@@chrishansen7004 I have an RV... I want to improve it's mpg efficiency... The stock intake manifold is restricted from the factory... With the manifold or a modified factory give me those MPG's?
@@chrishansen7004 I would do a small turbo. Because it can be moved down stream on the hot side. And being a RV roots would tall loud and inefficient. Let alone hills would be much easier to climb at speed. Low rpm low boost=torque.
I got a Daytona 3ton low pro jack and it works amazing. I have 15" wheels on the lowered 71 and can get under the a-arm when I have a flat. Can also lift my 99 burb front end high enough to get both tires off the ground. Had it about 2 yrs now and it still holding up just fine.
I have had my harbor freight long reach low profile jack for years and it works great. No issues at all and I really like the quick rise foot pedal on it
The Project Farm channel did a floor jack review a few weeks back, including the Daytona jack you were asking about. It did pretty well, basically as well as a Snap-On. You should check it out. Someone here also mentioned that Snap-On tried to sue HF and failed over those jacks. They are both made in the same factory.
I have a floor jack I bought from Amazon called the Sunex 6602LP 2 Ton Low Rider. 2.75" collapsed height, 18" reach and a 24" lift height and I love it! It's about $310 but it was well worth the price. It's not a quick lift pump (they claim it is) but the long reach and high lift has made my life so much easier when working on my truck it's hard to imagine what life was like before I bought this jack. I've had it for about 1.5 years and it's given me zero problems. It's not even very heavy. About 110# at the most.
I'm a big fan of extrude honing. Would do them on my sbf stuff. Smooths out the metal, creates (micro) channels for airflow and opens everything just a little. I use the Harbor Freight Aluminum floor jacks and never had problems.
Took harbor freight jack stands and welded 3/16 steel plate to the bottoms to 1 strengthen the legs so they dont spread under load and also for a larger foot print on asphalt so the stands dont possibly sink in the asphalt. I use a 3ton floor jack but looking for something slightly bigger for my lifted crewcab truck
There is/has been a recall on some harbor freight jack stands. Take them in to verify the numbers in person. If they are on the list, they will replace them with the newer ones asap, and hassle free. The large yellow 3 ton Daytona jack works really well, even up to full extension.
Daytona 4 ton works great for me on just about everything. Have friends and family with 3 ton and low profile and they are great too. If I mostly worked on trucks I would do the 4 ton because the 3 ton seems to require a bit more effort on large vehicles.
Daytona jack has been kicking butt for 2 years, always does what it needs to. As long as you don't have to carry it everywhere it's fine. Also have a Pittsburgh 3 ton I grabbed when I had a coupon, as cheap as it was I threw it in for my mobile mechanic setup(dragging it thru gravel, mud ect, and generally not been nice to it) but it's been surprisingly good too. The rapid pump and taller reach make the Daytona hard to beat
If I am going to be honest,if I owned a vehicle that caused cataclysmic damage to its tires that easily, I would probably die from inhaling disgusting amounts of smoke . Love the truck brother.
I've been (not so) patiently waiting for this new intake to be released. Watched this video as soon as it dropped and I've probably watched it 15 times since then just picturing what my engine would look like with that intake on it. They need to add it to the website so I can snatch it up
On the jack. Husky 3-Ton Low Profile Floor Jack with Quick lift is on sale at Home Depot for $179. I have it and it’s great. It’s solid at 80lbs and even has a grease point. Highly recommend it.
I bought the old low pro harbor freight 3 ton floor jack (the gray one). It was around 80 bucks and still going strong 5 years later. Harbor freight seems to have gone up in quality for a lot of their stuff in recent years so I assume the Daytona is awesome
Those HF Daytona jacks are really the best jacks for the money right now. Especially the low pro rapid pump. It also helps that they’re constantly on sale.
Lawrence LT Tolman Friend it's going to be a great build, but Make sure you put all the safety precautions into play and make sure you upgrade the brake system as well for greater stopping power and a Emergency braking system too !!!
I love your truck LT. Your engine choice is just plain genious.. Ford hotrod guys are building those 7.3 Godzilla truck engines for Mustangs etc. They are just now getting some aftermarket support, so I get where your coming from. Thanks for sharing, Cheers from Motown.
Also they’re still Siamesed port not Symmetrical port like a LS, Windsor,Cleveland, Hemi etc…although CID makes Jon Kaase designed symmetrical port head for regular big blocks (JK390).
I've been using a HF floor jack for over two years. I didn't like the little "dish" that came on it so I machined a new one from a piece of 4140 steel.
I have a hf jack that I've used for 18 years, no issues. My upgrade was a Daytona & honestly definitely a smoother, high quality jack. Plan on getting another to help with jeep life.
I have one of the Daytona floor jacks and I love it. Just bring a friend when you go to pick it up. It's the one of the yellow 3 ton super duty models that will lift to 24" and weighs close to 200lbs. It lifts my 2015 4x4 club cab Silverado very easily but they have a 4 ton model now that weighs just over 100lbs. That sounds like the ticket and if I needed one I'd have one tomorrow.
I've used all the Harbor Freight jacks for years. I've never had a single problem. While I've retired snap on jacks. Plus you can get a low profile jack to fit under a lowered truck.
I've got the Daytona 3 ton low profile heavy duty rapid pump. It works great but is very heavy (kind of to be expected). Not a big deal except that I work mostly in the dirt and it requires a piece of plywood or something flat to roll well on. Just something to keep in mind for anyone who doesn't have a garage or concrete to work in. I would overall highly recommend
Cool truck. I have a long reach 3 ton Daytona floor jack here that a buddy technically owns and left here when he did his brakes. It's about a year old, sits low, and has a foot pedal at the back. It actually works well. Better than my old Lincoln. It's heavy as hell too, maybe that's a good thing. As much as I am leary about Harbor Freight, this jack is pretty good.
Since powder coating is so smooth and durable, are you considering having the inside coated as well? It could smooth the flow enough that it would reduce resistance from the bare aluminum. With all that black under the hood, a vibrant yellow would really stand out, and since you're not going for COPO-like looks, then any color qualifies for consideration. Also, if you coat the inside of the intake, you could temporarily install a camera inside during testing, and any light you supply would be better able to illuminate the innards for viewing. Just a thought...
I have the Pittsburgh automotive low profile jack. They do deals on it lot of times so you can get it for a $20 off. It's awesome I love it lifted up three-quarter tons, car trailers, car trailers with trucks on the trailer and it's done great would not hesitate to buy another if I had to
I have two of the Harbor freight aluminum Jack's and love them. I work on lowered cars and the low profile works well. Really saves your back and hamstrings in my case when I need to throw a jack in the car for track day or drag it 150ft to my shed through my yard.
Not sure if you've looked but Yokohama makes a nice series of performance tires. Ive used them in the past and the rubber is sticky when warm but doesnt wear excessively. I was shocked at how long they lasted, even with copious smoky burnouts..I used them both street/strip and theyre real performers. Look for the ADVAN A052 series. they have a few 18" rim options too.
Oh, Harbor Freight jackstands work just fine. I use them all the time, but they had a recall a couple years ago. Also like my Amazon Basic jack stands too. Also, HF Daytona 3 ton jack works flawlessly everytime.
I have a Daytona 4 ton that lifts the front of a 3500 dodge Cummins with ease. I love it and highly recommend it. Love your vids, keep up the great work.
I just recently bought a low profile 3 ton Daytona jack. I need it to get under my wife's Charger R/T. It's a great jack, I have no misgivings for buying it.
Black wrinkle will look good and stay low key. The Dayton low profile long reach has served us well and you can get it color matched to your COPO truck
Have a 3 ton yellow Daytona HF jack, after a three years it has worked great! Supposed to be made same factory as Snap-On, did not know that before I bought it!
I would have thought that a 90mm throttle body would be a bit small for the 540? My stock LS1 has a 90 from the factory. I would have thought a 105 would be the minimum? Make it a bit easier on the turbo as well.
I have the long reach 3ton Daytona jack and it works great. Doesn’t lift as fast as it says but it lifts about 2’ and is stable. Great videos keep it up!
The Daytona jack has been great for me. Just don’t let it sit outside. The pistons get sticky. I have no problem lifting my trucks with it, or even my dads lowered foxbody
I have the older three and a half ton low profile rapid lift jack and I have had no problems with and it is eight or nine years old and still working like knew
I can't wait to build my monster truck. My plan is to take a k5 blazer and put a 8.1 with a Alison and put the full raylar set on it. Super stages 1-5 the works. It's going to be glorious
I don't have the Daytona brand yet, but I've had my low profile 3 ton Pittsburgh for about 3 to 4 years and i absolutely love it, i am planning on getting the low profile Daytona 3 ton soon though.
Another ringing endorsement for the Daytona 3 ton floor jack (the yellow one, that Snap-On sued them over). I use it it lift all of my vehicles (including our 2019 Expedition and my 2017 CCLB 4x4 Cummins Ram 2500) and it has never had an issue. Even with the current higher prices, it's still a great deal.
I have been happy with my low pro 3 ton daytona. I clearly dont use it near as much as you would but so far so good. I've been using it to jack up a 97 ext cab 2wd silverado.
I have had the Daytona Super duty DJ3000 for over three years. It is heavy but it is good. I still use my old Craftsman when I work away from the shop!
Check out Arcan floor jacks. Not the cheapest, but man are they a nice Jack. I got tired of having problems with other jacks and snagged one of them from Northern Tool. Very happy with it. Nice light weight aluminum 2 ton unit. Easy to take somewhere when needed. I’m not associated with either company I mentioned, just one car guy trying to help another car guy out.
I have the Harbor Freight 3 Ton Low Profile jack DS300LP. It works great on my 03 Silverado. But the rubber pad on the saddle slips on the frame as I jack it up. The floor jack seems to have some resistance to rolling as it goes up, so the saddle moves rather than the jack sliding on it's wheels. I removed the rubber pad so the metal on the saddle can get a bite on the truck's frame. I wish the saddle was larger so it could span the width of the frame, like my old Allied jack (RIP) did.
I'm thinking some sort of hydro-dip to match the turbo blanket would look slick. Something a little more custom than black, but not totally "in your face".
I’ve only heard good things about the HFT Daytona jacks. My understanding is that they are sourced from the same manufacturer as snap on and others. They have a heavy duty version one that comes with a 3 year warranty stock (I.e. more than the standard 90 days)
I bought a craftsman jack from the 1970's (weighs like 80 lbs) at the flea market for $40 and rebuilt it for less than 20 bucks and I've used it for about 20 years with no issues.
HF jack’s can’t be beat for the $$… My 1st was the old Pittsburgh one that I had since about 2004, it was used & abused & got left out in the weather too many times. Bought the 1st Daytona in 2018 & then another in 2022 because I needed a higher lift type for my 99 Tahoe. Definitely would buy again, look for them on sale & checkout their ITC membership. It will pay for itself if you join before making a big purchase. Keep up the great content & love both your trucks 👍
In your situation I'd recommend a short running intake. 4" runners will kill some mid range torque which will keep you out of knock, and help you put down the power.
My Harbor Freight jack works wonders but it is a bit on the heavy side though ESPECIALLY if you have the crossbeam attatched to it. All in all mine works great and am looking to buy another to have around w/o the crossbeam. The jack I have is the 3T low profile quick pump w/ foot pedal.
I have one of the Daytona Jacks it’s a budget friendly must with lowered trucks as well as my Mustang sits on lowered suspension so it helps getting under that one as well. The quick foot pump helps get it on frame to lift when in tight spots for good handle motions.
I have the T handle low profile high rise Pittsburg with the foot pedal and I love it It has a knob for the release and it is so much easier than trying to turn the damn handle I used it to pick up one corner to replace the rear tire on my 36 foot motorhome it did it no problem
I’ve got 3 of the Daytona low profile high reach 3ton jacks, after 6 yrs they still work like new an I use them everyday. Best bang for the buck hands down

I’ve only heard good things about the HFT Daytona jacks. My understanding is that they are sourced from the same manufacturer as snap on and others. They have a heavy duty version one that comes with a 3 year warranty stock (I.e. more than the standard 90 days)
Love my low profile long reach Daytona jack. It works great for lifted and lowered vehicles
The Daytona jacks work great, we have 3 at the shop and they get multiple uses a day jacking up cars and trucks. I'd definitely recommend
Love my daytona 3 ton jack just wish I got the long reach version sits lower and lifts higher.
I bought a craftsman jack from the 1970's (weighs like 80 lbs) at the flea market for $40 and rebuilt it for less than 20 bucks and I've used it for about 20 years with no issues.
Ah. Back when Craftsman made good stuff. My made in USA Craftsman hand tools are definitely one of my prized possessions.
I love my Harbour freight Daytona jack....no issues with it lifting my 2017 Ram 1500 or any of my hot rods...go get one..u won't be disapointed
Harbor Freight Daytona Low Long Reach is the BOMB! I’ve had one for 2 years works so well my son bought one.
I bought a set of the 6 ton jack stands for my 1ton swapped Suburban. I love them
I have had a Daytona yellow jack for 5 years now and has been great.
I have a couple jacks from Harbor Freight and they work pretty good. If they make cars any lower, I'll have to buy another one. lol
I’ve got 3 of the Daytona low profile high reach 3ton jacks, after 6 yrs they still work like new an I use them everyday. Best bang for the buck hands down
I have the low pro harbor freight 3 ton floor jack and its been great for the last 3 or 4 years with no leaks
Can’t wait to see this engine build. I have a Dayton jack and I love it.
The hf jack works great I've had one for a couple years and lift my semi truck rear axles no problem
