  • If you are an automotive enthusiast, you would probably agree that there isn't anything too exciting happening with the Honda brand these days. Honda is more about everyday driving and fuel economy but there is a glimmer of excitement still left in the Line-up. The 2014 Honda Accord Coupe V-6 with the manual gear box is surprisingly fun to drive.
    Find Out More on the 2014 Honda Accord Coupe
    www.autobytel.c...
    Styling wise the Accord Coupe is one sharp car that does not go overboard. Up front the Accord Coupe still carries the familiar Honda family design but adds a bit more aggressive LED headlights. There is 18-inch rims wrapped in 235-series tires at all four corners. The shoulderline runs from the headlights up to the top of the taillights and gives the coupe come character. Out back there is some chrome and a dual exhaust for added flair. And with this red paint the whole package works well without shouting in your face.
    Most Honda Accord's will be paired with the 4-cylinder engine that makes 185 HP. The engine you want is the 3.5 liter V-6 that makes 278 horsepower and 252 lb-ft. of torque making this one of the most entertaining front wheel drive cars on the market. There is also a 6-speed manual transmission available.
    On the inside you realize the Accord coupe has a better interior than the Civic and it feels much more up-market. The materials are nice and the integrated screen in the dash is great. Honda has always been great with ergonomics and the Accord Coupe is very pleasant to drive and user friendly.

    Honda underrates the power output of the Accord. The I4 is really pumping over 200 HP, and the V6 makes closer to 300.

      I agree. I just bought a Touring coupe V6 with the auto and it’s just so quick. Instant torque. I wanted a 6-6MT but they’re so dang hard to find!! I really love the car though.

    I remember I used to watch this review because that was my dream car , and I'm so happy that I was able to find it , is a 2014 Accord coupe v6 mt and bought it with the HFP package . Is being with me for four years so far, I remember that I used to even pray to own this amazing machine. And I feel like this was a gift from God 😇. God Bless everyone

    I always crack a smirk when people say Honda doesn't have any fun to drive cars anymore and "rip this and rip that" when in reality I have seen almost every Honda made car with a J series leave things in the DUST at races. This car is a gem and personally it stacks to a mustang v6 alternative very well. Good review

    Amazing coupe. The 4cyl 6sp manual is just as fun and responsive to drive. A little easier to handle, if you're not used to a torque-y gearbox and the torque of a V6.

    The accord is best at playing multiple roles. It's super quiet and comfortable yet when you want something that has good power and fun to drive as well, it beats out the mustang.

    I own a 2015 automatic. Tons of backseat room. Trunk space is ok but not the best. Gas mileage isn't too bad. The V6 engine is a beast. I do mostly highway driving. It just purrs at higher speeds and it accelerates like a rocket when asked . The car is built like a tank and has an absolutely rock solid feel. The interior is a bit old school, however I prefer a classic look over flashy electronic LED. I love just about everything about this car.

    If you opt for the Automatic, Honda forces the VCM on you :-(
    So get ready to stomp the gas a lot if you want all the engine you paid for to work.

    • @CFL-TECH
      @CFL-TECH 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The VCM in the 9th generation is just fine. If there were any issues previously they've been addressed and it is much smoother, If you have driven one and determined this then that's your respected opinion. If you haven't driven one the give it a try.

    • @HalfBreedMix
      @HalfBreedMix 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd hope they would have refined the VCM; but I still don't think it's worth all the trouble to save a little bit of gas. If people want better MPG, then they should get the 4 cylinder. Also remember that nothing is free; all that VCM hardware and programming is raising the price tag, would rather have that money go into a HFP suspension.
      Here is an objective point of argument; why didn't they put VCM on the manual ? The sales rep told me that the potential customer for the stick-shift wouldn't care for VCM (notice he said nothing about mechanical difficulties getting it to work, just the customer's taste).

    • @LittleCD
      @LittleCD 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I disagree and I can vouch for real world experience since I own a '13 Honda Accord v6 with an AT.
      For City driving, VCM is very un-intrusive. You barely notice when it runs on 3 cylinders and just putting a little gas lifts it back to 6. On highway, I love it. Just maintain a good speed and VCM gets me 30+ mpg without trying.

    • @HalfBreedMix
      @HalfBreedMix 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback LittleCD, I just wish Honda gave the customer the option to select VCM or not; hey, a switch to turn it on and off would have been great.

    This is such BS. The mustang would be more fun to drive because it's RWD. Please...I used to have a brand new Stang in 2013. Traded that for a new GTI in 2014 and I can tell you this... The GTI is a WHOOOOOLE lot more fun to drive than the mustang and the GTI is FWD. As a matter of fact, if you search most fun cars to drive for under 30k, the GTI tops almost all of those lists. So don't give me this BS about RWD being more fun to drive.

      Samy Ismael yea, but only with manul and no extra opinion, remember this one is top the line with technology package, tell me how much u will spend to get the 370z with nav (even with nismo, which indicates "top the line" opinion)

      LaoK8710 Why would you drive a 370z with anything BUT a manual? Sports cars are meant to be fully experienced with a manual gearbox.

    This guy needs to go drive a 335i so he knows what a real "enthusiast" car drives like. This coming from somebody who actually owns a 6 speed v6 Accord coupe. I love the car, but let's be real - it's a large heavy FWD grocery getter with a good gearbox.

    you talk to darn much, people dont care about the million words you have to say about the car, people wanna see the test drive

    Want an automatic MazdaSpeed3 with an Automatic? Sorry, no can do. So buy this one instead.
    Want a new Acura NSX for only $35,000 ? Sorry, if you want a new Honda coupe with a V6 for that price you will have to buy this car instead.

    • @captainjack6890

      Genesis is also RWD. And besides I wouldn't be surprised if the Accord coupe can thrash a V6 Mustang on or off the track

      It's not bigger for the 9th generation. The car is actually smaller, however the interior is a bit wider. It is not bigger than the last generation.

      The Altima, Optima, Sonata, and the 2015 Chrysler 200. The 2007 Accord were the best looking accords inside and out
