  • Here's how I installed my propane Propex heater in my Tacoma. I used a lot of 3D printed parts that I designed and made. I hope this helps if you planned on installing one of these as well.
    More details to follow here...

    Question: Where did you get the 90 degree female to male 5/16 compression fitting. Most 5/16 compression fittings I find are 20 threads Per inch (Tpi) where the 2211 heater seems to have 19 (Tpi ). I am installing my heater and this is a road block for me.

    Curious why you went away from the front runner drawer set up you previously had in favor of the goose gear? Just a personal preference? Higher standing area?

      Nate Knapp i few reasons, mostly because we helped develop this layout for Goosegear. This is actually the first long bed version. The main advantage is middle aisle and storage layout.

    Nice work!!! Did you compare the Truma Varioheat verses with the Propex heater? I am in the process of testing out the Varioheat... The Varioheat looks like it can be much quieter than the Propex during operation...

      What did you end up going with? How is it working?

    • @datguy2730

      @@daviddouglass208 I went with the Truma VarioHeat comfort. It is pretty quiet. Make sure the LCD screen model they send you matches the VarioHeat model. Some how they sent me the wrong LCD model and when it rebooted itself it no longer worked with the VarioHeat model that I had and it was too late to return it and get another one so I just use the manual dial switch. Now going from a Diesel heater to the VarioHeat was a night and day difference in sound levels. With the Diesel heaters, you have that constant ticking sound of the fuel pump and I never found a way to silence it. However the VarioHeat is real quiet especially if you put it on the lowest setting. So now the bad thing... With the Diesel heater it tends to sip fuel so you can run a couple of days with a gallon of diesel where as with the propane heaters like the VarioHeat and Propex you will need a standard size 20lbs propane tank to go a couple of days. A compact 5lbs propane tank will last me about 1.5 nights with the VarioHeat in my setup. I don't have any real insulation so that is one thing that causes me to run through heating fuel... But I really like the VarioHeat model due to how quiet it is while running... I use it when sleeping inside my jeep or van and I use it when sleeping in my roof top tent. Anyway I hope that helps!

    My hs2211 is on its way. What gas adapter did you use to convert the gas to US piping? Also, still interested in the abs adapters. The one that connects the piping from outside to inside, is that a 90 degree elbow adaptor so the piping is horizontal and against the roof ?

    • @averagerider92
      @averagerider92 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't sweat it. Went with 70mm silicone elbows for intercoolers that ill be using to route the 70mm piping into the cabin.

    Where did you use for the cubby with the outlet? Was it just the arb air compressor cubby?

    • @TheWolfMobile
      @TheWolfMobile  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s the stock cubby drilled and sealed.

    Hi, I need the abs adapter that I can connect the pipe in through the cabin. I'm mounting it on a trailer and I think the trailers floor thickness is like an inch and a half or so but I can double check. Can I work with you on adapters? How does abs hold up to the elements underneath the vehicle as well as propex hot air?
