As a Habs fan in my sixties, I was raised to be respectful of the winning team, and so I will first extend my congratulations to Tampa for their win and the great exciting hockey entertainment they brought to the playoffs. Next I must congratulate my team for proving in these last two games that they can dominate this impressive opponent when they put their minds to it. If they conquer their problem with lack of confidence and the jitters in the initial games of finals next year, there's no reason they cannot win the cup. That being said their entire division needs to raise the bar throughout the season and into the playoffs to be ready for the likes of Tampa.

I think the Habs need to defenseman that have offensive capability and attitude and they need a real offensive leader. He doesn't have to be the guy that scores a lot of goals. He he needs to be a guy out there that just goes 100% from whistle to whistle. He's not afraid to take a hit he'll give a hit he plays defense he plays offense. Just that kind of energy. Your stars will look at him and say well if he's doing that we're going to have to step it up. The defenseman are to shore up the defense around Price. They really aren't that far from being a power team. I firmly believe that. You look at the lightning diving to block shots in this game five. They sold out. You had a few plays like that from the Habs. You can't save anything for the next game because it may not be there. You got to leave it all out there on the rink.

This lightning team going for dynasty status. Talent wise they’ve probably been the best since 2015. Now they have elite chemistry with one another, championship experience, and an elite goalie (all due respect to Ben Bishop but he was holding us back)
Next years team will look a lot different given that they are already 5 million over cap with the contracts already on the books for next season and still would need to sign some of their depth from this season.

Price is the best Goalie in the NHL... I don't care if the guy hasn't won Cups or a Conn Smythe etc. The guy has an awesome career playoff stats which is a lot better than the regular Season and has like the best regular Season stats career that I have checked. He won the Vezina, Hart and I think 2 other awards in 1 year. Price has 2 gold medals. I think that's a lot more impressive than winning a cup because you play 1 game win or lose to determine that. Also when you do play for that... You have the best players that can shoot and score and you are up against another best team that can shoot and score. So it's fair in competition wise. I don't care if Vaskelesky is winning 2 cups.... He's on a stacked offensive team..... You put Price on that team and put Vaskelesky on Montreal. I guarantee you this guy wouldn't be winning cups and Price would. So Cups don't determine whether a goalie sucks or not. It's the team that plays in front of him.

@@deehenderson3963 cap is not likely going up for 2 years. This is the end of the Road for a very long time for the TBL. Their team will be good next year but dismantled. They were nearly 25% over the cap during the playoffs (22%). I'd expect the NHL to change the rules to close this loophole- calling it the Lightning clause

Tough series for Hab fans. A few of the players looked fatigue. Tafolli had a bad last few games (bad bounces, losing battles). Many beautiful memories made during this run though. Build off of it for next year. Go Habs Go! Forever!
I'm a ducks fan and Tampa has had by far the best jerseys in the NHL since they switches like 5 or 6 years ago. In 2016 I got a sick black hoodie with the logo in purple. Stamkos used to be the Canadian ovechkin, putting up 60 goal seasons pretty insane in the modern nhl

At least Montreal didn't lose in front of their fans. They played sloppy tonight and they couldn't afford any mistakes.
Price was on his game tonight 100%, but the Habs forwards just fumbled the puck everytime they had an opportunity. Vasy and Price are both legendary goal tenders, and it will be exciting to watch next year's season go back to normal.
Listen, the Leafs got their ass handed to them, and that's all I wanted from the Habs. They delivered. They got further than anyone expected. With some more experience, I can see Caufield and Suzuki become as great of players as Gretzky himself. They have heart. They have potential. What an incredible post season this has been.

This lightning team going for dynasty status. Talent wise they’ve probably been the best since 2015. Now they have elite chemistry with one another, championship experience, and an elite goalie (all due respect to Ben Bishop but he was holding us back)
Next years team will look a lot different given that they are already 5 million over cap with the contracts already on the books for next season and still would need to sign some of their depth from this season.

At least Carry Price admitted the fact that he did not give habs a chance to win . His first 3 games of series we as awful.
Price is the best Goalie in the NHL... I don't care if the guy hasn't won Cups or a Conn Smythe etc. The guy has an awesome career playoff stats which is a lot better than the regular Season and has like the best regular Season stats career that I have checked. He won the Vezina, Hart and I think 2 other awards in 1 year.
Price has 2 gold medals. I think that's a lot more impressive than winning a cup because you play 1 game win or lose to determine that. Also when you do play for that... You have the best players that can shoot and score and you are up against another best team that can shoot and score. So it's fair in competition wise.
I don't care if Vaskelesky is winning 2 cups.... He's on a stacked offensive team..... You put Price on that team and put Vaskelesky on Montreal. I guarantee you this guy wouldn't be winning cups and Price would. So Cups don't determine whether a goalie sucks or not. It's the team that plays in front of him.
