The Hong lu ego is intended for rupture teams. Every single rupture unit, from section 7, to chainsaw Gregor and lccb Ishmael to w yi sang has gluttony moves. There are already more than enough gluttony moves to support it, it just won’t be meant for your “only pick the sinners with the highest rolls” unga bunga team. And that’s fine. Still, it’s very unfortunate that it competes with dimension shredder, as dimension shredder is always going to apply 4 rupture count to its target which is a lot more helpful than potency.
Judging from the pass EGOs it looks like we are gonna be getting more IDs that are based around a specific Sin which is great. Team building has been a bit stale for a while, so this new approach is pretty refreshing. Also, Faust was teased for the Liu gang in the art for Liu Hong Lu so the new EGO is 100% meant for her future Liu id
hmm I don't really understand where the criticism of team building being stale comes from because if anything we've had the most interesting team building as of late with the many ids that synergies together to make one specific thing much stronger/it's main focus while in the beginning it was just putting the most damaging ids in one team and unga bunga-ing through content.
@@frednormal8356 it's not meant to be criticism, I'm just being glad we are getting a new way to team build. before this there were basically only 2 types of teams in the game 1- unga bunga dmg team like you said. 2- put every good ID that has the same gimmick in a team (i.e. charge, bleed, poise etc.) the sin affinity focused teams add a new way to build that is also much more flexible, letting you use past units alongside the gimmick instead of just making a new status effect that limits the ID to its own faction or making the ID so strong it doesn't matter what you run it in.

Dumb questions about the middle merasault passives: Does the in-field passive heal SP for pirate gregor?, I mean, the pirates are a part of the middle so it would make sense Does the LCB (base) IDs and the LCCB IDs count as the same faction for the bench passive? Same deal with the molar and molar boatworks IDs, do they count as the same faction?
Went through the entirety of Canto 5 part 2 with a full envy comp and it worked really well, even on 5-30. Don did the most damage basically every single stage as well; the amount of offence level she gets on her skills is ridiculous.
Middle Don and Meur + Most Fausts w/ Hexnail + any Heathcliff (bodysack) Can usually achieve the 6+ resonance easily I'm finding out. usually any unit with a strong envy s1 or s2 is desirable. so Deici Rodion, TT Honglu, R-Corp or Shi Ishmael, or Chef Ryoshu(!!) also help a ton. And because you're stacking so much envy res, meur's buffs gets a lot of value just naturally. Can't wait for more middle units to make the envy stacking easier, but right now I've had a ton of fun building a team around her.
I like the new Faust EGO with L Corp Remnant, she's quite fast 3-6 base + she gains haste from s2 and occasionally from passive as well. which makes her fast enough to use the EGO properly, also with the EGO passive she's a semi-burn ID. Sadly I don't have any idea what you could run in a burn team that has enough gluttony to fuel this EGO.
Spamming envy isn’t as hard as you think it is. There’s a third unit out there with a purple counter, who also happens to be a high tier unit that wants to get hit because she excels at low hp. Better yet, everyone gets her at account creation. Shi Ishmael. If you want a full team, you can add N corp Faust and Pierre Ryoshu who both have decent to good envy skills and envy fueled egos to keep the chain unbroken. You aren’t going to be able to do a permanent 6 chain every single turn with them, you’re going to have to strategize a little for specific burst turns, but it’s still an extremely potent team thanks to the added sustain that the two of them bring to compliment the counter heavy build.

I really wanted Don due to how sick her moves are but she is cursed with having to wait for more Middle gang mambers. That 6 res requirement is way too high it seems. Welp, Imma go farm for Deici Rodion since she's also a brawler and a top tier at that.
The Counter strategy is kinda flawed. Sure its strong to spam your skill 3 every turn, but getting hit at all is kinda a death sentence on content like MDH2 floor 5. You really need extremely potent healing in your team if you want to spam it.
@@stuckerfan2563 There are also Gifts that heal by really big amounts, but if there is an attack coming thats 100 or 200 damage, because the random mariachi or k-corp guy has 4 coins, you will not be able to power through that. You have to be very selective as to which attacks you counter and which you dont. Taking your own resistances into account to only take minimal damage. You might be fine on one encounter, but there are many different ones and if you are unlucky there is the possibility to get steamrolled like crazy. I am not saying it wont work, I am just saying, that it will be more different to play around than just using meta unga bunga W-don and gang. But I admit, that it is probably going to be fun to use.
You run mdon for her S2 clash primarily with counter as a consistency tool. If you trigger both bonuses, you're getting tripled offense level buffs (essentially the same as atk power for clashing at that point. This means with a 4abs res (fairly trivival with a team using shishmael, mdon, mmeur and lcorp remnant faust + some bodysack holder like rcliff) when combined with the offense level from said abs res it will consistently be hitting a 19 clash. And with the full 7 abs you can easily push 22 or higher. The counter is just extra copies of S3 that you always have and dont interrupt your chain. In addition, mmeur benefits far more from beat hurtily than regret
The new hong lu ego does help in rupture teams. From what I've seen rupture teams struggle with pride and lust, more so with pride due to dimension shredder and ebony stem eating it up a lot. While now we wound have aoe rift for count we now have aoe that is easily fueled in rupture teams and supports it with the passive. Base line it doesn't seem that good or any better than dimension shredder BUT when you look at how it can be used strategically it actually works super well.
My lust nail burn team is eating very good. That burn EGO sin resource aren't easy to get but it's possible so far better than nothing. My lust team is N Corp Faust, N Don, Liu Sault, Tingtang Hong Lu, Liu Ishmael, N Clair and Liu Gregor. Sister Don kit is very interesting but suffer from the fact that if the enemies is too weak, she cannot bring half of her potential. She also need more synergy. My lust team feel so much better to play even if it's theorically weaker. The team I made for envy was N Faust, Sister Don, Brother Sault, Chef Ryoshu, TT Hong Lu, R Cliff e Dieci Rodion.
middle team can get envy a res easy if you just send middle don and middlesault to fight (so long as you have uptie 4 that is) need more envy but rolled a skill 1 or 3? counter. only planning you really need is keeping like one or two skill 2s from don or meur for a nuke turn and you can pretty much eviscerate anything in a focused encounter.
God, why did PM "buff" EC by "promoting" it to HE. I hate every thing about that desicion. If it was TETH as intended it wloud be so good for rapture teams/K.Hong Lu...
Maybe cuz it would be too op? Running both this and shredder means K Lu has all 3 damage types at his disposal, AOE as well as single target rupture useage, as well as insane tanking, and rupture applying even while tanking... its kinda insane

@Kiyokoghurt There are already a couple TETHs that have 3 or more attack weight to them (and most don't even have conditions to fufill for them). At least K Corp Hong Lu will be naturally balanced against his EGO because you'll never get his 4 attack weight on it (good luck getting between exactly 25% and 21% HP to avoid triggering his own passive). And I'm sure in the future more units will gain multiple EGOs that stack more of one type of status effect (look at Ishmael with 2 Burn EGOs) so what's the issue with it now?
Actually my eye was itching from the fact that they wanted to give Hong Lu third Teth. None of the sinners have three EGOs from the same tier, while we're already getting our first Waw one.

Not really dieci in the end, just mono envy team requirement, tricky to fit into other comps but not that tricky either cos there's a lot of other envy.
You forgot problem of middle don/counter. CRUCIAL ones 1) Need to survive attack without being staggered 2) Need to be faster than enemy to redirect 3) Can be "Unlucky" in human fights, if counter doesn't clash 4) was in video, about DR > MidDon 3rd skill on dmg

All good questions that I haven't experimented yet, factions is a broad term in limbus since pirates could technically be associated with middle.
