few one day as "gift" ones for people. We'll see.
The one i see on amazon are 10 for 15$. And it says stainless steal. I just want the stopper to be chrome or something bc it will wear and i dont wanna take that chance of getting someone sick . Yes niles is what im looking at. Expensive but worth it in the long run.
I go through William Wood-Write these days because I'm in Canada and shipping $ from the US is nuts. I used to go through PSI (Penn State Industries), which is fine if you want cheap Chinese garbage that you can make $ from. If you want quality stuff look at nilesbottlestoppers.com/ but know you'll need to either really like the person you're gifting to or charge a premium price for your goods.
Great looking stoppers, Mike! If I drank 🍷, I’d be all over these! However, I STILL need to place my order for a 🖊 , 🤦🏻♂️. I guess the good thing about not ordering one, YET, is that now I can drop a few hints to my 3 kids, 👦🏻🧒🏻🧒🏻! Christmas🎄 is coming! Lol 😝! Win/Win 🏆
No need for music..relaxing to just watch you work.
Agreed
Well Done 😀😀.Jim's wood shop.
@@jimschaffer9831 thanks very much!
You had me at, "hang out and have a beer".
Love the askew wood pattern. Good luck at the Christmas market!
Thanks, Dave!
You work fast! Where did you get the mandrel? Never seen one like it.

@@knothead5 better get on that!
Did you make the plexiglass display?
Great job!!! What size is the spindle adapter for a bottle stopper?
Thanks! And I don't know the size. I just ordered something called a "bottle stopper mandrel" and it works great.
Great work!! Are the stoppers stainless steel? Amazon?

Sty. I DONT want the stopper to be chrome.
What are the sizes of the wood you glued up. 1.5x 4?
I'd say closer to 1.75 x 5, but I wasn't really measuring.
Love how you made them out of scraps. Where do you get your bottle stopper supplies?
