I have been a Starbucks fan for years but I switched to Dunkins because of their coffee. Dunkins has some great food items and donuts! Starbucks coffee is expensive and not that strong compared to Dunkins.
Dunkin needs to revamp its store staff. Also, the donuts haven’t been made in store for quite sometime. Therefore, you no longer get that fresh baked aroma when you walk in. To arrive at a store and see trays of donuts being unloaded from a two axle truck just doesn’t get it!
I wouldn't say Starbucks is that bad but it's not spectacular either. But Starbucks sells coffee. Dunkin can sell donuts with good enough coffee and be successful.
@@flyinghigh2000 Not really, they're struggling. Their coffee sux, and no one eats their crappy donuts anymore. What they have going for them is they don't charge 5 bucks for coffee.
Hello, Starbucks Barista here! It all depends on the location you’re visiting for the quality of coffee. My location is CONSTANTLY busy due to the quality of our drinks! We ensure that our espresso machines are pulled 4 times every day - ensuring that our shots are not bitter and taste good. As I said, it all depends on location!
Dunkin's coffee and food options are good, but they need to have a more comfortable environment. Most Dunkin locations got rid of all seating options since 2020, and failed to ever bring them back. If they focused on creating a cafe-like environment for people to sit comfortably, socialize, or get work done, they'd probably be more successful. It's really annoying trying to grab coffee from Dunkin when you want to sit for a moment or have somewhere to lean to just stir your drink, but all it's just vast, open space where tables once used to be.
I love Dunkin Donuts (yeah, still calling them that!) and I've really hated that they taken away so many of the breakfast/lunch options; THAT'S what I found to be different about DD, that they offered inexpensive but good food options. Starbucks is both awful-tasting (to me, at least) AND expensive. I wish DD would have pushed their food options more and just let Starbucks be the coffee 'winner'. More than enough coffee places out there, but not a whole lot of inexpensive food options; DD could have really been the market 'winner' on that.
Their biggest challenge is going to be customer service, if they want to steal market share for Starbucks. Dunkin’ Donut employees are something else. Starbucks attracts more millennials and younger generation who are in school and actually have a vision for the future in their life
Adam Smith I was clearly referring to employees that apply there... lol either way, coffee is the most overpriced liquids in the world. I my self enjoy .20 cent cups of coffee at home
As far as coffee goes the experience at dunkin is like going to mcdonalds for a burger. Biggest problem is inconsistency. From the employees to the coffee. Sometimes fast service sometimes slow, sometimes friendly employees sometimes incredibly rude, sometimes coffee made right sometimes made terribly. No matter what starbucks I go to its always the same and its always good.
Stanley Fung but the fact was right DD did start in Quincy MA. But some idiot just googled Quincy and posted the first thing that came up which was Quincy Market Faneuil hall Boston.
It’s a shame they aren’t including customer service as part of their new business plan. My worst customer experiences occurred at three of their locations and yet they still disregard my input after attempting to contact them through the proper channels. Shame
I've not seen bad service at the dozens of Dunkins I've been to. One time someone served me a full caf coffee drink, when I said "decaf" and double-checked as they handed me the drink. I was buzzing into the stratosphere; I can't handle full caf. I complained on their customer support line, and they sent me an apology along with $10 or $15 worth of coupons.
I always order on the go because the dunkin workers always mess up my order when I am in person it’s like they can’t hear.Thats why I order on the go because at least they can read like🤷♂️

LoL, I can imagine some of these cretins that come in nowadays. I've been out of the states for 16 years but will be there on the 16th. I will make it nice and easy for the worker. Give me a cup of drip coffee and a couple dozen assorted donuts. Man, I remember the days when Dunkin made the donuts in store. You sat at the bar and watched them make them while you drank your coffee and had normal conversation with other customers and staff.
I actually work at one of the next generation stores in my area, it's pretty cool. I like the people who work there. While it's super ambitious, I think if they can hit all their marks, and a couple others they're missing, I think Dunkin' will be successful.
I would go there if their environment and exterior was more cafe-like and cozy. That’s why students go to Starbucks, not for the coffee but for the cozy environment.
My friends and I started calling him dunkin coffee back in the early 2000's after one of them couldn't get donuts after 8 to 10 am everyday for like a month.
I recently spent 6 months in Maine where Dunkin is everywhere and Starbucks is scarce. The issue I had with Dunkin was the service. Every Dunkin I went seemed to be employed with people who just couldn’t be bothered. Thankfully, there were plenty of Tim Horton’s in Maine, which turned to my preferred choice. Too bad neither Dunkin or Tim Horton’s are found in Wyoming. So we’re stuck with Starbucks.
Dirk Curritzki who told you, we are rich! some people are, the most are normal like any countries. sometimes I feel lucky when I catch the offers from Dunkin😂
I love Dunkin doughnuts. Great price for food and coffee. Sometimes I just want to go to Starbucks and get my favorite coffee. Starbucks coffee anywhere I go is always consistent and customer service is amazing. DD need to get more training trough out their stores to be better at customer service and consistency. Also agree with some of the comments about them needing some comfortable seating to make it a good hangout spot.
@tonkzilla I used to buy a box of donuts at 7am every Monday to bring with me to work. The just baked smell and taste of those donuts got us through the week. However, the donuts just taste stale nowadays.
By me, Starbucks (mistake#1)bought a corner lot next door to Dunkin donuts in the same strip center. (mistake#2) they blocked off access to the Dunkin Donuts parking lot, which backfired big time. Drivers can only get into Starbucks by driving north or east. Dunkin Donuts entry is further down and can access all four ways. Dunkin was smart and seen what was coming while Starbucks was building their store, Dunkin streamlined their drive-thru. Long story short anyone trying to get to Starbucks from the parking lot end up in Dunkins drive-thru
DD needs to increase quality of service, food, coffee, employees, brand image, etc. IF they do, and that a big 'if', they can definitely overtake Starbucks. DD has better coffee but SB has the brand, service, infrastructure, corporate culture to get people to spend $5 for coffee.
DD is not trying to charge $5 for coffee. I think these two chains are not going after the same demographic. Starbucks seems to me to be for a more affluent customer who wants to sit and hangout in the place for a while. DD seems to be more of an every man type place. DD also seems more interested in the guy rushing to work and grabbing coffee.
@@fightsports66 the thing is that people are willing to pay 5 dollars for Starbucks because they deem it worth it. I’m sure dd would charge people 5 for a coffee if they could but they can’t cuz people wouldn’t pay that much for dd

It’s like a hit or miss with their coffee. All depends on when the coffee was made and if it was left too long on the hot plate (sometimes has that burnt taste). But still would get Dunkin over Starblocks.
Yep. At the first one I worked at we threw out the coffee every 20-25 minutes no matter what. The one I'm at now it could sit for like 2 hours& we'd still use it...... (honestly I think that's why I don't like the hot coffee anymore)
I manage a dunkin, and I can 100% say this is accurate. We have many customers that like dunkin coffee more, but also a good portion literally walk in with a Starbucks cup and buy a sandwich and donut.
@NibiruLives I mean it is kind of smart business wise if you think about it. Short, simple name is usually a success for large recognizable companies e.g Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, McDonald's, etc.
I was a Dunkin' Donuts kid before, fast forward to today I may enjoy the occassional coffee at Starbucks but my everyday pick will always be Dunkin' especially for breakfast and afterwork, a donut and coffee are perfect together.
Coming from an ex Starbucks barista, I can tell you that there isn't that much training that goes into making the drinks that you'd think there was. A lot of co workers used to wing it, and it would be an overpowering flavor with a minimum amount of something else to make up for that. I would constantly ask how to make the drinks properly and the bosses would sit back and yell at us more than train us. We were trained (and this still happens to this day) to NEVER close the window! Always be friendly to the customer and they are "always" right! Ever wonder why the baristas are so nice? I was trained to be nice even if there was conflict. That turned toxic and I couldn't take everything that happened, having to do with customers who purposely knew this to start something and with the anti-maskers and COVID-19, not being respectful with social distancing and constantly touching my hands without wearing a mask. All of that happened when COVID-19 first hit, and since then customers don't have to wear a mask in the drive thru. That's how it worked sadly, and sometimes you'd get more milk and less flavor in your drinks but somehow they all still collided to taste relatively the same every time. Also, when you order a tea you get 1/2 water unless you specifically ask for no water! You are getting CHEAPED out, and no one thinks to ask questions because well... Starbucks is notoriously expensive so you think you're getting quality. Starbucks is also expensive because of the beans, where they claim they're "ethically sourced". In reality, they're never ethically sourced from all of the under paid foreigners who harvest the beans and such. Quite a bit of it's unethical processes are hidden underground, and although they have more flavors of things and more customizable than Dunkin, I can guarantee Dunkin is definitely more ethical and cheaper. I never went to Dunkin and only Starbucks for coffee even before I used to work there. Dunkin has so many menu options and it was so surprising to discover that! If you're reading this all the way until the end, thanks for taking the time to read my comment! If you wanna know how to make any DIY drinks at home that are on the Starbucks menu, or wanna know what ingredients and specific flavors go into their drinks HMU! I got you 🙏😎😎💅🤣
Unlike Krispy Kreme, the majority of #Dunkin (Donuts) locations do not make the donuts on site, but rather truck in their mass produced donuts. Freshness takes a hit, especially as the day goes on given their open donut storage philosophy. #fact
@@timpope9384 The store near me runs out and that’s it for the day. Now I know why. They don’t make them there, they just get delivered in the morning. Donuts are deep fried, not baked, although the term used in a commercial setting is “bake.” The dough has to be prepared, has to rise in a proof box, be shaped into donuts, and allowed to rise again, before being fried and then glazed or iced. It’s a multi-hour schedule and can’t be done as needed when the store runs out.

I’m a 5-year Starbucks barista and can honestly say homemade coffee is truly the best because you know exactly how you want it. I did get the chance to taste DD last year and can say that it really does taste cheaper (which it is).
I question myself everytime I go get coffee at Starbucks as to what's the motivation for me to do when most the time the coffee is just "meh". Well, the answer is the overall experience and the way I feel about the time I spend there. May be its just me but I never left starbucks feeling bad or disappointed about the service. The crowd that starbucks attracts is also great, that makes the whole experience of taking a trip to SBUX a pleasant one. It's difficult for other coffee shops to create a similar atmosphere.
U wanna know why you feel like that after you leave Starbucks? It’s their baristas. They let a lot of things slide which makes their baristas happier. A happier slave... I mean employee, a better experience that is given to the customer. Starbucks is smart.
Andy Fahey if dunkin starts making “healthy donuts” (using almond/coconut flours and healthy sugar alternatives like monkfruit) a significant part of their menu, they’ll have a real shot at success.
Green Giant lol certainly can’t argue with that but you know what i mean. Clearly Dunkin doesn’t believe that the future of their current business(donuts) is not as bright as a new rising business (coffee) so I’m suggesting another new area, an extension of their current business, that they can expand to.
@@wsk5nwytscnkfsu that starts making things really sketchy for people with nut allergies, though. Especially because dunkin employees most likely aren't trained in avoiding cross contamination between donuts
Djxjxhxh Hzjsjsjssb i was merely suggesting a business direction as healthy food, specifically keto-inspired diet and food, is a major trend right now. Personally, I rarely eat donuts (though i like it when i do) and exercise regularly.
Starbucks coffee tastes way better and is more consistent. I tried Dunkin in Berlin, Washington DC, and New York, they tasted totally different. I have tried Starbucks in London, Paris, Dublin, New York, Madrid, Amsterdam, and many other places and they tasted almost identical in all cases.
Audicula I feel like “inconsistent” is a perfect way to describe Dunkin coffee. I’ve been to stores and it wasn’t good. I buy the ground coffee or K Cups and it’s alright.
I have a Dunkin card and love the ice coffee when mixed right. I almost always use the drive thru. However, I have experienced the store computer "off line" several times and a general inconsistency in the coffee taste at different locations. Without a computer to connect to, I cannot use my mobile app to order. The inconsistent taste has driven me to a competitor (Mc) which has the same taste with every cup. I'd say these are two areas needing improvement.
When w buy Starbucks coffee you are basically paying for the brand or the name /image that Starbucks bring prestige especially here in Jamaica 🇯🇲 you will find them in a place where there’s a lot of economic growth for example new Kingston or in Ochios Rios or Fairview montegobay and there’s 1 coming to portmore as well

Hmm, funny. In Atlanta Dunkin coffee is without question weaker. I like the flavor better but it’s nowhere near strong enough
Yesss
Honestly when I get coffee from Starbucks which has been twice. I asked myself is this tea? This tastes like tea..
Whoa Starbucks is the strongest coffee I've ever had.
J Mo 🤣💀
Dunkin needs to revamp its store staff. Also, the donuts haven’t been made in store for quite sometime. Therefore, you no longer get that fresh baked aroma when you walk in. To arrive at a store and see trays of donuts being unloaded from a two axle truck just doesn’t get it!
It’s ridiculous that they don’t make them on-site, and they run out.
Used to work here in college. I majored in Business and it's amazing to see this kind of growth!
Starbucks coffee tastes terrible. Burnt and sour. If Dunkin just made decent donuts they would own it.

You’re right it’s the worst coffee it is burnt.
I agree 100%
Starbucks attracts more millennials and younger generation who are in school and actually have a vision for the future in their life
edit name I agree. Ive seen some pretty bad attitudes, maybe it’s the pay scale or management.

I don't know what your talking about man. Dunkin Donuts has plenty of people my age going to get coffee.

It’s a shame they aren’t including customer service as part of their new business plan. My worst customer experiences occurred at three of their locations and yet they still disregard my input after attempting to contact them through the proper channels. Shame
Dunkin can give Buffalo Wild Wings a run for their money with bad service.
I hate ducan
Yes service and consistency is why I only go when there are no other choices around.
I always order on the go because the dunkin workers always mess up my order when I am in person it’s like they can’t hear.Thats why I order on the go because at least they can read like🤷♂️
Why am I watching this , I live in north Africa and we don't even have dunkin lol
Dunkin doesn't even have locations in Canada.

Blind test from 7 years ago placed Starbucks at worst and dunking donuts at the top so nothing new really, there coffee is just better by alot.

Dunkin black coffee no sugar w/ 1pc boston creme..thats it..always a treat for a day.
Dunkin Donuts coffee is waaaayyyyyy better!
In Spain Donuts was already a trademark so here we have Dunkin' Coffee

We only have one dunkin in my town and the customer service is horrible. Like even the manager is openly rude to customers.
Maybe you're rude. Maybe be nicer to the only Dunkin in your town, they're probably very busy. If that doesn't work, make your own coffee
People camping out at the tables for hours doesn’t make money. They need people to make a purchase and leave soon.
"in the 8th grade"
The tone shift lmao
I know, right? So much shade and salt being thrown around. 🤣
I miss when their donuts tasted good and fresh, it's a shame they lost their focus on them.
thank you!
I agree
@@fightsports66 I also agree.
@@fightsports66 the thing is that people are willing to pay 5 dollars for Starbucks because they deem it worth it. I’m sure dd would charge people 5 for a coffee if they could but they can’t cuz people wouldn’t pay that much for dd

i never liked the taste of coffee, but look at those donuts ;)
#fact
Cool One stale and bland
They come in fresh every morning and after the store runs out they bake them in store
