Water pump doesn't pump raw water. If someone is using water as coolant then you would have to use the water pump drain during freezing temperatures. Nicely done video series. I love my 470
I ordered them from a company in the USA SBB Sports LCC South Carolina. I found them on EBay. Getting parts was hard trying to find them at a reasonable price
I’m using new good quality gaskets. Engines are not normally built from new with gasket compounds gluing gaskets in place. Also I have experienced stripping down an engine and finding excess gas glue in oil galleries. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching 👍
Well done, great camera work and explanation. This is really helping me out with my mercruiser 470!
I’m really glad that it is helpful.
Thanks for watching my videos 👍
Very informative Mr Thompson

Yes you are correct. The raw water pump is in the bottom of leg and only pumps water around the heat exchanger and the power steering oil cooler
I just got a 19ft bluewater with this 3.7l 470
Well done
I’m going to set up a Facebook page for the channel, when it’s up and running maybe you could share your project on it
Thanks 👍
@Keithsbrokenboats yeah for sure I'm making a video right now about the leaking fuel line and setting the points
Keith, where did you get your gaskets from please. Thanks.
